First time here with the family and grandkids, and we had an amazing time. I haven't been bowling in years, but this place brought it all back. Marissa really made our Sunday morning experience she went above and beyond and was so great with everyone. The bowling alley should be proud to have someone like her representing the place. She even delivered our food, and it was top notch honestly some of the best. This place reminded me of going bowling as a kid... lots of great memories. We'll definitely be back! read more

This place is tough to rate. If I based it purely off the staff, it would be 5 stars. I've never visited this location and had a bad interaction with anyone and they're super helpful anytime I've had an issue with a lane. Which is, unfortunately, very often. It doesn't seem like the lanes are ever maintained unless it's for league. Incredibly dry every time and even at noon on a Monday, the cosmic lights are on. So it's very dark other than the glare from the tvs on the back wall. Not to mention, the lanes are VERY rough on the balls. I come here because it's close and that's convenient but this isn't a place you want to use a ball you care about. My last two brand new balls have been shredded during the first game. I mean multiple, deep gashes and scabs everywhere. Other alleys that have pro shops have offered to buff what they can out for free when the ball is brand new, but not at this location. But, the pro shop could be its own entity, I don't really know. All in all, I'll keep coming here. But they really, really need to consider oiling *every lane, everyday* and hire someone who can figure out how to actually fix and maintain the lanes, not just hit a reset button. I've tried playing during their "unlimited" specials and more often than not, most of that time is spent trying to get the pins to reset and the computer to keep the right score. And maybe offer some kind of compensation when that happens. read more

I've been to a few bowling alleys and it usually feels like a time warp because they're last renovation was 30 years ago. Not this place. It's pretty modern and well kept. The menu is simple for foods. Typical alley fare. Same with the bar. The staff seem to enjoy their job and it definitely helps for a fun bowling atmosphere. 10/10 would return read more

Grateful to have a bowling alley close to home, but it's disappointing that the lanes seem to be maintained primarily for league play. Outside of league times, the lanes are often very dry, which makes it difficult for both new and experienced bowlers to practice properly. And good luck trying to practice when they turn out the lights for glow bowling. Casual bowlers may not notice the difference, but anyone trying to improve their game definitely will. Because of this, I've started making the trip to smaller, independently owned alleys that keep their lanes consistently oiled and maintained. read more

Always fun games available to play in the arcade. Love shooting hoops and racing cars! They even have a pool table and air hockey near the bar which serves very good drinks and apps. Friendly staff. You could enjoy yourself even without bowling here! Def a great hang. read more

This is the second time I've been to this bowling alley, and both times the game system messed up. For example, it wouldn't count the correct score or it wouldn't reset the correct number of pins for the next person. The staff was very nice and fixed the issue every time I brought it up, which I appreciated. However, not being able to play one full game without problems is pretty frustrating. I was still charged full price for the first game even though I had to stop multiple times to get issues fixed. I ended up leaving in the middle of my second game because there were too many problems. read more

They did it again! We had our (what has now become) annual Christmas party, and this place never disappoints. Everything was smooth, and when it wasn't, the manager Marisa, took care of things quickly and professionally! The place was clean, all of the staff (including the security guy, in freezing weather out front), was very nice. Special props to our server, Mariah, who was totally on top of making sure that our every need was met. The food came out hot, the drinks were labeled, so we could identify Pepsi from root beer and sprite from water. She even did a check on when we'd like dessert served. I mean she was so attentive ... she pulled at least 1 additional Michelin star for her service. The food was surprisingly tasty for a bowling alley, and everything was served with such care. Even the presentation surrounding the food, was nice. We loved the lighted alphabets identifying our party! So now, after 2 years, it's a thing ... I give this spot high elevation and with the 45 minute trip thst it took to get there in the rain, was worth it! Thank you, Fam! read more

The family and I went there and paid for 3 games. A couple minutes in and both lanes started resetting pins, giving inaccurate scores, and shutting down all together. The manager tried fixing it as other workers were fixing other lanes for other bowlers. They gave us free food as a nice gesture, but the bowling lanes even after switching still had problems. We left after crawling to the end of our first game. They gave us half our money back. Manager did the right thing which is why I gave 2 stars. read more

Location: it's in a great location near wholes food inside a wonderful plaza and right off the freeway! Staff: I love the staff. Marissa and Sam are extremely helpful every time I come in as well all the other staff. Food and space: food is good and reasonably priced. Beers and full bar with a cool arcade for the kids and air hockey as well as a pool table. Obviously bowling leagues are everywhere so sometimes coming before or after league is the best way to go about it when coming here. All in all AMF bowling is a great place to be for the family, friends, birthdays, corporation and private events. read more

Idk if the management was changed or what happened but it is awful now! We went this past Saturday and it has gone downhill. We got settled in and ordered food and sodas. After 35+ minutes my sister in law went to check and the food was sitting there and the young girl just rudely pushes it towards her like here take it. We never received our drinks so I went back and the young rude same girl gets them, the whole time with this awful stank face and I said the sodas should've been brought a long time ago and she says "well we have a bunch of other parties going on today" ummm ok so since there's parties then I guess us regular people are not important. Just all around unprofessional and then our lane kept messing up and nobody answering our technician calls. Then we paid for 2 hours and they cut us off and I checked the receipt and they shorted us 25 minutes so we went to show them the receipt and they said "oh my bad" then added the time. I also asked to speak to the manager and waited and he never came so I said please just send him to our lane to talk and he never came by. Not once ever. How sad. Do better and get your place in order. You guys charge way too much to be giving sub par service. read more

Lately, though, they've truly taken things to the next level. The staff is incredibly friendly and generous, and the atmosphere feels even more welcoming than before. Disclosure this was in my drafts and I don't know why it never posted. This experience was from a while ago but still needed to be posted. We will be going back and will update the review depending on the experience! The general manager is clearly not customer service oriented. We came in and the cashier was amazing. She was welcoming and assisted us in getting our lanes. There were no open lanes available but she kindly let us know that the only open lanes available were booked for a private party later, so our time was limited. We were more than ok with it! Before we even started bowling, she came and asked us to move since other lanes became available. Perfect! Our experience thus far was great. Now comes the downfall. The food ordering service was efficient yet the bar situation... not. We went to the bar to order drinks. No one was there. We went back to the front counter, we were told we can order our drinks there. Also not a problem. We are a very go with the flow crowd. We ordered 3 Hennessy 2 tequilas. When we went to the bar we were poured 3 hennessys 2 whiskeys. (We looked at our receipt after and noticed that the cashier did ring us up for 2 Jim bean and 3 hennessys) Granted, ok your cashier heard the wrong order, why would you, the general manager, not rectify it. We stated we were open to pay the additional charge. We were met with discontent, attitude, and for a lack of better word shitty service.. She made us feel like a burden. Definition of a local hangout. I've been here before. I definitely don't need to review it, but why not, not? It was my first official time hanging out here on purpose to bowl. Not for a birthday party, not to pickup someone who was done bowling, but a legit bowling night, complete with a couple of friends, our kids (one each), drinks and food to boot. It was easy enough, while we waited for our lane, we let the kids hang out in the arcade as we ordered drinks from the bar. It seemed like a popular night for the suburbs; everyone knew each other in nods and hellos. I'm not from here so it's good to feel unattached to "be on." The lane was ready, we moved our drinks and belongings to the area and let the games begin. Though I claimed I wasn't a bowler, I ended up being the top score. Yay! The food was good; the wings FIRE, I ordered more of it and the kids just threw down. Definitely a great night for all! They had lanes available! Called other bowling alleys and they all had waiting lists of 3-6 hours. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, pretty clean, and good rental shoes. My only concern/complaint was the lack of etiquette by the bowlers in either lane next to us. Just strolled right up and bowled while we were lining up our next throw with ball in hand. Some basic instruction regarding bowling rules would be nice but I don't know if it is doable. One other thing I noticed was the lack of ball racks from which to choose your ball. It seemed a bit odd that there weren't any even though there was an assortment of balls in the ball return. Overall a good time for all of us. Would go again . read more

We sure love this bowling alley! We've gotten the summer special, and now the fall special too, which gives unlimited bowling for a specified season. This makes it super easy and fun to come after school or on a weekend and save some money. My kid loves the arcade, too! read more

My friend decided to have a party here on New Year's Eve for her son. She booked it at 1:00 pm that same day. We arrived the decor, lanes and tables were already set up complete with new years hats and photo backdrop. The staff was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was good we had pizza, Caesar salad, chicken tenders, fries, cookies and sodas. When the party ended at 7:00 they gave us champagne to toast and apple cider for the kids. I was very impressed with the level of service we received. I would definitely have a party here or come back and hang out. read more

Enjoyed an early Mon. game for $5.59 a game & $5 shoe rental. There were about 4 other people enjoying themselves, so it wasn't crowded. It looks like AMF really updated & improved the interior seats & machines. The fact that the bowling conveyor belt or bowling pin machine never once got jammed was nice. Since it was a while since our family got to enjoy a game of bowling our 1st game we asked for bumper guards. They gladly put them up, unlike some places they put an age restriction for the bumper guards (crazy, but there must be some logic for that). With the guards we scored so much higher, so we decided our 2nd game to remove them & we scored a lot lower. It was nice to just drop in & enjoy some family fun @ AMF, so if you ever stop by Pinole, this is a great place to visit. read more

The lane we got got, lane 2, kept having problems and we had to stop multiple times during our game to get help. It was difficult trying to get them to come to our lane and fix the issue. We had to stop our game about 5 times because our "pin machine" would get stuck. It was New Year's Eve, so I understand they are busy, however, we only paid for one game, and it took us a long time to even finish it. We went up to the counter where the employees said they would get it fixed, but we waited about 20 minutes. We even had to call them on the phone to get their attention. On top of that, some dude from another lane came over to our lane and stole two balls we were still using. We were like "wtf dude we still using that" and he "didn't hear" us. Dude walked away and went back to his lane while we were still yelling at him. My bf had to walk over to their group and yell at them and be like wtf they doing?! We complained to the manager and he was nice enough to give us another free game, move us to another lane, and give us free game passes for next time. Unfortunately, I did not get his name. I booked my son's birthday party at AMF Pinole Valley Lanes last Saturday, only for them to cancel it on the same day with no warning, no empathy, and no effort to make things right. No alternatives, no compensation--just a last-minute cancellation that completely ruined what was supposed to be a special day for my son. The lack of professionalism and customer service was unbelievable. If you're planning a party or event, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else--this place clearly doesn't care about its customers. read more
