From the girls at the desk that take your information and make the appointment to the assistant that takes her time getting all the information that the optometrist to the optometrist.... Went in for prescription sunglasses, already used my VSP for the year on daily wear prescription glasses, so these would be out of pocket. They had the glasses marked up $100 above MSRP, and then with prescription lenses tried to charge $300-800 (after their 30% discount) more than I ended up getting the same pair from MyEyeDr in Plano an hour later. MyEyeDr even had the frame $9 less than MSRP. Won't attempt to use them again. read more

We have loved Dr. K but unfortunately the staff does not listen to their patients at all! Patient care should be communication between patient and staff however staff here does not respect or care enough to simply listen and acknowledge their patients. I came in for an eye exam with Dr.Smith and got new prescription eye glasses made at a different place, but the prescription was not comfortable and had a magnification component that I wasn't comfortable with. I went back to see her but they wouldn't let me do a follow up to fix the prescription that SHE recommended. They kept saying this is the best prescription you measured for, while I only saw her once. They robbed me off having my follow up to fix it and said you can go some were else. This was very offensive, unprofessional and dishonest. I guess they hate it when you don't do your lenses with their overpriced labs and try to make excuses, they literally wanted to charge me $25 for forcing me to have them check the right numbers on my prescription "because I didn't make the glasses with them." My kids have been patients at Plano Eye Care Center for many years. My son first started with Ortho-K contact lenses (wear 'em at night only, awesome invention). They've worked out great. Back then, there weren't many places that offered these types of contacts, and when we came here we were very impressed. The doctor was not pushy, and didn't promise any amazing results, just explained how they worked, that a lot of people are happy with them but may not work for everyone, etc (for the record, I don't like pushy sales people). We thought it was worth a try so we went ahead, and it's worked out great. My daughter needed the same a few years later, and we've had a similar experience with her. Both Dr. Khoja and Dr. Patel are friendly and helpful. They're always ready to listen to concerns and make whatever adjustments are necessary in treatment. Again, they aren't pushy about buying new lenses, or any other service. They make suggestions, explain the pros and cons, and let us decide. I know there have been some folks complaining about office staff, and there was some turnover in the past, but in 7 years, I've never had a problem with any of them. We check in, see the the doctor, then pay our bill and schedule our next appointment. I highly recommend this place for all your eye care needs. read more

This review is really about two different experiences. I really liked the optometrist and the time she spent with me and thoroughly explained things. That part of the review gets five stars! The optician experience was completely different. There was no transparency in what they were quoting and their pricing structure. The "basic" lens I was sold was not a basic lens at all and they put a bunch of add-ons that I did not request. They also didn't use my insurance for the lens to "save me money", but in the end, it was around avoiding transparency of pricing and not providing an itemization of individual charges, which I still do not have. The manager of the optician practice had to be called over twice to "explain" things to me, but they are focused on optimizing sales and not focused on the customer. I may go back because the optometrist was fantastic, but I would recommend avoiding the optician part of the process. . . . . I will not be going back! read more

I moved to the area about a year ago and was down to my last pair of contacts, so after doing a little searching around through my insurance, I found Plano Eye Care Center. I'm so pleased with this business. The women at the front desk were friendly and I only waited a minute or so before I was called back for my appointment. *Side note: I have been historically TERRIBLE at the glaucoma test, where they send a little poof of air right at your eyeball and you can't blink. I can handle a lot, but when that test comes along, I just can't help but blink and flinch. I even apologize to the technicians in advance and ask them to bear with me while my eye freaks out. Well, this office has a device that quickly rolls over your closed eyelid! No more poof of air! This alone made me jump for joy. I was attended to by Dr. Khoja who was very nice, thorough, and kept stopping periodically to ask if I had any questions. The questions I had were answered completely and she made sure I understood. I had only come in for a contact lens exam, so it wasn't very complicated, but it was nice to learn a little more about my vision. I am looking forward to continuing my care with them and will certainly be referring others to the practice as well. read more

He is very down to earth and his staffs are very polite and helpful. They got me in on time and Dr. Patel was very professional and he use the latest technology. I have been coming to this office to see Dr Khoja for 5 years now and am very pleased with the quality of service and care overall. The office has very fancy state-of-the-art looking equipment, clean exam rooms and competent staff. Dr Khoja is very thorough and dedicated. She always explains what she does and observes very clearly. She is extremely polite and makes sure I am comfortable at all times during the exam. My only complaint is that wait times are often long (more than 90 minutes from arrival to departure) and I feel they are sometimes being a little pushy trying to get you purchase glasses from their store. But overall this is a great place to get annual eye exams and I will keep coming in the future. read more

Dr. Kohja is an incredible, thorough, caring, and patient focused professional. I chose The Plano Eye Care Center specifically due to their location where I live. I saw my previous optometrist for 28 years after he caught a retinal tear in my early twenties that saved my vision in my left eye. He recently retired so I made an assumption that all eye care places would be the same and choose convenience. On my first visit to Dr. Kohja I related all the issues I had with my contacts and vision over the past few years. She immediately asked if she could try some various lenses to help my reading/distance vision issues. Over the next two months she has created the best eyesight I have had in over a decade. She could have easily fitted me with the same lenses I had, and sent me on my way. Instead she has improved my quality of life, improved comfort during long days of contracts/computer reading, and improved my safety as a pilot. We were looking for an eye doctor in the Plano area and although there were many, we decided to try out this one - mostly because of its central location and the fact that it is open on Saturday's by appointment. First of all there is ample parking available and the building has several other independent medical practitioners so it is almost like a one stop place for your medical needs. My wife and I, had made no appointment but the front desk folks were great about squeezing us in, great flexibility. I would recommend making an appointment though, just so you get the doctor you want. The facility has several eye doctors and a vast selection of contact lenses and eye glasses, if you are just looking at purchasing eye products, I am sure you can bring in your prescription and they would accommodate you, they even have a special area where they show new contact lens patients how to put on and take care of their contact lenses. Once our preliminary exam was complete, we were greeted by Dr. Khoja, she was phenomenal in trying to understand what my daily routine was like, the issues I was facing, she put me at ease (I hadn't been to an optometrist in over 5 years). Once she had completed an interview, she then began a thorough in depth exam. In the end, she shows you a before and after image, to give you an idea of how much of a difference eye glasses/contact lenses would make. I like that they were very honest and practical, based on my prescription, they recommended I get corrective vision to fix my astigmatism but they also suggested that my wife's vision did not require corrective vision at this time. The other thing that is so great is that during your eye exam, the optometrist takes a second look at your previous prescriptions for you in case you wanted a second opinion. We have since moved away from Plano, but we can guarantee that we will be returning back here for any of our family's eye care needs. read more

e wary of the staff. I arrived for my appointment ahead of time and checked in. I stated that I need to visit the lady's room. I was gone shortly and upon returning both the gentlemen that arrived after me we not in the waiting area. I sat down and waited. After 25 minutes, I asked the girl up front to verify my appt time. I thought I might of had the wrong time. She said I had the right time and would check with the doctors assistant. After speaking to the assistant, she came up to me and informed me that they had an emergency come in and that I could wait. I said okay. I don't think she even heard me because she seems to be on a mission to get me out of there. She started telling me I know this has happen to you before. I just looked at her trying to understand what she was getting at because I had never had any issues. Then she began to instruct me to continue with my drops until my next appt. She did not confer with the doctor and just diagnosed me herself. I got up and said okay, I had not set another appointment and asked what appointment are you talking about. After figuring out that matter, I looked up and 2 other employees were just standing there looking at me and whispering to each other. I have never been treated like this before. They made me feel like I had Covid or something. The doctor stated last time we spoke of putting me on prescription drops and now the girl tells me to continue with the over the counter drops for another 6 months. I never raised my voice and just left the office, but then called back after thinking...what just happened to me. I told them how rude and unprofessional I felt I was treated. I had driven 30 miles to come there and had been a patient for the last 6 years. I proceed to request that they remove my husband and I from their patient list. read more

I love the docs here. If I was just rating them it would be 5 stars. BUT the office staff/office manager makes this experience horrible. First I was told my insurance was out of network and had changed names. I called my insurance, they are in network and did not have a name change, but had partnered with another company. I called the office back, was told that they didn't explain it well to me and got me an appointment. Great. Appointment went well until it was time to pay. My part should have been $70 ($35 exam/$35 contact lens fitting) but I was charged $160+. The office manager said that only the exam was in network (even though I was showing them my coverage on line) and if the only charged me $35 for the contact part, they wouldn't get paid. Not really my problem and when I called my insurance (after paying and leaving) they also called the office and said it was an issue with them not knowing how to file. So beware of the billing end and know you insurance benefits in advance because they won't! read more
