If you are looking to custom build; they are the best game in town. I am a new home sales agent with a local builder. They build a fantastic home but do not build on private land so my husband I began our search. We went thru several builders and experiences before we found AHP. We are in the process of building a home with AHP. So far, everyone we have worked with has been stellar. We are moving from out of state and they have jumped through hoops to help make it as painless as possible. I have been in the building industry and have bought and built several homes and they have a great system in place for getting what you are looking for. For us, so far it has been the best of both worlds, getting a custom feel without all the headaches of starting with a blank sheet. Wasted a whole day. Sent an email asking to receive further information about this builder. Received an ebook for some of their floor plans and got an immediate phone call requesting we schedule appointment. I stated we would like to meet with someone on a Saturday due to my husband's schedule. Was provided appointment as requested and the scheduler stated they would appreciate a call if we weren't going to be able to make it so as to free up the time for someone else. We arrived a little early (10 minutes) and waited for someone to come open the place up. There were two employees there and neither seemed aware of our appointment. Another couple who was waiting before us started talking to the sales lady so we stood around waiting. The other young lady who was there made a comment about someone not showing up and suggested we go walk through the models. Well over two hours later we were still waiting so we walked back to the office area. The women were inside talking with no one else around. The sales person began asking us a few questions and then as we got around to our questions she kept saying we can do anything you want. No real discussion about how to get started, just "we can do anything". No idea how much "anything" was actually going to cost. She was courteous enough to print a couple floor plans and then left us go on our way. Totally a whole day wasted! read more

We bought a piece of land, and had America's home Place build us a house. Honestly, there were a few hiccups along the way but once they removed the hiccup everything started flowing. Alfred and Ian take their job seriously and are very customer oriented, which they should be. We are currently living in the home and yes there are some issues... But that's to be expected on a new build. They have been very responsive. I believe I am dealing with good people. read more

Unless you want headaches, heartaches, heartburn, and all things negative, stay away from this company. Although a few employees are just nice, honest people trying to support their families, the GM calls the shots and will do whatever it takes to cut corners so he can earn a buck. He'll grin while he lies to you. How did they do us wrong? Let me count just ways: 1. the top 4 ways. 1. Jacked house price by $15k the day before closing on the loan (3 months into planning process and 6 weeks after getting our signed contract and down payment) 2. Spent 7 weeks digging our basement with a bobcat (yes, you read correctly) and dug it 2 feet too shallow for the agreed upon elevation which meant major steps from the garage into the house or lots of grading/concrete to make our house now up on a hill 3. Took 10 1/2 months to build after repeatedly telling us 4 to 6 months (caused by lack of contractors and not weather). 4. Wet basement....We reported it in January while still building but were given multiple excuses why it would not be wet after gutters, grading, siding, etc. We've been in the house 4 months and still have a wet basement with mold growing in it. We have a signed agreement stating they would "waterproof" the basement as part of our settlement to move in. Another lie as they now claim that our basement is doing fine and any moisture issues are OUR fault even though we have a dehumidifier rated for 7500sf in a 2500sf basement We have multiple hydrometers to ensure that the humidity is correct in the basement. The contractor they hired to put a bandaid on the leaking areas even told us that what they were hiring him to do would not "waterproof" the basement but would simply stop the leak in those spots BUT that the water would come in elsewhere for sure due to the horrific honeycombing and popcorning of our concrete walls.
