I've been training at Krav Maga Experts for several months now, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. Wanted to try Krav Maga for a long time. After doing my due diligence on the best KM classes in NYC, I decided to give KME a try, and one year later, I can say it was an excellent decision. Both school locations (Upper West Side and Brooklyn) are amazing. All of the staff are lovely! The owner has strong quality control over the instructors he hires and puts a lot of thought into the curriculum. His passion for bringing KM to as many people as he can is evident. The classes have great energy and the instructors are very engaging and accommodating of various experience levels from beginner to advanced. I started with no martial arts experience and advanced fairly quickly through regular classes. It's also a full body workout for anyone who has fitness on the brain. I gained a lot from coming here - self-defense skills, better fitness levels, and amazing friends. This is one of the best investments I've made with my money and time, and I highly recommend it anyone who wants to try! read more

There are so many things to say about KME but I will keep it short. I had no fighting experience or self defense experience when I started and wanted to try.... I was also not confident AT ALL in a lot of areas. Well 6 months later I can tell you it is worth every single minute, bead of sweat, tired day and penny. I private train with Tsahi who is amazing much like all of the instructors as well as do group classes. My body has changed, my mindset has changed, my motivation has changed and my confidence has changed. All for the better. This is a family and they welcome you with open arms and EVERYONE including the other students make you feel welcome and they also help you along the way. I had a great class here, so I signed up for the monthly program. Unfortunately, I got started a little too soon after my elbow surgery and felt pain every day for the following 7 days after class. I reached out to management to see if I could cancel and get a refund, since according to my Physical Therapist, I would need to build up strength over at least two more months before I start class again. The contract states that cancelation is accepted within 30 days, but "all sales are final." I was hoping I could get an exception to this given my circumstances, but the owner responded and told me they would not refund my money - and then brought up how they had to be closed during the pandemic. I don't understand the inclusion of this sentence, because the pandemic was global and we all suffered. I was personally out of work for 10 months, but it seems this company needs my $100 more than me, despite my mounting medical bills. I was excited to come back in a few months, but this experience has left me with a bad taste in my mouth. read more

I absolutely DO NOT RECOMMEND Krav Maga Expert. I brought my child for the trial first time and paid for the first TRIAL lesson. I was late for 3 minutes due to the fact that it was difficult to find parking. AND THIS WAS FIRST TIME TO COME. Because of 3 minutes they were not allowed to practice. Staff take my payment in this time and not let to participate. When I tried to get my money back, they didn't return it to me. I don't understand why he take my payment if my son not participate lesson. 1. I believe that they have committed FRAUD. 2. 3 minutes is not a reason not to let them study, especially since the group has just started to study for 1 minute before I come inside. 3. Training and teaching practices are not professional enough on the part of the trainer, that I saw from first time. This is my opinion as a person who have black belt. 4. I will complain to FTC , Better Business Bureau, Federal Tax and other. (I have video proof) Krav Maga Expert - take money from customer- no give receipt and not refund money if customer not received service from this company. I've given four stars instead of five because this location is small and it lacks proper, consistent ventilation. If you don't mind sweating a lot and feeling stuffy, then this place will be a five star experience for you. Keep in mind that morning classes are less packed than evenings classes, so your experience of stuffiness will be less in the morning. Still, the trainers are knowledgeable, friendly, they willingly explain concepts, also they pay attention to neophytes and experienced alike, and each class is very well organized. I am enjoying my experiences at all of the KME locations (the union Square location is the most spacious, btw) and I recommend it to others. read more

I first bought a few classes for my son as a Groupon special and he loved it, so I ended up buying him monthly unlimited classes.The staff is super friendly, and the instructor is very knowledgeable and talented. What I love the most is that my son is 15 and practiced with adults, they were so kind and friendly, always showing him proper form when they did one on one practice, even though he was not on their skill level. Besides learning self defense, he is also gaining self confidence,opening up more, and getting a great workout, which makes me a happy mom. I definitely recommend Krav Maga. read more

I am impressed with Krav Maga Experts. I'm not new to martial arts (I studied aikido and tai chi for years, and I've done a little boxing), but I was new to krav maga. Krav maga turns out to be fundamentally sound, highly practical, and really fun to learn--and Krav Maga Experts is a great place to learn it. The Park Slope facility is excellent: really pleasant, well-maintained, with a great mat to train on and exercise equipment for a complete workout. I've been on the mat with people who have been training for a while, and others who have never studied any martial art before. Everyone I've trained with seems comfortable, the classes have a great vibe, and the approach here works well for complete beginners, people who have a lot of expertise, and anyone in between. I've never once seen anyone pressured to do something they're not comfortable with, nor observed any macho bravado that plagues some studios. It's a great place to learn. Currently most of the courses in the Park Slope location are taught by Markus Anderson. I've studied martial arts with many different instructors, and I am really impressed with him--he's one of the best instructors I've had the pleasure of training with. He has a knack for putting the class at ease, and making even some more difficult concepts (like break falls and ground techniques) a lot easier to understand and learn. He's patient with beginners, but doesn't let up on the class and still drives everyone to meet a high standard. read more

I took my first krav maga class here at 6pm and thoroughly enjoyed the new experience. Krav Maga is a form of self defense taught to the Israeli army. It is very applicable to real life if you're looking for a form of fighting that you can use should you ever be in a position where you need to defend yourself. This is the newest location so they only have one class a day at 6pm Monday through Friday and then a few Saturday and Sunday I believe at 10am. My instructor was Marcus and he was great. Very friendly from the start and greets you before class if you're a newcomer. My class was a mix of new people and advanced so I didn't feel like the only new kid. The beginning of the class you do some stretching and running around the room doing different exercises. Then you break off into partners and practice different moves. Its certainly a good workout if you give it your all and its not so difficult that its hard to catch on. I'll definitely be back and am interested to check out the other location s! read more
