Lee S. I paid more than $1111 and got nothing, one of the biggest rip off company that I dealt with. This is how it went: I asked for delivery before they inspect the tank for leak a week later they send a delivery truck he did not deliver because of gas leak, that cost me more than$129. About 10 days later they send a tech to fix the leak that cost me more than $440 and leak was not fixed. I called a different co. in 3 days and one visit leak was fixed and gas was delivered. After about 5 or more phone calls (average one hour...) Amerigas wants me to wait 4 weeks to get rest of my $, maybe. read more

When the gas delivery was made, the truck spilled a large amount of oil on our new driveway. I contacted customer support several times. A few weeks later the district manager contacted me for information. I explained about the oil spill and sent him pictures. I also requested cleanup. He said he would follow up. He never got back to me. Over the next few months I emailed him directly and contacted customer support several times and they said they would have him call me. I even went thru the resolutions department and still no response. I have never dealt with worst customer service than this. My hope is that upper management sees this and deals with their lack of customer service from their district manager. Most companies want customers for life. This is the exact opposite. They give me the impression that they do not care for their customers at all. I cannot recommend Amerigas due to this poor service. To Amerigas upper management I recommend you train your district manager in proper customer service procedures and to respond to customers rather than ignore them and to issue a written apology to me for this unacceptable level of customer service. read more

If I were you I would immediately seek another propane company. The local office is good. But anytime I call I get the national office call center in India or the Philippines. It difficult to understand but most importantly the service is horrible! It's just a matter of what bayou call as to what you're told. Amerigas's prices are much higher than the surrounding companies. I am on auto fill but have to continually call. When prices are low they fill my tank when it gets to 40%. When prices are high they will let my take get down to 10-20% so they can gouge you. I was told I was eligible for a senior discount. I was given a two cent discount. My tank is 25 years old. When I called about having it painted I was told I had to pay for it even though I lease my tank. I asked that the credit on my account be refunded to me. I was told it would take about 2 weeks. I called a week later to check and was told there was no indication I requested a refund. I requested again and was told it will take 4-6 weeks. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was told it should take about 2 weeks "depending on the mail". I have a portable generator that run on propane and gasoline. I asked about attaching a connection so I could connect it to my tank in case out power outages. The service technician came out to look and order a needed part. He never replied. I called after about 3 weeks and was told the needed part was not available. A few weeks later I asked a n Amerigas driver about it and was told they do it all the time. I stopped and asked another companies driver, who was serving a neighbor, about the hook up. He looked at my tank and generator and showed me that he had the part on his truck. Obviously the Amergas technician never tried to order the part. If you can't get off propane, look for a company other than Amerigas. read more

We are on "Keep Full" yet we have to call for delivery because they only seem to come out when propane prices are high. It has been over a year since they came out. We are now around 10% full. How is that "Kept Full"? Now, even when you call the local number you are routed to a call center. I have been trying since last week to get a delivery yet nothing has happened. I'm over it! Thankfully I own my tank and can easily go with someone else. Someone truly local. read more

Sounds like all the calls are routed through someplace over seas so I haven't been able to speak to anyone locally. Been waiting 7 days for a delivery and can't get an update. They might have the product but they damn sure don't have any customer service!!!! read more

if no stars were an option, that's what I would select. Been trying to get propane since Monday(12/19/22). Promised it by Wednesday(12/21).. they finally come out today(12/22) and fill up "our" tank. But really, they messed up and filled up our neighbors and marked ours as delivered. then we were back on the schedule for the next day 12/23 (after trying to get someone on the phone from 4:30 until 8pm) We have a 500 gal tank that was at 30% when the inspector came out that Tuesday... our neighbor has a 250 gal tank that was at 55% that has called and asked to be filled up but it "isn't low enough to be filled" (their words). So delivery guy show up to "our house" with a different address (ours is on the front of our house). Sees a 250 gal tank that's too full to fill up and decides to put propane in it... when the order says 250 gal to a 500 gal tank... Additionally, they outsource ALL of their calls which is even more annoying because all of the people just say "I'm sorry, i cannot help you." At least after the 30 min hold time on the "emergency leak" line (it was my last resort) a local person got us on the schedule for 8am 12/24. Fast forward to 9:30am, we get a text saying "tried to deliver, unable to because the tank is full". Now, our tank is at 25%, with a cold front, 2 small children, and a "territory manager" that refuses to call us back. The level of competence in some people these days is TERRIFYING. Lessons learned, guess we'll be using a different company from now on. Amerigas is what's wrong with the world. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. read more

On May 23 I placed a tank fill order online and paid for it. The delivery was estimated to be between the 26 and 30th. That is what it says online. I called the office and spoke to Beatrice. She was not helpful or even sympathetic. When she told me my delivery would be June 1st I asked why. The reason? They haven't had a truck in the area. I have a small tank and only needed 125 gallons. I am located 5miles from the staging area. In a week they couldn't have come by and filled my tank? Ridiculous! Not using these guys again. I've never had a problem before but this is terrible customer service. Back to Hops I go. read more

This has to be the worst company on the planet. They never answer the phone and have a robot that tells you that customer service is their top priority before it hangs up in you. They routinely sell propane for above the market value, and require you to rent a tank from them, which also means you cannot shop around for cheaper propane.
