Simply an amazing stay! I spent the evening with my parents who were visiting from Florida. Kim and Susan were the prefect hosts and they are so helpful to give us recommendations on the local restaurants and attractions. We choose to have our dinner at Rosemary & Thyme, we had a wonderful relaxing evening as our pre Thanksgiving festivities Our evening was topped off with admiring the historic home of Susan and Kim's while sipping our evening wine in the dinning room. We had some tea too in our room. Our room was super spacious and quiet. We stayed in the Magnolia Room. The bed and the sheets were very comfortable. Susan made us an amazing breakfast! So filling! But so worth it! And the coffee was excellent! We hope to come back again and tour more of the local attractions! And as Kim recommended the Little Drummer Boy Museum at Andersonville is a first stop before heading to the historic site! read more

My wife and I just stayed three nights at Americus Garden Inn Bed and Breakfast. The property is a beautiful home built in 1847. Our room was large with a large bathroom. The shower was most excellent. Our hosts, Kim and Susan, were fabulous. The meals provided were extraordinaire. I don't know how this is has received so many 5 star reviews. I think we're being generous with 3. The positives: the breakfast is delicious, the dining room always has drinks and snacks out and the inside of the inn is clean. The not so positive: the outside of the inn is very poor shape (see photos). The inn keepers mentioned SEVERAL times of all the projects they were doing but never saw any work being done in 3 days. The non-antique chairs in the room need replacement. There is no comfortable sitting. The decor/wallpaper could use updating. In my opinion it's more 1980s than 1880s. read more

I spent 3 nights at the Americus Garden Inn Bed & Breakfast. The hosts were amazing. Seeing that it is a bed and breakfast remember that breakfast is promptly served at the time you are told. This is understandable as the chef as to accommodate all guests and works very hard to make sure all items served are hot and fresh. Next, they have a certain check in and check out time that you need to abide by, which is also understandable! It is a husband and wife team who owns the place and they do not have multiple employees. My room was very clean and the bed was so comfortable that I even took a short nap one day! The sheets were super soft. I need to find out what kind they are because they were amazing. My room had a jacuzzi and I used it often to relax. Take time to explore the home a little, it's gorgeous! I sat in the piano room (parlor) and listened to piano music on my phone and took time to look through some of the historic photo albums. I loved waking up to the smell of freshly baked muffins each morning. It took me back to fond memories waking up at my grandmas house when I would stay the night at her house. Oh my gosh! We were greeted like we had known them forever. We were exhausted from driving away from Hurricane Ian and they suggested places to get a great meal in downtown Americus. The rooms were spacious and very clean. The next morning we were greeted with a cup of coffee and the breakfast....unbelievable presentation and it was fantastic! Look at my pictures. Susan you're a great cook. Kim has a wealth of knowledge on things to see and in what order to see them too. Plains Georgia, Andersonville, The Windsor Hotel (great food and cold drinks) everything one could do around Americus. Kim and Susan are unbelievably nice and caring innkeepers. We love to travel and have stayed in Bed & Breakfast Inns as often as possible. I am a history lover and my husband is a gardener supreme. With a combination of our interests we found Americus Garden Inn Bed & Breakfast to be exceptional. The first day we arrived it was raining and Susan met us at our car with an umbrella to escort us into the home. When you enter the home, there is an atmosphere of elegance and comfort. Susan showed us around and we later spent some time reading some of the history of the home and Americus. Later that day we walked around the spacious garden and appreciated just how much effort goes into maintaining such a variety of trees, bushes and flowers. Knowing how much work a large garden is, we were amazed to learn that Kim does it all himself! We stayed in the Library Room, which was very comfortable and beautifully decorated. Our first morning we were greeted by a delicious gourmet breakfast. The food was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. Susan is a masterful cook and she takes care in the presentation of her specialties. During breakfast we talked to the other guests and asked Kim a lot of questions. Both Kim and Susan are very knowledgeable about the history of the lovely home and the town of Americus. They stayed with us to answer and advise. We did not learn until later that all the maintenance, cooking and preparing rooms was done by them, without additional help ! Yet they were unhurried and advised us on various things to do. Susan and Kim are welcoming people. They are creative and kind and very hard working. Every area of this lovely home shows their care. I would hope that others will be able to stay and appreciate one of the finest Bed & Breakfast we have ever found. read more

This the second time my husband and I stayed here. This time was our second anniversary, the first time we stayed was four years ago before we were married. It was absolutely amazing both times. Best breakfast I've ever had, the small details were worth every penny. Kim and Susan made it the most memorable stay we've ever had. Such a fabulous way to spend our anniversary and we plan to spend many more here. I recommend to everyone that want to escape reality, dive into a book, watch a movie or play board games. A walk through the garden and birdwatching is my favorite. This isn't just a bed to sleep in; it's an experience (and a wonderful one may I add). I'm not usually a B&B type of traveler. I'm used to the anonymity of hotels, minding my own business and coming and going as I please. But, after researching lodging in Americus, I had a hard time passing up a chance to stay at Americus Garden Inn. It turned out to be a memorable experience. First of all, the house is beautiful, located in the historic district across from a small park. Rooms are spacious and beautifully appointed and painstaking detail has been paid to restoration. The owners will gladly share their knowledge about the house and their experience restoring it. I stayed in the Magnolia Room, a spacious upstairs room that was decorated in calm, soothing yellow tones that invited relaxation. The bathroom was large and everything was very clean. And for such an old house, I never heard a single creak in the floor. I loved the parlor on the first floor, a great place to sit and relax, read a book or visit with other guests. It's right next to the dining room, where snacks and drinks are available 24 hours a day. The hosts truly want you to feel at home. It's also where breakfast is served, a breakfast unlike any other I've had on the road. A lot of thought and attention is put into the menu and we enjoyed heirloom cornmeal pancakes among other things. Recipes are unique and Susan is creative and playful in the kitchen which provides for a delightful breakfast. The attention to detail is impressive and Kim and Susan have seemingly thought of everything. They're also a font of knowledge regarding area attractions. And because I had such a terrific experience, I've comfortably chosen to use B&Bs during subsequent travels. This was one of the best stays I've ever had, in any type of lodging. read more

This beautiful historical home was built before the civil war in 1847. The owners, Kim and Susan, have taken the original beauty of the home and added there own special hospitality to provide a wonderful bed and breakfast. The entire home is spacious, clean and all the southern charm of beauty and graciousness. My sister and I stayed in the Magnolia Suite with a private bath and fabulous sheets! The next morning we enjoyed Susan's delicious gourmet breakfast. The menu included: pumpkin muffins (with a birthday candle and song for me), fresh strawberries (with Greek yogurt, grapes and pomegranate), mini frittatas and nutty oatmeal pancakes. The best Bed & Breakfast experience I ever had. The house is beautifully located, very quiet, and full of history (which you can hear all about after checking in if you want to). There are little touches in every corner that make your stay really special. And the attention to detail by Susan and Kim is outstanding. They really go above and beyond. You will get a comfortable stay and a decent breakfast in many places. But this one is different. The breakfast is a feast. And they don't only give you recommendations on what to see or where to eat, no, they will want to get to know you, so they can fine tune their attention exactly to your liking. They will respect your privacy if desired, or they will engage in a deep conversation about pretty much anything with you, not shying away from difficult topics. One of the Best Bed & Breakfast Inns we have stayed in. The Inn Keepers were gracious, hospitable, and friendly. Susan is a fabulous chef providing a delicious breakfast which her husband Kim served up with good morning cheer. Kim also walked with us through his beautiful & serene garden in the early evening when we returned from dinner. We are gardeners so a visit with him learning the stories of his garden was a perfect way to end the day. The home is beautiful as well but people make a house a home. We will go back!!! read more

When you first walk into the back door (front is a emergency exit only) you step back into a simpler time. The house has been kept as close to possible to period. Minus new health and safety codes. The host is very knowledgeable about the house history and very friendly. We have enjoyed our stay. The house is simply amazing to see. The floors do not even creek when you walk! Without a doubt the best bed and breakfast I have stayed at. Amazing hosts, beautiful property, the room was more than perfect and the breakfast was beyond delicious. Our stay was a surprise gift to my wife for her birthday. We had not been before so I was kind of nervous but it turned out to be the best birthday weekend I have been able to give her in our 12 years of marriage. The beds were extremely comfy and the sheets/bedding felt like heaven. We have already planned a second trip for our anniversary a little later this year. Definitely getting the jacuzzi room again. The jacuzzi was big enough for both of us and I am a big dude. Thanks again to Kim and Susan for being such excellent hosts and providing such an excellent stay for us. If I wanted to run the very best B&B in America, I would keep pictures of the Americus Garden B&B and owners Kim and Susan Egelseer in front of me so I would know what the standards are supposed to be. Even so, I could never reach their level! It's more than their beautiful, immaculate 1847 home. It's more than the lovely, quiet park and gardens that surround their property. It's even more than Susan's wonderful breakfasts! Kim and Susan are the consummate hosts. You really do feel like you've come home. Kim draws on his encyclopedia knowledge of the area to give you all the information to make your stay memorable. And Susan has a warmth and genuineness rarely found. My daughters and granddaughter treated me to a "girls' weekend" at the beautiful Americus Garden Inn to celebrate a milestone birthday. All of us were treated like royalty, way over and above what might be expected from a bed and breakfast hotel. Words can't describe the beautifully plated and marvelously delicious breakfasts our host Susan made for us, including gluten-free pumpkin muffins, homemade applesauce and fresh pomegranates -- a different treat each morning. Kim, her husband and co-host, went out of his way to chat with us, tell us about the attractions nearby and how to get there, and make fresh coffee for us when we returned. The inn itself and the gorgeous, still-blooming gardens (even in late October!) were just magnificent. Everything was meticulously clean and sparkling.
