We rented a few games from Video Amusement for an offsite Corporate Event. The drivers arrived on time and had the games set up in no time. They were efficient. The games were durable and held up for the event. Even though we were stalled on booking our games (due to the Venue needed to help with the layout), Luiza was still openly optimistic about helping us and in the end we got all the games we wanted. We opted for Ring Toss, Giant Checkers and Clowning Around (Bean Bag Target type of game - see photo). Except for the Giant Checkers, the prices are fairly reasonable. Please note that someone else may think that the price was reasonable...it's all subjective. Here's What I Think.... They have a ton of games from which to choose. I sent in a proposal asking for specific games and pricing, as well as corporate graphics and wraps, and included the location of the event. Despite the website and all socials stating they service the West Coast and listing Seattle, WA and Portland, OR both as one of their cities, they emailed back stating that Washington was out of their service range. I emailed a screenshot of their website and asked if that was another company or perhaps only certain games, and was told the following: "For your information, our office and warehouses are located in San Francisco, CA. While we do serve the Washington, Oregon, and Nevada areas, please note that due to the extended travel distance, our minimum one-day rental for events in Washington is $18,500 plus delivery." I reached out to Video Amusement on March 7, 2022. I spoke to Luiza and explained that I needed arcade games for a middle school dance by March 10-yes THREE days away. Luiza came through. She put together a budget friendly quote, kept in contact, and had us up and running. On the 10th Jose and his crew showed up before the event, set up, and had everything going in under 45 minutes. They were prompt with the pick up, too. The students at the dance were very pleased with the basketball shooting, the air hockey, and the arcade games. Called to ask for a price quote and supposedly they charge a $3,500 fee if you're outside San Francisco. The location of inquiry is less than two hours out and they did an event last year for $1,000 in Salinas. Supposedly it's a company policy but will definitely be contacting the business bureau and I wouldn't choose this business. Talked to Luiza and she could barely speak English. Gas for two hours I get it you charge an extra $500-$1,000 for time and travel. But $3,500 minimum is ridiculous. Only choose them if you're close to SF. UPDATE: in regards to the business owners comment since it doesn't let me write a reply. Before you make assumptions I did try to work it out and the lady refused to let me speak to anyone other than her. So that's a complete lie. And about my minimal budget we have a $10,000-$15,000 budget but I don't feel the need to spend more than a third of it on games you dimwit. And lastly it's cute how you're stalking profiles but if you actually go through my reviews they are a mix of bad and great reviews. The staff was fantastic - they helped us organize everything and provided amazing customer service! We chose a chess board game, which was amazing and a lot of fun! I love it when cost breakdowns are that simple! The whole process was very smooth. Video Amusement asked apt questions on the rental form that allowed them to know exact how and where to set up the rental, so I had no concerns that they would be able to set up exactly how I envisioned it in our venue space. My now husband and I wanted to rent some lawn games for our wedding at the Brazilian Room and came across this company. Judging from their website and the positive reviews on yelp, we decided to sign the contract. Communication seemed fine. My husband spoke with them on the phone and they emailed us everything. Luiza told us we could fax or email the contract and the credit card authorization form. From her message, it seemed like the rental was confirmed and all we needed to do was return the paperwork. We probably should've confirmed that they received it but we had so many other details to finalize and it slipped our minds. Huge mistake. The day of the wedding comes and our coordinator informs us that the games never showed up. After numerous attempts of trying to reach them, they tell us they never received the contract.They appoligized and said they could arrive in an hour to setup but by that time, our guests had already arrived and we were about to start dinner. I was very unhappy about this since all the kids at my wedding were expecting to play the games and I had to tell them they weren't coming. While the rest of the wedding day was perfect, I'll always remember not having the games and will always regret this. If you do decide to go with this company, make sure to be in constant communication with them and get confirmation. I wanted a photobooth for our wedding so I called around to get pricing. I was looking for about a 6 hour usage (not including setup/takedown) and everywhere I called was going to be over 1k, except the ones where the booth was covered with some bedsheets and I really did not want that for my wedding. Anyways...Luiza was really easy to work with. We even got a $100 discount because we saw them at a wedding fair, woohoo! I believe the total was around $800. We emailed them the logo and within a day, Carlos emailed us with the layout and it was just perfect! Talk about efficiency! =D On the day of, Abel came and set up promptly. He was really awesome and helped the guests decorate our scrapbook. I believe he stayed a few minutes over cuz some of the kids would not get out of the booth, which was really nice of him. We were so busy that I'm not sure if he ate anything. Um....oops. He took down the booth and left quietly. I'm sorry we didn't actually get a chance to tip him....we didn't know when he left. =P Video Amusement provided the stickers, glue, scissors....all I needed to provide was the scrapbook. In one word, AMAZING!!! I decided to host a last minute corporate game event for 150 people in our office and they were able to swing it. Luiza & Carlos were prompt and extremely helpful. We ordered an 8 person foosball table, a REAL pool table, a ping pong table, and an air hockey table for 4 hours, it was epic. They showed up early, put all of the equipment together quickly, wiped them down so they look like new and were gone. After the event, the arrived on time and took them apart quicker than they put them together, which is always a plus since after an event you are usually exhausted. We rented a vintage photo booth for our recent wedding, and it was worth every penny! The booth was accompanied by 2 attendants who were there the whole wedding making sure the booth operated properly and that the paper was always full. I was able to send a custom logo to add to the photo strips, and my guest were obsessed! After the wedding, they promptly sent us a digital download of all the images and it was so fun seeing them all after the wedding. Working with Video Amusements was also super easy. I was so excited about finding their booths that I rented one many many months in advance. They were always prompt via email as well as super on top of everything leading up to the wedding. I just called to get a quote for 4 beer pong tables. I was told each table would cost $250 plus the delivery fee to San Jose is $850 - WTH?! I asked how much it would be to deliver in SF (which is where they are located, I might add) and the cost is $450. Not sure how many of you have played beer pong, but the tables are very basic and you can purchase them almost anywhere for much less than $200 (even customized). I was told that their tables are better than most (what does that even mean?!). You might be wondering why I don't purchase one, this is for a fundraiser and the business that donated (key word "donated") their tables to us for the night last year no longer have them. Maybe this company is better for other arcade games, pool tables, etc, but I would not recommend renting beer pong tables from them. It's quite the rip-off :( read more

Doing all my research from Hawaii, I basically went with Video Amusement because their prices were the most competitive. I've never rented a photo booth to begin with so I didn't know what to expect. I rented the open air photo booth, with props and scrap book for my son's first birthday party. IT WAS A HIT!!! With kids and adults alike! The open air booth was not this propped up peice of backdrop cloth and a seat, it was a very solid, 3 -sided, professional and clean looking screen/back drop and metal bench. Extremely sturdy and could accomodate a bunch of people. The open air booth also allows for color or B&W photos. And it was so easy to operate. 2 buttons, easy on screen instructions for even the most non-technical guest (think old Filipino Uncles and Aunties) to operate. However, the onsite attendant helped moved things along very well. She was super patient and friendly too. Not only was she there to assist with the machine, she put the scrapbook together right then and there so when the party was over, you had this wonderful album of signed pictures from all your guests! What an treat! Especially when you're hosting a busy party, you won't necessarily get to take a bunch of pictures. Definitely worth the extra $50. I can't say enough great things about this company and the quality of their product and service. Not to repeat all the accoldated others have said, but Luiza and Roman were super friendly, professional, accomodating and helpful. I highly recommend this company and would definitely use them again. My recap: Pros: -Competitve prices! The most affordable of the 4 companies I called -SUPER professional, quick follow up & accomodating -On time with set up and break down of equipment -The on-site attendant was patient -The scrap book given to you at the end of the event -Quality photos and equipment. Our company hosted a 1978 themed annual party since this year is our 40th anniversary and we had Video Amusement provide some 1978 arcade games for the event. The games were in great condition and a HUGE hit at the party. They were played with and enjoyed the duration of our party. Video Amusement staff was great to work with as well. We received a quote in a timely matter, with a straightforward contract and payment terms. They delivered and picked up the equipment on time and their delivery staff was also courteous and good sports about moving one of the games from one room to another when we decided last minute that we did, in fact, want it somewhere other than where we'd originally told them. This is my first Yelp review, too! I had to sign in because we used the Open Air Photo Booth for our wedding and it was THE BEST PART OF THE EVENT! First, working with Luiza and Roman was fast and easy. The pricing was seriously competitive. Then I worked with Carlos for an AWESOME logo. Not just a logo for the printed photos, but he made the whole background that matched my husband and my personalities. I felt high maintenance asking to change the font, but he made it seem like I was asking about the weather -- he gave me a bunch from which to choose! Finally, the booth was perfectly set up by the time I arrived at the wedding site and after the ceremony, I had an opportunity to introduce myself to Jose. He was kind and patient and competent! We had kids at the wedding and he let them be goofy, but diplomatically got them to move out when others were waiting (we have a gazillion fabulous photos of the kids!). I'm sure the wedding would have been lovely without the photo booth from Video Amusement, but they really brought the event to a different level entirely. What a great company to work with! We hired Video Amusement for a work convention where we wanted video games made in America for the theme of our booth. First of all, Luiza is amazing to work with and is always extremely friendly and ready to help in any way possible. She is also extremely quick to respond and flexible. We recently rented the "Carnival" photobooth for our wedding and it was a great hit and a fun way to build a wedding sign-in book with more fun and memories built in. Given that they also rent arcade games, I tried to convince my wife to rent Big Buck Hunter as well (it's a popular stand up arcade game found in some bars) since our wedding had a Western theme ... but she wasn't going for that ;-) Luiza and the team at Video Amusement were great to work with and helped things go smoothly on a day where so many things were happening. I had also compared their prices with various photobooth companies in the Bay Area and the prices were the best for a legitimate old-time photo booth (don't be fooled by other discount places or mass coupon deals that set up their own makeshift setup and pass it off as a "photo booth"). We had one issue with a malfunction with the booth printing near the end of the night - and the way Video Amusement handled it is the reason I'm rating them with 5 stars. They actually reprinted not only the few pictures that were known to have not printed, but every single photo strip taken that night (which was a LOT). They also provided a CD with all digital pictures (which includes not only the digital versions of the strips, but digital versions of each individual shot ... which is awesome when you just want selected pictures for later use). Definitely recommend Video Amusement for any photobooth needs ... and if you can get your fiance to consider adding your favorite arcade game, even better ;-) read more

If I could give these folks 6 stars, I would. They were awesome! We wanted to have video games at our wedding. I searched around and found Video Amusement. As I browsed their selection of games online, I noticed they had Xybots, a game I had in my dorm in college! I instantly knew we had to hire them. When we went to visit them, Roman was extremely kind. He drove us to their various warehouses and showed us a bunch of games. It was like being 12 all over again! You could tell how excited he himself was about his game selection. He let us try any games we wanted. It was hard to pry us away. Usually, they drop off games and then pick them up later, but our wedding venue asked for someone to be present. Video Amusement kindly provided an attendant for a reasonable fee. Not only did he come early (which was great, and put my mind at ease), but they gave us an extra game at no charge! The games were a hit. (Xybots, Donkey Kong, and two collections of 80s games...and for the record, Xybots was the clear favorite among the guests). :-) Roman, Luiza, and the team at Video Amusement really helped make our wedding a fun event. We have worked with Video Amusement for three parties at our home in San Jose for the past three years. We like to provide the kids at the parties with a little arcade. For each event, Luiza and the team at Video Amusement have worked with us to select a variety of new and classic arcade games to fit within our budget. One year, one of the classic (older) games did not work upon delivery, and so the crew took it and replaced it with another all before the party. For another party, we had selected a racing game that looked good to us. Then we received a call from one of the team indicating that we could still have the game we selected, but there was a better racing game that we could have for the same price. Last year, it was a particularly hard year for us, and we weren't sure how much we could afford, but we still wanted a nice experience for our young guests. Video Amusement not only gave us discounted rates as return customers, but also threw in some additional classic games free of charge. They are always on time for delivery and pick up, and their crew has been consistently customer focused -- ensuring that we understand the games, and addressing any issues promptly and professionally.
