We choose to have our dinner at Rosemary & Thyme, we had a wonderful relaxing evening as our pre Thanksgiving festivities Our evening was topped off with admiring the historic home of Susan and Kim's while sipping our evening wine in the dinning room. We had some tea too in our room. Our room was super spacious and quiet. We stayed in the Magnolia Room. The bed and the sheets were very comfortable. Susan made us an amazing breakfast! So filling! But so worth it! And the coffee was excellent! We hope to come back again and tour more of the local attractions! And as Kim recommended the Little Drummer Boy Museum at Andersonville is a first stop before heading to the historic site!

Let's address my issues: 1. Very few guests are currently staying at the Quality Inn Americus. I should not have to walk across the property to my room. There must have been an open room closer. Seriously, the place was empty. 2. I was not able to get into my room and had to run back to the office. The manager also could not get in, but had an electronic device that disabled the lock. I told him not to worry about the keys as I would be up and out in the morning. 3. Upon getting into my room I soon tried to sleep yet was awoken by the guests attempting to access the next room. They too could not get in and the manager again had to be called to use his door opener. (Yeah, it is strange that all those rooms are vacant, everyone had to be in one area.) 4. A hot shower....Nah... here you get a luke warm shower. 5. There was holes in the wall.... No comment... 6. The front door would not fully shut unless I gave it a hard kick. Fellow travelers... cheaper, but so is a roach motel.

I was told by an associate at that location it would be both times, both times stated qith no charge. So, upon our arrival, Gaykay started the experience poorly. He was sleeping on the couch when we arrived. Came to the door with no shoes on. He proceeded to tell me there was a $40 charge to start at 1am. His voice matching the associate I spoke with on 2 separate occassions, but because I couldn't prove it was him, I reluctantly paid the additional charge. Upon arriving in the room, it was really gross. The bathroom area was a disaster. It looked like someone was aiming for the walls, if you catch my drift. The toilet had dust and hair all over it. The tub looked like those overexaggerated Bath Fitter commercials, as if it hadn't been scrubbed in years. Even with a request to clean the bathroom, it was still in shambles. I was also told if I was a Choice Rewards member, breakfast would be comped. Gaykay said there would be a charge. At that point I had enough of the extras being tacked on, and asked to speak to the manager. He relented and offered breakfast for the remainder of the stay, because he too, was trying to lie about the number I called being the corporate line. Keep in mind this number was on his business card AND the front of the building, AND much of the literature associated with this location. The staff outside of Gaykay, was exceptional. They are the ones who salvaged some stars. The young lady in the restaurant was extraordinarily accommodating. The young ladies who took over the front desk after Gaykay's shift were marvelous. The cleaning crew that I encountered were sweet and pleasant. Would I stay here again? Only if it was gutted, renovated, and completely fresh. It was clearly a motel in the area that was purchased by the Choice Group, slapped together with some mild upgraded, and rebranded.

What followed was a freaking nightmare. First room the key did not work, but the door opened. Clothes strewn about, lights on, room was occupied! I immediately backed out and apologized. I can only guess they were in the bathroom cowering and glad I was not shot !! 2nd room was supposed to be non-smoking but immediately upon opening it was evident it was not. Phew!! 3rd time was the charm. First 2 rooms were a scramble to get to, the 3rd room was only steps away. Why was not that room offered first?. Extremely disappointing, scary, and frustrating! I had already booked the following weekend here and it was just as disappointing as this stay !!

He had to tell her again and in our room the toilet was leaking, the tub was dirty/messed up and the 2 towels they had in the bathroom was dirty.. as you can see in the pictures one of the towels had a BLACK piece of HAIR on it and dirt but you couldn't see the dirt so I didn't take a picture of it.. I know it wasn't my hair because 1. My hair is BLUE 2. It was on the towel when I unwrapped the towel and the 2nd towel had black head prints all over it so my boyfriend when to get some clean towels, he asked the lady at the window for clean towels and she said (with a ATTITUDE) '' y'all need more towels already''' and he had to tell her '' our towels are dirty so yeah we need more do you want to see them? So she made him bring her the towels before giving us new ones. Even though this motel is cheap... I wouldn't recommend staying here.

He was surprised and said he couldn't smell anything. Desk clerk gives me keys for 113. I go to 113 and open the door to find a group of adults eating, smoking and watching television. I returned to the front desk and the clerk was surprised. I had the impression that they were friends of the staff and were not checked into the hotel. The next room was 228 in the back of the hotel. The AC worked to cover the smoking smell of the last inhabitants. A quick check of the room showed that the toilet had not been scrubbed in weeks. There was sloppy paint over the tub and the walls. We will not use the shower! See enclosed images ! I will never recommend an EconoLodge again!

We immediately close the door, went back upfront and they did not have another room with double beds. There were lots of people hanging out on the balconies and on the porches around the balconies, People drinking in lawn chairs on the stoop. We are not prudish and if the bed had been made and the room was clean we would've stayed there anyway... Just wanted you to know what you're in for. This is really a pay by the week kind of place where people itinerantly live there. Now you know .
