Review of Wylie Eye Center I have been a loyal patient at Wylie Eye Center for the past 8-10 years, returning every couple of years for an eye exam, new frames, and the same type of lenses I've used for years. Unfortunately, my most recent experience has been deeply disappointing and unlike anything I've experienced with them before. This time, a mistake was made -- the wrong type of lenses were ordered. I realized the issue immediately upon receiving them and even called from the airport the same day to report the problem. It was clear upon review that they had ordered the wrong lenses. I requested the correct comprehensive lenses to be ordered, expecting the matter to be handled promptly. Two weeks and many follow-up calls later, I was finally told my lenses had arrived. When I went to drop off my frames with the incorrect lenses, I explained the situation to a young staff member, who said she would look into it. The next day, when I returned to pick them up, I was shocked to be told I needed to pay for the new lenses -- essentially paying for two sets, one of which I will never use. What's worse is the complete lack of communication and care throughout the process. No notes were taken, no follow-up calls were made, and the staff I spoke to the previous day didn't even remember me. When I asked to speak with the office manager, I was told she was busy but would call me before the end of the day. That call never came. After over a decade of trusting Wylie Eye Center, this experience has left me saddened and frustrated. The quality of service and care I once valued here seems to have disappeared entirely. read more

We have went to this doctor's office for a few years. Then our primary doctor left. We started seeing her partner. Very nice guy. However, my child had some issues with his eyesight and he wanted him to be placed on some "experimental drops" or so some hard bifocal lenses. I did not feel comfortable with that at all. I went and got a second option. I'm so glad we did. The new doctor said there was nothing wrong, he just needed a higher power lense. The brand he was in only made 1/2 strengths and not quarter strengths. So it came down to changing the brand! It also took multiple calls to get our records so I could take to the new doctor. Very nice office and staff though. New doctors are great because some times they know the new things. But boy am I glad I went with someone who was way more experienced! read more

My daughter and I both had appointments recently, both had an exam and got new glasses. I really like it here. The doctor was great, especially with my teen, he was patient and cracked a few jokes with her. The technicians that helped us with our glasses search and fitting were great as well! We've been coming here a couple of years now & absolutely love this office. Everyone here is very friendly, knowledgeable & always helpful. We've all worn glasses & just transitioned to contacts. They made it so easy & were very patient with my to young daughter. The doctors & staff are ALL amazing!!!! We also loved voting for their Xmas door decorating contest, it was so much fun! My family has been seeing Dr Anderson for years and has loved her. Due to my aging eyes I have had to recently start seeing her as well. At my appointment yesterday I had to wait approximately 30 minutes past my scheduled appointment time because they had a patient emergency in the office. Dr. Anderson stayed cool and calm and did not make me feel rushed or hurried even though I know she was running behind. She was still very thorough. When you are having a problem, she is willing to dig deep to find a solution and the results you were hoping for. She spent extra time with me to diagnose my problem and I really appreciated it very much. She is very warm, caring and concerned for the health of your eyes. We are still working on finding the best fit of multi focal contact lens for me and my chronic dry eyes. I am confident she can help me achieve that goal. I left the office feeling encouraged we were on the right path. I am so thankful for Dr Anderson and her staff. read more

Expensive, and they seem most concerned with selling you expensive new glasses with each eye appointment, as if the appointment itself is the lead up to the sale. They called me to come in to get my new lenses cut and when I got there they told me they didn't know when it would be up and running again. One of the employees helped me with that, thankfully, and they will send off the lenses to get cut, but it was still a wasted trip. One of their doctors told me that he thought they got my prescription wrong on my last pair of glasses and when I brought that pair in, they told me it was entirely on me because I didn't bring them in, as if I should immediately identify why I was getting increased migraines. I walked out of there wondering why their different branches aren't effectively communicating this information? They made me feel like I was trying to put one over on them, but here I sit with a pair of expensive and useless glasses and they don't seem to care. I have been a customer of theirs for several years, so I don't know why they took on that attitude, but we will no longer go to them. In fact, the attendant even asked me, "what did the doctor tell you?". This is just not a well-run business. Go somewhere where they care about a long term relationship with you. read more

I needed a new optometrist in Wylie and decided to try out Wylie Eye Center. Dr Parks was awesome to work with. The lady who helped me decide on glasses was kind and professional. It was an easy experience from start to end. Glasses were ready within a very short time and were right when I picked them up. read more

I have been going here for several years. When I got my glasses a few years ago I felt dizzy. I went into the eye center and they said it was because the measurements were not correct. They remeasured me and the glasses come back perfect. The next time I got glasses they did not fit properly and they worked with me and we just put the new prescription in my old glasses. Next time I got glasses I got the same glasses in a different color. Recently I get a new lens and decided to get new frames too. Glasses came in at the office they seemed fine. When I got home I noticed when I was reading the right side of the paper was blurry and when I extended my arm the words became blurry. I put on my old glasses and this didn't happen. I took the new glasses back and told them what was going on. They said the lens was defective and need to be replaced. Two weeks later I still do not have my glasses and they do not know when they will be in. I am very frustrated because I really like Dr. V, but the glasses center seems to have a difficulty getting my glasses right the first time. read more

I ordered a pair of glasses for my son on the 17th of March . The prescription was made at another doctor. The shop said that it would take 7 to 10 days. Its been 2 weeks now. Called in 4 times. Two times, they said the lab was closed and they swore they would get back to me. Two times, they transferred me to the lab who confirmed that the glasses were not ready. Well... So another 2 more days... minimum. Sunday Hoilday... What are the chances I will get the galsses? Did they mess up? They took the money from me in advance, It should have struck me right away. I thought, maybe, it was their policy. I wanted to ask them why. My son was with me. So I did not want to create a scene. It looks like I am the one who is writing the first non- 5 star review... That looks weird. I did not see anything out of the ordinary in terms of customer service. The sad fact is that I tried them because of all the reviews. Well, It IS not a good first experience. God knows when it will become a WAS. read more

I think Jim D isn't telling you the whole story. I've been going here for over a year, and I have always been received with welcome arms. As far as the pricing, depending on what insurance you have will depend on what is covered (obviously). I just paid $181 (frames & lenses) out the door! I had the best experience here today. I haven't been to the eye doctor in over 2 years, because I have a pretty irrational fear of the eye doctor. Everyone here was so kind and patient! I could actually feel myself relaxing the longer I was there. They talked me through everything and it made a huge difference. They were also great about explaining my results and the changes in my vision and prescription. I cannot believe this office is only 5 minutes away, because this is the type of office I would drive an hour to go to. I highly recommend. read more

I have been using the Wylie location for several years. All has been pricey, but the service and product(s) were worth it. However, last week, I was treated with such indifference by a staff member (Opt. Tech? Sales?). I came in to buy a second round of my new prescribed contact lenses. When I first had the checkup and ordered my new prescription a few months ago, I also paid $359 for new lenses in my Tiffany frames (also bought at Wylie Eye Care in Wylie.) Well, one lens kept falling out, so I took them back last week so they could fix it. This visit is what has brought me to write this. I explained the issue and she took the glasses around the corner to look at them. She brings them to me in the case and said something like, here you are. Then she was about to ring up the (I think) close to $200 in contact lenses. I opened the glasses holder and took the glasses out. As soon as I did, the lens fell out. That is when she told me there was nothing she could do. I said, "So you were just going to give them to me like this and not say anything?" she said there appeared to be some if the plastic from the frame protruding and preventing the lens to fit correctly. I explained to her that the Wylie Eye Center were the only people to touch the frames that they were seldom used, and this was only the second prescription for the frames. In other words, the frames were still relatively new to me and in good shape. So, when they were placing the $359 lenses, they ruined my frames. I told her I would not buy the contact lenses from her and asked for my glasses back so I could leave. She brought them back to me, without the lenses. This felt like another slap to me. I said, so you are just going to keep the frames? She said they did not fit and yes, she was going to keep them. The longer I thought about it, the more upset I became. I paid for the lenses, and she kept them!. I had to call the manager to complain, and was refunded the $359 lenses (takes up to 10 days to clear...). Now, my Tiffany frames are ruined, and can never be used after they broke them. I will never go back to a place that puts someone so indifferent at the front desk helping customers. Rude and could have cared less about what they did. I will never go back to the Wylie Eye Center in Wylie. read more

Staff are super friendly and wait time was short. It was my daughter's first eye appointment and saw Dr. Royster. He was great and patient with my daughter. He explained everything including what he was checking before he does the procedure so we had a full understanding. We will be back again! read more

The doctor was great, very pleasant and thorough. The check in staff also good. When coming out to look for frames the concern seemed to be if I needed my insurance explained to me which I said I did not. I understand how insurance works and was prepared to pay for new glasses though my prescription is never cheap. After a couple minutes the woman who was helping me look for frames left me. I didn't find any frames I liked and went to check out and get my prescription to take elsewhere or come back with later. The lady couldn't find my prescription and was going to print another one for the doctor to sign. The first woman had left it on the top of the counter...I did sign the HIPPA form before finding my prescription left out for anyone to see. I left with my prescription finally. Though they had been recommended to me, this will be my first and last trip. My preference is to do business in Wylie which is why I gave this business a chance. I am disappointed. read more

I have had my eyes examined 2 years in a row and each time was seen by a different doctor. Both did a wonderful job, they listened to my concerns, problems and had a solution for all. Their wonderful crew is fabulous, all very polite, efficient and quick at their tasks. I myself work in the dental industry and we strive for the best job we can do.
