I was invited for a round of golf by my cousin and her husband who are members. I had never heard…read moreof the Richmond Country Club, but it is a members only course. It's been about 8 years since I played regularly, so I am trying to get myself out there and take advantage of the summer, exercise and friendly competition. I arrived early for our late morning tee off, so I found myself at the bar celebrating a pre-birthday mimosa while getting my game face ready. The place was somewhat empty that morning, but the golf course was a steady flow of players. Without a drivable cart, we were lagging behind others who had one and were better - so we tried to hurry up and let others play through to catch up. Overall everyone was nice and the timing worked out. After 9 holes, there's a snack shack with sandwiches, hot dogs, ice cold beer and beverages. It's like the reward you've been waiting for. I had a nice cold Lagunitas IPA and hung out with my family enjoying the scenery. I had a blast at Richmond Country Club and look forward to going back again after a few more rounds of practice.

Update: a few people have written me asking about my review over the years and why i would…read morerecommend not joining the club. While i do think the course is great, (except for holes 2-4, which are kinda shoehorned in) Mike Iker and the board that support him at Richmond are completely incompetent. There was an incident where a very rich, very well connected group hit into ours over and over again. There was a confrontation, and because a guest of a member in my group used a curse word toward the group that had hit into us and cursed at us multiple times, we were asked to write a formal apology to the group that went out of their way to try to injure us and also be jerks. When i met with the board, other members were on my side and explained to "mr" Iker that he was clearly wrong and that if anyone should apologize, it was the other group. He was unrelenting and in the end, six of the younger members ended up leaving the club because we were harassed by the group in question, and by Mike himself. I received apologies from the GM and the head of sales, who were both very nice, for Mike's behavior, and multiple people have apologized to me since. I could see rejoining the club if i got an apology from mike and the club, and a clear outline of how they hope to change, but i generally dont hold my breath on stubborn cowards doing the right thing. edit: Mike emailed me after I wrote this review to awkwardly, cowardly, and sarcastically thank me for my feedback. I don't think there is anything on earth that sums him and the club up as well as that. You're welcome for saving you all from these sad husks of excuses for men.

Luckily, I slammed the door and locked it as fast as I could. My son and I were scared for our lives!!!! There were no cameras to record for safety so clearly management doesn't give two shits. There was tissue on the door hole. We paid over $100 to not even stay the night here like we planned. Had we not got out when we did, things could have ended horribly wrong. When we left and came back a couple of minutes later that black Jeep was gone so that was a clear sign they were planning something because the black jeep just barely parked in the parking lot. So scary!! Also, there was a huge moth on the bed which was disgusting and the bathroom door was broken, we will not come to stay at this hotel again!!! If you're trying to book a hotel in Richmond, I'd go elsewhere if I were you. I wish I can rate this hotel zero stars!!! I just wish we can get our money back!!!!!!

This is a beautiful venue! I stopped by here with a friend to try their brunch and check out the…read moregrounds. Brunch opens at 10am. They take reservations online but walk-ins too. The server told us they operate out of a food truck. So the menu is limited. But what they make is really good! We ordered the lemonade, chicken and waffles, huevos rancheros divorciados, and the strawberry champagne sherbet. Service was very prompt! The actual menu in-person had a couple items that aren't on the sample menu including a couple more dessert options like fig ice cream. We really liked everything we tried! The portions were pretty good. If coming here for food I'd recommend getting here early since food trucks have limited capacity. You're welcome to stroll around the property both the flower farm and the inn side before or after your meal. The parking situation is a gravel lot. So it may not be the most handicap accessible place. We had a lot of fun stopping by Park Winters. They were setting up for a wedding so the inn side would have been closed for the event starting at 1pm. The check also came with a small map of the property for you to keep. This was very helpful in exploring the property. The only caveat is this is the countryside. Wear long pants or be prepared with insect repellent! Even at 10am in the summer my legs were bitten by mosquitoes. (Type O blood. Mosquito magnet here.) I'd like if they burned some citronella candles to help with mosquitoes. The rest of the dining venue was so thoughtfully designed including timed misters (like at theme parks) to help keep the area cool. Definitely check it out if you're curious or in the area.

But don't worry, we took care of her tip. Have a good day." Umm, excuse me? I was a server for over 7 years. First of all, I wouldn't expect a tip after the establishment that failed me by not ensuring they had adequate kitchen supplies to keep a Mother's Day up and running. Additionally, I would have added more staff to the day, which would of course be very busy. And lastly, how are we tipped when you comped the bill and walked away, and nobody had cash? I thought that I knew a few tricks and have seen a lot of magicians, so naively believed I am may pick up a thing or two. Boy was I wrong! He was so smooth and completely amazed our crowd. Everybody kept talking about his performance long into the night and the following days. Not only were the tricks great, the performance aspect was superb. Just as billed, it was smart and sophisticated and I would totally recommend him to anyone looking for a unique performance at a party or get together.
