It definitely needed the replacement, and they got everything reinstalled and flushed efficiently. This was on a Thursday, and Friday was the July 4th holiday. Later that night, my smart water leak sensor on top of the heater triggered a "wet" alert. I went out to the garage and noticed a small leak on the cold-side nipple. I called right away, spoke with their automated assistant, and got scheduled for Sunday morning. Not wanting to wait three days over the holiday weekend, I decided to tackle it myself. I purchased a new hose line, partially drained the tank, and inspected the existing gasket, which looked worn. After cleaning the threads and applying a little faucet grease to the washer, I hooked it back up--no more leaks! Just as I finished the DIY fix, Amanda from Mike Council Plumbing called to proactively upgrade my appointment and send a tech out first thing Saturday morning. The next day, Pablo also called, he or Brandon are fully ready to come out and take care of it. I let them know I had already managed to fix it, and both of them advised me to monitor the connection and call if anything changed. Amanda canceled the Sunday appointment made by the bot. There were 2 holes about the size of a pinky and the cavity is about the size that could fit my thumb up to its nailbed. I reached out to a few folks and got quotes. Given my prior positive experience, I reached out to Mauricio to see if this could be done. I also noticed 2 holes that I'm not sure if it was there when I first got the furniture or if something else bore out. These were about the size of a dull pencil tip but on the underside of the furniture. Mauricio was extremely patient with me upon getting the details as I was considering getting a second opinion from some local exterminators on the risk of another emergence. Eventually, I figured out some details and booked an appointment. Everything was quickly scheduled with Edgar who arrived on time promptly and quickly went to work fixing the 4 holes. By the time it was finished, I could only vaguely guess where the holes were. To someone who didn't know about the holes, it would look almost natural. All in all, this took roughly an hour or so to complete. Edgar was sure to clean up after himself and laid out some paper padding to capture any mess left behind and prevent it from touching the floor. They installed a new SPAN panel since the old circuit breaker was dangerously old and I got their HVAC team to install a modern gas furnace. I told them about the stain I spotted in my garage and Candace helped me set up an appointment with one of their plumbers, Edgar. That man is the best. He kept me in the loop and gave me realistic expectations. He immediately found and fixed the leak and I asked him to install three bidets into my bathrooms and he did it like a solid professional. No corners were cut. They are quite pricey imo, but the jobs are always done incredibly well. Even the patching guy did such a good job I couldn't even tell where the holes were when they were done so all in all it's money worth spent.
