Took my 3.5 year old for a trial class and from the start the vibe was already a no for me. My kid was being more timid than usual... made sense since it was a new environment with people we've never met before. I did not like that the instructor pretended like my kid wasn't even there- didn't acknowledge or get my child excited to be there or even feel noticed. To me, it's a CHILDRENS class. Children need to be acknowledged so they feel welcome and wanted. read more

I enrolled my 5 year old just a month ago. What brought us here was the school bullying beginning at such an early age. I did not bring him here with the intention of "beating people up" but more so to build his confidence so that he wouldn't grow up to be a victim. I'd have to say, we've gotten so much more than we'd expected from Amerikik. I've seen such a huge difference in my son's confidence, behavior, and concentration. The Senseis are ALL amazing and do a fantastic job at making EVERY child feel important and confident. My son is so eager to attend classes. The excitement and pride that exudes from him once we walk out is more than I could have ever asked for. So glad I made the overnight spontaneous decision to join Amerikik. I loved everything about Sensei Vlad and his dojo. I went in with a Groupon for 4 classes while I was visiting Staten Island. The girl on the phone was very professional and nice. She explained all the classes and times. I took kickboxing classes with Sensei Vlad and another instructor. The classes were challenging and I got a great workout. Both instructors have their own style, are genuinely nice and took time to explain techniques. I also had the chance to watch a kids class and the kids were doing a great job. They all seemed very focused and disciplined. Long story short, I would highly recommend the dojo for both kids classes and kickboxing. read more

I have to say that I was very impressed with many things about this school and the people who run it. It's very organized and clean which is something I look for when chosing an establishment to work out in. The teachers are really into their craft and you can tell that they thoroughly enjoy leading the classes. I happened to take the kickboxing class and it kicked my butt!! (In a good way of course). Vlad, who taught the class was attentive and actually corrected my form!! Very rarely do you have a teacher who comes up to you in a class full of people and corrects you. That gets a gold star in my book! I also loved the energy that he possessed. After class, I approached him to find out about other programs offered at this school and was very pleased when he wanted to know more about my GOALS. I loved that. This place is really great for everyone, from toddlers to adults. I really appreciate that it's family oriented! I started attending this school a bit over a year ago and it was one of the best decisions I have made. I take the Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) classes, Adult Karate classes, Cage Fitness classes, Brazilian Jiu Jitsue classes, and have now started the Kickboxing classes. Each class is a different type of training and I love every bit of it. The school has improved my stamina, strength, posture, flexibility, has given me technique and so much more. I can have a really bad day and I will know that I will leave training in a happier state of mind that evening. Even though I still have A LOT more to learn, Sensei Vlad has taught me things that I have never believed I could do. In addition, my 4 year old niece started taking the Little Tigers classes and absolutely loves it. The sensei's make the class fun and educational. My niece looks forward to it every day. I've attended the cardio kickboxing classes for almost two years and they're definitely a step up from chains like CKO. Top notch school that offers various classes around self-defense and cardio. The cardio kickboxing is definitely a harder class than some of the chains out there (i.e. CKO) and the focus is to bring 100% to class. They have classes for all levels of fitness and ages. I've seen some of the child classes being run and there's a tremendous emphasis on discipline, evaluation and constructive feedback. Sometimes a complete stranger will come in your life and surprise you, by showing that they are people who care and believe helping other still maters. Amerikick is an excellent facility, with an outstanding staff. Our son is now 5, and started Amerikick when he was 3.5 years old. As parents of an active child, we had to find a positive outlet for our son, and Amerikick has been the perfect fit. This specific branch is very catered to families. They provide family nights, summer/winter break camp, and other special events that children can partake in. We've really grown very fond of the staff, and they are VERY kind to our child. In addition to those incentives, you cannot beat this location in the summer time; it's right across from the boardwalk/beach. I would highly recommend Amerikick-Arrochar. read more
