Came here to get my RV BBQ propane tank refilled. The price was good, $2.59/gal. - about $12 to fill a BBQ tank. Service was friendly but noticeably understaffed and very busy, was second in line and waited around 25 minutes for someone to take my money after the tank was filled. In that time, about seven more people showed up and were all waiting too. Apparently only one employee could ring customers up and she was insanely busy doing everything, including loading trucks and running a forklift in the back. Two days later I received a bill for a fill that I did not order, I checked the tank and found no gas has been delivered. After 15+ hours on the phone with off-shore customer service. Customer service is in the Philippines or India. Lot of promises but no resolution. This company doesn't even deserve 1 star. read more

Horrible customer service! They truly don't care and don't listen to you! Monday 1/15 They had a random delivery attempt and it looks like they filled my fathers rv/trailer tank but turned off his gas. We are assuming maybe they smell something and since my dad wasn't home they locked it. But nobody can confirm anything. Service Tag said to call next day to set up to reinstate service. Always current on bill, always pay on time. They told us earliest delivery was in 4 days. On the 19th. I asked to speak to supervisor since it's winter, a senior citizen leaves alone. The lady cold transfer me to a different department in mid sentence and it was a voicemail asking me to enter a phone number. I had to call back and then was transferred to a supervisor. Sup took info told me same thing, earliest would be in four days. But that she would put request for service department to call me back to schedule something sooner. But to our dismay we never got a callback all week and they never showed up because appointment was never put in their system!!!! So when speaking again to another service rep this morning 1/19 she said earliest was 1/23! I asked to speak to sup again was transferred to sup alex. I was on/off hold for another 30 minutes. Supposedly he submitted a request to escalate and expedite the service check to turn gas back on. I asked what time is his delivery for the 23rd he couldn't confirm and how could I trust that this is even happening at this point because it's 6pm pacific standard time and still no callback from service team or escalations. Your company disabled & turned off his tank for what I am assuming is for safety reasons (and I'm grateful for this) but come on guys what you are doing now is simply wrong and criminal to keep a senior citizen with out gas during winter when this is his place of living! Why is your supervisor team and customer service so horrible that it truly shows that they don't care how they treat us and no follow through since no one in your company is holding them accountable!! I am still waiting for a real competent manager that cares to call me back to resolve this issue. read more

I ordered 100 gallons of gas , I paid in full over the phone , the driver company came back out put another 100 gallons in my tank without my permission , now their saying I owe and their charging fees, I'm on a fixed income and their taking advantage of the disabled that are struggling already, they should charge the trucking company not me , I paid in full for my 100 gallons of gas that I order every 3 or 4 months for that's all I can afford , I have other bills , I can barely feed myself and their taking advantage of people I'm extremely stressed about this whole situation , now I got a letter today saying I must pay bill in full or they will not deliver any more gas until bill is paid Stay far away from this company , I've heard this happening to other folks also its unfortunate that we have to deal with this , it's unfair for their mistakes Stay clear of this company , far away !!! read more

I do not have an Amerigas account. I tried to establish one, but they claimed my address already had an account. The previous owner of my home had an account, which she closed in April, 2019. Amerigas came to the home on the day we closed, and filled the LPG tanks, inspected the tanks, and were notified we'd purchased the home and needed a new account. In September, Amerigas came onto my property and capped off/locked two tanks, one of which they own (had been leased to previous owner), and capped a tank owned by the home. LET ME REITERATE. AMERIGAS BROKE INTO A LOCKED GATE, ON WHICH THERE IS A "NO-TRESPASSING SIGN", AND LOCKED OFF LPG TANKS THEY DO NOT OWN OR LEASE. In any realistic world, this would be breaking and entering, with theft as an add-on. They did not notify us that they were coming, and did not notify us that they'd been. They *broke* through a locked gate, marked "NO TRESPASSING" in order to do so. Then, they wanted a $150.00 inspection fee, wanted to charge us for the gas in the tank that the previous owner paid for, and want another $250 to uncap the tank that is privately owned (same tank they capped without permission). When we threatened them with legal action and going to the BBB, they said "We don't want to do business with you, so 'eff off. " Now we are stuck with locked tanks, can't feed our stove, fireplace, nor spa and it's 30 degrees outside. These are horrible people. I feel the local manager, Mr. Najarian, is a racist, foul-mouthed pig, on top of being a liar with multiple claims about the previous owner of our home not having paid her bills (she sent us a copy of the closed account/paid balances), that the tanks were unsafe (Amerigas inspected the tanks when we took ownership), and that the previous owner had not transferred the fuel to us. She scheduled tank refills when gas was at 30% and BOTH times they didn't come until gas was out and she had to be without heat during winter storms. They are so unorganized one day they filled her neighbors tank when she was OUT and waiting for a refill and had NO CLUE she was in need. I had never had trouble with Amerigas until recently. I scheduled a delivery on line and was give a window of one week. That date came and went so I called the customer service , Out of country although they say they're in Ohio and couldn't make them understand that my delivery hadn't been made. So weeks later I try a different number and it was the same place. No help at all. Asked for a supervisor but never got a call back. Then today I get a text saying they tried to deliver but our driveway had too much ice. I didn't even know they were coming! Our last driver used to back up our driveway and never had trouble no matter what. Our driveway is partially clear down to the asphalt but the point is, there is know way to call the actual office and talk to someone that understands the English language! It's Christmas eve and I hadn't had any propane for three days now. I called Amerigas on 12/22 to ask for an emergency delivery of gas. I was told I would get a delivery that day. We'll is now three days later and I still haven't been able to take a shower, use my oven. Clean my dishes or clothes. Tomorrow is Christmas and I have no idea how I am going to cook the meal. We have been empty for over 48 hours. Started communicating with them when we got to 15%. We were "reassured" that we would last until a refill on 01/06/23. Prior to that we got a refill order for "keep full" on 11/29/22 that was never done. The last service to our tank was 03/19/22 - 10 months ago. Now, the only number we can call, the 1-800 number has customer service reps that are absolutely USELESS. They say they are all in OHIO,m but ALL of them sound like they are in India, no joke! All of them have broken English! All they say they can do is try to reach the truck drivers, but the drivers do not respond to contacts. The next effort was to reach out to the district managers via, not kidding, an email message. They can only email the people via their messaging system. The customer service reps cannot actually contact the people they who could help. We were assured that we would receive a delivery today by the useless call center. We were told we would be "amazed" by the response. But, there was again, no delivery. Actually, we were told this every single day! The customer service line, and for that matter, corporate have no control of the Sparks, Nevada Yard serving the Virginia City Highlands. They make all the promises in the world, but corporate cannot deliver on all the promises because the Sparks, NV yard is running rogue. They do whatever the "F" they want to do. And they fill whoever the "F" they want to. The rest they classify in the system as "missed delivery". This morning I was "guaranteed" a delivery. To which I told the operator he was lying. True to form, no delivery was received. This evening, when I inquired why the delivery was not received, I was told, it was a "missed delivery" as if we somehow did something wrong! Amerigas, in it's attempts to corral its providers has failed fantastically in that they cannot actually control its providers - the providers still do whatever the hell they want. And we as customers cannot call or walk in to our local offices to get a resolution. We only now have the national call center. Only now, the actual providers of propane have no responsibility to the corporate structure. So the call center is actually powerless to help customers. Remember, all they can do is send an email - that's it! They cannot actually help you! Do what we had to do - get a spare tank that you can refill. Amerigas can no longer help you. You are utterly on your own - for real. read more

Would give this company 0 stars if I could. My tank is empty and no delivery in sight. I've called three times and been given empty promises by their Indian call center that propane is on the way. When I called the last time and asked politely if there was a way to get a notification from the driver about my status, she turned hostile and started yelling and would not answer my question. I did not realize this company had pulled its local customer service from Reno, will be 100% switching service. I gave these people a one-star review a few months ago, and apparently they took it as a challenge: The service has gotten worse, and it's even harder to pay online--I've been assessed late charges three times after paying the full amount of the bill they sent, then receiving a second bill with an unexplained extra charge, which I ignored because "I already paid that." Why don't I complain? Ha: try to get a human on the phone. The one local (Sparks, Nevada) employee I've managed to reach has done her best to help, but Corporate pays no more attention to her than it does to me. Do not, Do Not, DO NOT use this company for propane! They left our area recently, which would normally be all fine and dandy, but with 0 warning to any of its customers. Every single one of us found out by having our tanks run dry in the midst of a cold snap! It's currently 10° outside and all of their customers in Reno have no heat because even though we're all paid up and on auto-fill, they decided to leave Reno with no warning. Calls to their customer service line give you the runaround. Awful, just awful! Moved into a new house that already had an Amerigas tank. Even though I've heard nothing but terrible things about Amerigas, I made the mistake of giving them a try. To reach them there was a 4 hour wait via phone and 2 1/2 for online chat. They were suppose to come out 2 weeks ago to fill the tank for the first time and still have not arrived. I did have them inspect the tank and I was told they would be here quickly to fill since we just moved into the house. I'm on hold with their answering service to cancel service now. I gave notice 30 days in advance for a tank pick up as I live in a 5th wheel and they placed the tank right in front of the hook up, I couldn't move my RV out of the space. Apparently someone came out 3 weeks before the Date I asked and picked up my neighbors old tank and closed out my acct. When I called to ask what happened I was told my tank was picked up and I stated that no it wasn't and gave them my tank serial number and asked why the driver didn't check that instead of picking up a wrong tank and now jeopardizing me having to pay extra because they couldn't come until after my move out date. When I had called throughout the month I thought everything was fine until they told Me they picked up the tank already. I was gaslight time and again by "customer resolution specialists " . I told them that they will pay the extra days that I was going to be responsible for not getting out of my space in time and all I was told is "we have no drivers. We are sorry" I was kept on hold the longest at 45 min on and off and hung up on numerous times. SO frustrating. I would not recommend this company until they learn to take responsibility for their actions! read more

I was with Bi-State for about 8 years... Good company. They got bought by Amerigas and it all went to hell. Bad "keep full" caused my water heater to freeze and burst, They raised prices so often I found big savings elsewhere. And they jacked up my yearly tank rental fee over 200%. Terrible customer service. Amerigas outsourced all customer service. When you call for questions regarding a bill or tank fill, you speak to someone overseas, often with difficult to understand accents and terrible phone connection. Amerigas screwed up a tank fill and billing and after hours of trying to resolve, we finally fired them. I highly recommend ANY other business, even if their gas/gallon is more expensive. I find it amusing that Amerigas keeps removing the comments about their business. They were told to come out and remove my propane tank because after 20 years they were still charging me a rental fee for the tank. The worst part is, they charge more per pound to fill the tank than any other company in town. However, instead f removing the tank, the filled it...to the hefty tune of over $600!! I need to update my review. On 1/31/23, I finally had a visit from the AmeriGas propane truck (still, by the way, labeled "Bi-State", the company that AmeriGas bought out. I talked to the driver, who filled me in on what he said was happening. First, he says AmeriGas was bought out by a German company, who immediately closed all the local offices. He said that for a while, he was the only driver left out of all the original drivers and had over 20,000 accounts to try to service. Then, he said, the snowstorms closed I-80 and all the trucks in California were diverted to California markets, leaving Reno high and dry. He said they finally got propane delivered via rail car and brought in 11 drivers from other areas to try to service Reno and Washoe. He was not at all surprised that I was switching companies (he confirmed that the new owners had shut down all the local offices and switched their service center (the infamous 800 number) to somewhere in the Philippines, but was willing to provide me whatever amount of propane I wanted, so I elected to get 50 gallons to tide me over. Evidently, Amerigas (actually, its new owner) has not pulled out of Washoe and is trying to catch up, but they have, as far as i'm concerned, ruined the company and its reputation. I'm switching permanently, but continue to appreciate the local drivers and their efforts to try to help out their customers. read more

Amerigas is the worst! They have been nothing but a nightmare to work for action. Forget trying to get the Area Manager to return calls, after promises of hearing from them within 48 hours of contact. Our tank was pulled 12/4/20 and they have violated the Nevada Board of Regulation of Liquefied Petroleum of Gas. 1) they have not refunded unused gas and tank rent to us in the 15 days of tank removal . This is even after 6 calls to do, 2 being to corporate 2) They charged me a service fee to remove the tank which is another Nevada violation. It makes me wonder how many other unsuspecting Nevadans have been scammed illegally by this company? Their license to operate should be revoked in Nevada read more

I've gotten my propane there for years without a problem. Last Friday morning, 4/27/18, the filler (New Face) removed my PROPANE TANK SAFETY CAP COVER from the tank and kept it. I didn't notice until I got home and I wasn't going to drive all the way back to get it. Seems sort of stupid, but it happened.. Keep an eye on yours. Good price on tank refills. read more

Do not deserve one star. Went into office the 15th and ordered a fill. Wad told 7 to 10 days. Today is the 6th of following month. Went to office twice since and was told both times they would be out to fill us up that day. Today my husband banged and banged on the door at Glendale location again. The said they were in a neeting. He said he did not care because he needed to know they would be out. They looked up our account and said yes we will be there today. It is 7 p.m. now and we are on empty. I would never treat a customer of over 20 years like this. Will find a new company now. read more
