I am very happy with this business. I went to them for a storage unit, and they had a 10x20 unit available. I rented the unit for 6 months! The staff was very respectful, and helped me along the way. Purchased a car here from Scott Penney with the promise that I would have access to discounted labor for the life of my car. A year later my car was vibrating violently and displaying its engine light. I didn't realize Acord would make up for the lesser hourly rates by increasing the quantity of hours needed for each repair. 6 hours to "resurface my rotors, change a control arm and flush my transmission." After the $500 repair didn't fix my original issue, I brought my car back to diagnose why. I was charged over $300 for additional repairs which I did not approve. Said repairs included NEW rotors as they failed to diagnose a stuck caliper which ruined the recently restored rotors. When asking why they charged me without my permission for repairs which were a result of their lack of observation, I was told by Zach it was coincidence my car was still shaking and that I could only have my car back if I paid for the additional work. Zach refused to allow me to speak with anyone higher up than him despite admitting that the younger mechanic Jake did the original repairs and was less experienced. He assured me Bruce, the senior mechanic, had corrected the problems, which he did. Very poor experience - WOULD NOT RECOMMEND as the company does not stand behind their work after you purchase your car. read more

This place will rip you off ESPECIALLY if you are a woman. I bought a car from them under the guise that it was in "perfect condition" I was assured that the car was worth exactly what they were asking... after owning the car for less than a month i had to bring it back to them a total of 4 TIMES. They made good on their 30 day warranty I'm just lucky I had the all problems with it so soon after I bought it. If you go here bring your boyfriend/ husband/ male friend and have them negotiate the price otherwise they will rip you off. read more

I had a great car buying experience with Zach, unfortunately the car he sold us wasn't as good as it appeared. We bought a a 2002 Honda civic dx 2 years ago, probably in October and it drove great . By the end of the winter all 4 fenders were rusting out. I had to replace the front fenders and did some body work on rear fenders. To pass inspection it needed about $500,,work and it needed the rear bumper re-enforced. It eventually costs about $1500 dollars to fix all of this, on a $4500 car. They probably bought it at an auction , and there was no apparent rust, but I think it was probably sitting flood water and they didn't know about it. read more

Amazing car buying experience! Zac was awesome! I was able to test drive the car I wanted multiple times, walk away and think about it and even bring it to a dealership of my choosing to make sure everything checked out. Absolutely no pressure to buy right way from Acord whatsoever. Having had a horrible experience in the past, I went into buying this car with a jaded view of car salesmen and their motives, but was pleasantly surprised with my overall car buying experience at Acord. As a woman going to buy a car, I totally felt like I was in the drivers seat during this buying experience (no pun intended!) I bought my car in October of this past year and am only sorry it took so long for me to write this review! I'm not impressed. Went and tried out a particular vehicle. I found an issue with said vehicle, but told them I was very interested in it. They said they'd fix the issue and call me when it was fixed. I went and got approval for financing, so I was all ready to purchase when fixed. I called the next day and was told that they weren't sure if it was fixed yet, that he would call me back in about 1/2 hr. Still no call.... No call the next day either...... Best car buying and dealership experience we've ever had! Zach was just great - casual and cool yet professional at the same time. He let us test drive at least half a dozen cars, gave us lots of good info about everything we wanted to know, and didn't treat us like female customers (unaccompanied by men) are sometimes treated by car salesmen (are there car saleswomen? We've never met any). It was great to buy from a family run local business rather than a huge dealership: no corporate atmosphere or complex paperwork procedures, just an honest place that knows how to keep customers for the long run. They have an inspection and mechanic shop on site and their cars are in great shape mechanically before they're sold. Will recommend! read more

I purchased a 2005 ford ranger 3 years ago. It was 8 months after the purchase that I discovered the frame was cracked in 3 places. If that wasn't bad enough I learned that the mechanic "Willy" had illegally stickered, under direct supervision of then manager "Sebastian". After being in touch with the state police and attorney generals office Sebastian called and said we'll take care of it. No problem. Their "fix" was plate metal welded over the cracks and a spray painted frame to hide the shotty work. A year later the truck would not pass inspection due to the frame. I stopped by, spoke with the owner directly and explained the situation. He called me back the next day and said he would cover the cost of repair up to 1500$ or give me 2500$ trade towards another vehicle. Like I would risk that again. He ordered me a used frame from down south, no rust, and had a 3rd party weld the new frame on. I ended up paying the 600 that I "owed". After receiving the receipt of the repair from the 3rd party, turns out I knew the guy. He said with the whole repair it was only 600, not this alleged 1500$ Chris Acord told me it would cost. Yes, he even falsified a sales receipt, instead of owning up and giving me my money back like a reputable business would. This truck is now parked in the woods rotting while I continue to make payments on the bank loan. This truck will be paid off on my birthday April 2017. Happy birthday to me. Moral of the story, do not under any circumstances buy a vehicle from Chris Acord at Acord Auto and Self Storage in Richmond ME. read more
