There were a few things that didn't work well for me. When I arrived there were no towels and no soap as well as no ice bucket. I asked for soap and towels got them both, didn't need the ice bucket but I noticed it wasn't there. Not sure if they usually give them as I didn't see an ice machine anywhere but didn't look very hard either. The soap they brought me was dish soap. Strange but maybe he just grab the wrong one because it looks like a regular hand soap bottle not like a dawn type bottle. With the exception of 2 outlets all the rest didn't work, thete are 6 total outlets. The plug kept falling out and wouldn't charge. It kept tilting so there was no contact. The one in bathroom worked fine and the one in the lamp worked but it was not near the bed so you cant use your phone or tablet while in bed. The lamp was awful. Broken shade falling off of it. I dealt with these issues just fine just little annoying. The rest was great! Lock on room door easy to use the key. Ac worked beautifully. Bed good the blankets were great. TV worked easy it was directv. Plenty extra chairs. Good refridgerator. Only major issue was I was in the handicap room per my request. I couldn't take a shower because it wasn't for handicap. The only thing handicap about the room is that its easy to roll a wheelchair around and there are bars in the bathroom. But its a tub w shower head but no seat to sit on to shower. So I had to take a sponge bath. That was a big hassle as I've been on the road and really was looking forward to that. I won stay here again if they fix that issue. All they need is a chair that can be set in there...even a plastic patio chair would do. I hope they fix those items cause I liked the location close to freeway, quiet, close to food and very nice people. read more

This motel gave me my confidence back, it deserves to be rectified in updated review. The owner has made a huge effort in making changes and keep the guests comfortable. I guess I'll start with the continental breakfast, which was a pleasant surprise! When we checked in, I noticed the lil stand that had the coffee pot & a mini fridge was gone. I just assumed they no longer did that anymore. Wrong! He opened up space next to the motel office & added more options and new coffee & cappuccino machine, toaster, waffemaker, eggs (assuming boiled?) cereal dispenser, more pastries & fruit options etc. What a treat that was, the cappuccino was good and tasted like it came from a donut shop-I like! The rooms appeared to have been redone, hopefully all of them- ours had newer carpet and wooden blind instead of the old typical thick black out panels and I noticed a sign in the office that stated it was a non-smoking community. But....(here I go) there's ashtrays on every AC unit on each room & assuming it's for the smokers to smoke outside, they'll stand or sit right in front of their rooms, so I don't understand how it's supposed to be non smoking if there's people smoking in front of the rooms. I get to each is own, but it's only fair since we end up being forced inhaling it, that they should implement smoking within 20 ft from motel. The internet seems to have a lot stronger signal. Our stay for two nights on a weekend was quiet. Lot more people staying there now and people were respectful or maybe we were just lucky it was just quiet. There's a Dollar Tree, Am Pm Gas station & Full service Stater's that was the only market that had a larger selection of beer; (the other Liquor stores near it had few select Craft & IPA's) maybe it's people like us who don't live there and the locals are big Hangar fans (Redlands Brewery) All & all it's gotten much better. The man here is extremely rude. Accused me of having more people in my room and charged me a 150$ "fee" for it. He was also scolding me like a child. Don't stay here, rooms aren't even great and refrigerators don't work. I stayed for 3 nights and not once did he come knocking on my door saying I had extra people. He also claimed there was a video camera right in front of my door, I thought that was odd. Just wanted to get and extra buck. read more

My son and I were traveling so that he could take his SAT at Yucaipa High School, and this Inn was very close. It was perfect for what we needed. 2 queen beds, had refrigerator and a microwave. Room was clean yet simple. The price point was great and it was 2 miles from where he had to take the test. I actually left my duffel bag in the room and the manager called me letting me know I had left it there. That shows the integrity and honesty of the staff and management. It is a great place to stay and there's great restaurants in walking distance as the night clerk had let me know. Great little hidden gem if you want a solid place to stay. The manager Jay is very accommodating and does everything he can to make sure the guests are taken care of. Don't be afraid to ask him for anything because he is more than willing to help if he can. The rooms were clean. The beds were comfortable. The showers were hot. Called this place 2 minutes before I got here and asked if they had a room the guys says yes do you want 1 bed 2 beds I told him I'm ok with whatever he says ok I pull up and say I just called and he tell me I am sold out mind you I'm full of tattoos. Do I tell him I just called and you asked if I wanted 1 or 2 beds he says you didn't call here . So I say ok take a step by and call again and what do you know the phone rings and tells me get out !! read more

At first our room looked very clean but our tile floors were sticky and we found a short & curly hair that didn't belong to either of us in our bed. The lady at the desk was polite and we paid only 50 bucks. I'd recommend staying somewhere else if money isn't that much of a decision making factor. read more

This place greatly exceeded my expectations and I was very happy here. I had a change of plans and needed to find a place to stay later that day. Because it was just a place for me and my niece to meet sleep before our real vacation began, I was looking for something affordable and on route. This place was priced significantly lower than other options and had an average rating of only 3 stars so I wasn't expecting much but this place proved me wrong. I checked in at 8:40pm that night (normal check in is anytime after 2pm). The front desk agent was very friendly and the check in process was smooth. He sternly warned that smoking is not allowed in the rooms and that there is a $250 charge if we do smoke but I did not take his warning as being mean but, instead, as just warning us that they take their smoking vs. no smoking rooms policy seriously which, being a nonsmoker, I appreciated. I don't like sleeping in stanky rooms and my room smelled fresh and clean. The room was also very clean with thoughtful touches such as toothbrushes, a microwave and a fridge. The only drawback was the slow wifi and that the towels are thin and small. There was a stain on the shower curtain that I, at first worried was mildew, but under closer inspection, I saw that the shower curtain was clean and the stain looked like something that just didnt come out with washing. In other words, the place was very clean and well kept and I felt very comfortable there. Overall, I thought this hotel was an excellent value for the price paid and that the overall value exceeded my expectations and the drawbacks were negligible. We slept comfortably and the next morning, grabbed breakfast and ate it in the room. We were surprised by how many options were available. There was coffee, cappuccino and orange juice. They also had a waffle maker, oatmeal, fruits, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, pastries and more. We did NOT expect such a generous spread. Checkout was smooth. read more

One nights stay at this place was more than an enough. Since we were aware that Yucaipa was a small town with limited hotels, we came upon this location after hearing that another hotel was also kind of shady and dirty. America's Best Value Inn is no laughing matter. It resembles a scene of a horror film, with no real food establishments nearby. The online advertisement was a total lie with amenities such as a pool and basketball being offered in addition to breakfast. In reality, you got a small dark room with blankets that had a horrible texture, a single basketball hoop in the parking lot and the only pool we could find was the puddle of water that remained in the parking lot. In addition, breakfast consisted of coffee and krispy kreme doughnuts. Lastly, it's worth mentioning there were countless dead moths along the window, definitely not a pleasurable sight. One star hotel indeed, especially considering that there was a moth massacre, but as always free TV. Traumatizing experience, will sleep in car if no hotel is found next time. read more

This Hotel was a great surprise and since it was full it seems to be a secret place for many people. The room was exceptionally clean and very well maintained. Hosts were helpful and polite. We will stay here again. All this and it is a budget hotel. read more

Worst place ever. They charged for 2 rooms when we only got one the switched us rooms cause we noticed it had bed bugs. That's their excuse for charging for 2 rooms. then charged for $50 said we used to much water. We didn't even shower! Stay away from here. Go to beaumont cause the other one in calimesa has roaches. read more

UPDATE: I saw the response from Ajay and wanted to comment... Sorry buddy, I have a few problems with your reply. First thing is that our car was loaded with all of our bags when this conversation took place just after 10AM. Secondly, I wrote this review several months after we stayed there. I find it VERY hard to believe that you were able to find our reservation AND housekeeping reports 2 years after this took place. Nice try. Run Down, Dirty and HORRIBLE Customer Service!!! In town for my Grandmother's funeral. We had booked a two night stay at this hotel after arriving in town. After the first night, we realized that the place was completely outdated, absolutely unsanitary and disgusting! We went looking for a different hotel and found a new Holiday Inn Express closer to Yucaipa. We came back to the front desk of the America's Best Value to inform them that we would not be staying the second night. The guy at the front desk, with a thick Indian accent, told us that we would still be charged us for the second night (mind you, it's ~10am!). He went on to tell us that the Hotel is full and he has to charge us for holding the spot... one minor detail that I forgot to tell you is that..... THE PARKING LOT WAS EMPTY! There were MAYBE three cars and we didn't see more than 1 couple our entire time we were there! My dad told him that he understood (just to be nice), but that his Mom had passed away and we were in town for her funeral. This guy started SCREAMING at the top of his lungs, calling my Dad a liar! Telling him that my Grandma did NOT die, and that he was lying to get out of paying the bill! My dad offered to show him a death certificate, and still screaming he essentially told us to 'pack sand'... Honestly, I'm surprised that the police weren't involved, because if we would have stayed in that tiny office 30 more seconds, I think my Dad would have ended up in jail... As horrible as the story is, the title of this review tells the whole story. And none of my family will EVER do business with any America's Best Value Inn ever again! read more

Stayed here after a wedding in Yucaipa. I'd never stayed in this particular chain of motels before but I will definitely be doing so in the future. The place was very clean, plenty of amenities, the staff was very nice and able to accommodate my last-minute requests and changes. Anybody complaining about this place obviously doesn't have much experience with staying in motels, because this is probably the nicest, most well stocked, cleanest, and CHEAPEST motel i've ever been in. The breakfast leaves a bit to be desired, but you can't complain about free food. read more

There was not much to like about the hotel. I will NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone whom I know. The owners skimp on what appears to be everything. Towels were limited for 4 of us, and clerk was reluctant to provide us with additional low quality towels. The toilet paper appeared to be thinner than 1 ply (if that is possible). Everyone of us experienced black dirty underside of our feet, after showering. The advertised "breakfast" is mostly a misnomer because it is a continental breakfast. Although I prepaid for two night stay, we decided to not stay the 2nd night and just forfeit the payment. I booked through Expedia and am surprised they list the hotel, as an offering. read more

It WAS clean, but very very funky (and not in a good way)! The reason I gave this motel a poor instead of terrible rating was that it WAS clean. I had read the favorable reviews and ended up booking 2 nights at this motel because it was close to family members I was visiting in Yucaipa. I had thought of staying in Redlands, which has more motel choices but is farther away, and will definitely do that next time. Maybe I had a room that was not remodeled but others were, but it was a blast from the past, but not the good kind, like a favorite old song. Also, if there were better rooms I would think I would have been offered them, since there were hardly any other guests. The furniture, countertops and sink were circa 1970 and in poor condition. One faucet handle was missing a part. I'm not opposed to old furniture and decor; and have stayed in motels that retain the 1950s theme and have done it well. But this room was like a junk room that was used to store cast-off furniture that you wouldn't want in your home. I always check the mattress for dirt and signs of bedbugs, and this one appeared to be fairly new and clean, but it was extremely hard. The price was good - $121 for 2 days, including tax, but for an extra $30 (+ or -) I would book a better motel. read more
