I have been going to the store in Berkley for 2 years now and filling up my stamp albums. If I have a question about a stamp that I can't identify where it is from or when, I can always count on Karl and Todd to help me out. I just ordered some stamps from them via e-mail since they are closed to in-store business due to the Covid-19. They are always happy to help. Look forward to being able to go into the store again. My dad is a stamp collector, so when I find myself at a loss for a gift idea (which is often), I stop by this place for a gift certificate. It's really a fascinating place. The shop buys, trades and sells various collectibles, mainly stamps and coins. It also has all of the accessories needed (mounts, albums, whatever) for a stamp or coin collector. I'm usually there on Saturdays, and they have a free hot dog lunch every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. If you're into stamp or coin collecting, this would be a fun place to explore. read more

Like everyone else in the world, I inherited a stamp collection that I know nothing about. Some cursory Ebay browsing indicated that, while my grandpa's collection was broad and not expert-level, there might be some gems in it. Also, it was really in need of organizing and some expert advice would be good. Google reviews seemed great for this place, so I went in today. When the older gentleman got to me, I explained all of the above. No exaggeration here. Absolute honesty. He flipped through the pages for approximately 45 seconds, didnt even examine a single stamp, and said (VERBATIM), "there's nothing of value here." I asked, "what? There's 100's of stamps. Lots from Germany and Europe. Seriously? " He replied, "yeah, they're all pretty common." Here's the best part: he said (VERBATIM), "you ever have a garage sale? Put this in your sale for $20 and be happy if you get $10." The end. Do not recommend. Waste of time and an absolutely garbage experience. read more

There are very few brick and mortar stamp stores left in the country, but this one is an absolute gem. Todd is exceptionally knowledgeable and more than willing to guide collectors to make wise decisions. I've only had a chance to visit his store a few times (when we travel to visit family in Michigan), since restarting the hobby when I retired a few years ago. But his advice and honest dealing makes each trip worthwhile. When it comes time for me or my heirs to sell my collection, I would not hesitate to sell to Todd at America's Stamp Stop. Its a bit unfortunate that there are a couple of poor reviews on Yelp, but they appear to reflect a lack of knowledge about collecting. For example Anna likely expected that her grandfather's collection might have something of value in it, but the vast majority of old collections only contain common material of no commercial value to a retailer. Even with my very limited knowledge, I could probably make a 99.9% accurate assessment of a collection having something of value in it, by spending no more than a minute looking at a few key pages of an album. read more

Made the journey from Lansing today. Very glad I did. Breathtaking selection, great service, better than reasonable prices and just a good place to be. Exceeded every expectation I had. If you're a stamp collector in Michigan, don't hesitate to make the trip. There is more stamp material at this location than you might find at a stamp show. do not sell stamps to this business. they will lowball you telling you that your stuff is worthless and then a week later the material will be in their showcases for 10-20 times what they paid for it. every business has to make money but do not lie to people and tell them their stuff is worthless and then pull that. pay $1 and sell for $5, sure.
