Beautiful setting and an example of "how the other half lives." We were out this way for our…read morenephew's wedding and they had access to and used this spectacular setting for the ceremony and dinner. Since the weather co-operated, you really could not have asked for a better event from start to finish. Redding is about 30 minutes or so north of Norwalk, the time depending on traffic and weather ... usually you can make it a bit faster. The Norwalk location is a good place to stage people if you are coming out here for a large event, because there isn't much hotel space right in Redding and Norwalk is on a train stop. Norwalk is a bit over an hour from La Guardia Airport. You have easy access to Newark also. The food was delicious and served up quickly ... can't be too definitive here since the food was pre-selected for the wedding dinner. Being a larger event, some of the food didn't arrive as hot as one might like, but all was nicely done and prepared. All in all, this made a lovely wedding site, and since the pair getting married had rented buses, everybody made it back to their hotel in Norwalk. If you are ever out this way, try and find someone who'll get you in the club ... I would love to know how the golf is.

It seems there are three places for a concert, a main stage with seats under a tent an outdoor uncovered grass space and a courtyard that is partially covered. Not a ton of food options (maybe you can bring your own picnic stuff, not sure) but drink options. Definitely caters to an older crowd but sort of a very small version of a Tanglewood or a Ravinia near Chicago.

We had just been to NYBG, and while Caramoor is smaller, it's just as scenic and serene in its own way. Hoping to come back soon for a concert at the Rosen House--it seems like the perfect place to enjoy live music.

The club house is a little dated but not in disrepair. It's the television-world idea of a Connecticut country club. It was a little narrow to have those huge round tables, but, again, it worked - clearly this is something they've done before and they know how to set things up with a good flow. The staff were all friendly and very attentive to our needs. I can't speak of the mimosas, but I had a bellini and was very impressed; it's not often you find someone making bulk-mixed drinks with a good balance. The caprese salad was done very well although I always want more tomatoes. I had the salmon with mixed greens and it was gorgeous. Not too much seasoning or salad dressing, and it was cooked to perfection. We finished off with a white cake with fruit inside (not sure if it was from here or brought in) but it was also very good. All in all, it was a lovey visit. I wouldn't stop by just for giggles since it's a good hour and a half drive for me, but it's a great view if you can make it.

She invited me for dinner to maybe become a member. We had cocktails and the prices (for members maybe?) were incredible. The club was lovely, got introduced to very nice people, The location is also great, right on the water, with a nice deck, and boats coming in and out under a killer sunset. right now I am a fan, ready to become a member, love the place. Then our dinner orders came in: Appetizers - I had the eggplant rollatini. It consisted of a very thin slice of eggplant with a LOT of breading. I could not finish it., that's how bad it was. My Friend had the Antipasto Rustico, which was supposed to be, according to the menu, "Prosciutto, Salami, cheese selection platter, server with parmesan crostini bread". She got a lettuce salad topped with supermarket ham, supermarket salami, and one single cheese, mozzarella. We both complained. The answer I got for my eggplant rollatini was that all other customers were happy with it. My friend was pushier, and got an offer to add Blue Cheese to her single "multiple slices of cheese platter". No Procciuto, no cheese selection. It's Supermarket ham and cheese on lettuce after all. Then I ordered the lobster roll, and my friend ordered the steak. My friend could not eat her steak and kept on pushing it around her plate. It was really tough. The lobster roll I ordered OMG, the meat was grey. It tasted like nothing. I complained to the waiter, he brought the chef over and was assured the lobster meat was real lobster. .. Guess becoming a member now it's off the table. I'll just come in with a friend, no need to pay membership for a place you can't have a decent meal at.

It's simple enough. You don't need to pre-plan you can just sort of show up anytime they are open. I can't give five stars just because I think it's pretty pricey. There are some blank ceramic pieces that have a really high price and even the small ceramic pieces are quite high but after you paint it, they contact you 2 to 3 days later and you go pick it up so easy process.
