I have seen Dr Muney for over 20 years. He is kind, takes his time, and he is old school... he doesn't prescribe antibiotics unless you absolutely need them. He does it all, and all have actually happened for me... stitches in a knee after falling on the sidewalk, mole removal, ear wax removal, full physicals, pap smear, etc... and his assistant, nurse Keyonie, is incredible. He called me when he saw something on my blood work after physical and talked me through what I needed to do when he saw I was at risk. When I've been very ill, such as a bad bout of Covid, both he and Keyonie were available by phone for support. He is an amazing primary Care Physician. I can't say enough. read more

I came here to get my Dysport injections with Dr. Muney. The office was clean, and the staff was friendly and Personable. Iris at the Front Desk was so sweet. I had left a VM with some concerns and she called me back quickly. And Dr. Muny was wonderful! His bedside manner was superb and was very easy to talk to and get any/all questions answered. AMG Medical Group is now offering Hair Loss treatments, Botox, Juviderm--all the injectables as well as mini facelifts along with the regular GP services for which I have been patient for over 11 years. While there recently for my annual medical exam I noted that AMG was now offering cosmetic procedures and decided I should try their services. I had a Botox treatment there about 10 days ago and I am very, very pleased with the results. Dr. Muney is a board certified surgeon and he personally performs all the treatments. He showed me the results of some of his recent treatments --hair loss, mini face lifts, etc. and the results are truly amazing. I was looking for a affordable way to get medical care because my employer did not offer insurance . I first saw an article about AMG in one newspaper and I was very impressed. Ii then went on line and their website was so user friendly! I was able to make a decision right away about the plan that was right for me. I have used 2 locations , one in Brooklyn and one in Manhattan and the doctors are great! They treated my ailments, gave diagnostic tests ,and a flu shot and were very through! I wanted to write a rivew about them for a long time..but thought okay let's give them another chance!!...anyways I have been seen most of the doctors over here and Dr Tung looked n sounded better than all the others..so I usually went to see him for my annual blood work from 2011.. First of all they don't have parking so I sometimes parked in the nearby parking lot ..but once I was five minutes late n the old indian lady in the reception was furious n looking down upon me as if I should be in jail n punished gor my horrendous crime..n the astonishing part ws this place wasn't busy there was no one except me(it was Saturday morning)..n she was so upset for my crime that whenever she talked to me her face became hard,cold ...so when I was waiting for the doctor my phone rang..n she was yelling at me..!!!!#!$@..Mrs...tske ur phone outside or turn it off...before I got into my purse n turned my cell phone off she yelled n shouted four times..!##!!.. I was so pissed..but I went with the flow..most of the receptionist here are from hell...they will ask u same questions many times n check ur id n blah blah..im pretty sure gurads from Guatemala are better than these ladies..they think they are working directly for MR.President!!...they forgot they are working for patients n to greet them,to schedule their appointments and to make them feel comfortable... These people are so poor on their job..I cnt even imagine..I always told them to send my records n lab reports via email..but never ever got a single e-mail from them...from 2011.. so I tried to call them personally today..walaa!!! I had a nice experience again :/#!!$... I gave the lady my info..again some desi Indian..and asked for my records she said I can't give u more than the last one ( lab report ,which I did last month)I asked okay how about my medication? She said in a step mom demeanour voice from Cinderella hun! U have to keep ur records with yourself..it's not our job to do so.. she then elaborated omg!!u are asking for ur reports from 2011!! How many years do u even know?? I said her nothing cause I was disgusted..people can be so mean..!! About the Dr. Tung he is not a very intelligent guy..I told him about my problems he never listened to..n my health issues became complicated n mow after 3 years I found out my hunch was right..n he never gave me tests I wanted to do..n he doesn't have deep knowledge n expertise in many areas..n once I went to him for my neck pain he said muscle spasm..n after third visit I asked jim for a MRI test..he dint gave me..he explained to me it's nothing n he also gets this type of pain..I was in my bed for almost three weeks,I wasn't even able to swallow any food..n then I went to see a neurologist n he gave me an MRI rightawy n diagnosed me properly..so I took the reports to show Dr Tung to tell him see u are wrong..but I was amazed to see..that he didn't say sorry or anything..contrary he started explaining about my condition(which he could have done on the first place).. The only people who behaved like a human are the people who drew blood n all the others they pretend they work in Harvard!! I bought the groupon for amg and was a little hesitant because I'd never used and independent place like this. However, this was probably one of the best experiences I've had with a med check up. I went on a Saturday which was super convienent. I was very nervous about the blood work but the tech and receptionist were really sweet and patient. I think saw Dr Tong, he explained everything in detail and answered all my questions, not to mention wrote me my allergy prescription. They also give you results to the work ups before you leave. The only downside was I did not receive the email with my full analysis after. I will probably visit again and recommend it to anyone just needing an occasional check up or sick visit. read more

Affordable and knowledgeable. The staff very kind. I am thoroughly examined whether I go there with one symptom or have a full list for my visit. I learned of this office through a coupon and for the past 3 years they became my primary physicians. Since I dont have health insurance, they also give me discount coupons for when I get the bill from the lab, I pay only a fraction of the cost, and also a good discount card for the meds. It is not the fanciest office in the world. it is an office, clean and neat. no 5 starts hotel were you pretend to stay or wait. I get seen always within 5 minutes, my lab results are delivered to me within days via e-mail and the doctors tells you what they mean and whether you need to go back to the office or not. Both my husband and I have been using AMG Medical Group as our primary doctors for years and have nothing but positive things to say about them. Like someone said in a different review, if I could give them 10 stars, I would. AMG employs a very different system called Direct Primary Care (Dr. Muney is amazing btw) - this is where you pay a (relatively) small monthly fee and they provide a number of medical services for you for as long as you remain their member. Each one of us paid about $89-$120 / month (and they actually have even cheaper plans!), which covered pretty much everything except for the catastrophic events (so hospital stay would not be covered). However, nearly everything else, was. Our plan even included in-office surgeries, family planning, physical therapy, and a very very long list of other stuff. I had x-rays and ultra-sound done at some point, I had a full physical every year with all the blood work done, I had numerous labs and tests done otherwise, and we didn't have to pay anything extra for any of it! I have been with them for many many years and I got my husband their membership as well when he moved to NYC. We are moving to a different state, so we had to cancel AMG membership, but if you are in New York and looking for an amazing doctor (they have more than 1 btw), please consider AMG. They are amazing. Also, those that gave 1 star review because Dr. Carnaru is "Russian" and has a heavy accent: go stick your head in a furnace. read more

I purchase a Groupon to AMG for a "full exam and blood work". DON'T BUY THIS GROUPON. It's worthless. A visit to Walgreens or a health fair would likely be more helpful. I'm relatively young and healthy. I purchased this Groupon because I was having some symptoms of a rather serious medical condition. I have no insurance, and a full blood panel would have been diagnostic for the particular issue I am having. Instead of testing for that and answering questions related to it, the doctor (who didn't bother to introduce herself and who's Russian? accent was so heavy I could barely understand her), chose to lecture me about a piercing I have had for many years and which has never even been infected. I discovered that the full blood test advertised only includes liver and kidney functioning and cholesterol. The Groupon is not very clear about which tests are covered. However the discussion for this Groupon clarifies that this is a "full blood work up". The actual physical exam lasted all of 10 min or less. The Groupon states that "doctors examine the body for about 45 min". The doctor chalked my serious medical questions up to a vitamin deficiency and said I definitely wasn't sick (without running any tests). I am not vitamin deficient. I eat more vegetables than most vegans I know and take a multi-vitamin daily. I found out the whole reason they offer this Groupon, is so they can push their monthly health plans. The doctor mentioned these repeatedly and said they could definitely run the tests I need if I would just purchase one of their plans. These health plans would actually be a good value if the attached health care were any good. A few more details about my experience: - The receptionist shouted questions about my medical history and personal info across the room for all to hear instead of clarifying everything while I was at the counter. This is illegal according to HIPPA. - When they tested my stats (weight, height, blood pressure), they didn't tell me what the numbers were. - I provided a urine sample, which they sloppily put on a shelf with other samples. The nurse tossed a few that had already been tested into a regular garbage can right in front of me (not a biohazard can). She then proceeded to test my urine right in front of me with some strips. - When the nurse tested my blood sugar, there was already a used strip in the tester that someone neglected to throw away. Unsanitary. - I guess I already mentioned the doctor who was impossible to understand and who lectured me about irrelevant things. Bottom line - I spent $59 for a medical exam and I have no more information about my health than I did before. I left feeling unsettled, judged and angry. I still have the same medical questions I came in with and will now have to pay someone else to do the necessary tests. read more

I have been without insurance for a few years and so was thrilled to see a discount coupon for medical services but already had a low expectation of the quality of care. When I did have insurance, my primary care physician would double and triple-book appointments so I often waited at least an hour before I was seen. I would spend about 90% of the time with the physician's assistant taking BP, blood, EKG, etc and then would get a few minutes to chat with my doctor. So I was thrilled to walk into my appointment at AMG at be called up within a few minutes. And then was called back by the nurse within seconds of submitting all of my information. She was courteous, efficient, and professional and gave me some of my results right there which was great. I sat back down for just a few minutes and then had some time with the doctor. He asked questions, actually seemed to listen to my answers and took the time to answer my questions. He also personally emailed me a few days later with a pdf of my blood test results. My old doctor would try to get me to come in (and pay the $25 copay) just to tell me my results so I was thrilled. Their monthly plan also seemed very affordable but haven't used it firsthand. I purchased the groupon for a medical checkup. I arrived on time. The waiting time was short. The place was quiet and clean. The doctor who did the medical examine for me was Dr. Tung. He was very thorough in explaining every question I have, what examines I shall or shall not to get. When I mentioned I have back pain regularly, he did extra check on my upper back and lower back to see whether there is nerve or disc problem. Though I was not a regular customer, I did not feel I was treated any differently and was rushed at all. As a matter of fact, I feel he was more patient than most of doctors I've seen for medical check when I had an insurance. We have the membership option since 5 years ago. I work for a small company so they don t provide health insurance. My daughter and I went to the Manhattan and Queens offices. We never waited more than 15 minutes, the doctors are very professional and the reception ladies are friendly. You can get all the basic services here, like the annual check up with full blood work, sonogram, mammogram, small surgeries that can be done in the office, even physical therapy if you need it- all of this without paying copayment for the visit, when you pay about 100 dollars per month for the membership.It is a great alternative to all the other health insurance plans that are very expensive .We saw Dr. Carnaru, Dr. Mooney ,Dr.Kraju and Dr.Tang.all of them were awesome, professional and answered all of our questions thorougly.I totally recommend this place to everybody. read more

I've seen several doctors here--a physical therapist, a general physician, and a gynecologist--and they're all very kind and knowledgeable and appropriately quick or slow, depending. What's really wonderful about AMG is that there's no copay and almost everything is covered. There are no hidden costs. The only *less* positive experience I've had was when I went to see a physical therapist and got a different woman than the one I had already seen. I was not informed of this change. Honestly, if I had known that I would have a different therapist, I'd have cancelled the appointment. Substitute teachers are okay, but substitute doctors are not! Especially when a big part of the practice of physical therapy is monitoring pain and general progress. I was not happy to have to reexplain my condition to the sub doctor, and to be refused when I told her the other therapist thought the problem could be with my back, not my ankle (where the pain was). She said she wasn't allowed to look at anything but my ankle! Honestly, I felt a bit cheated. If one doctor says ankle pain could be coming from the back, the next doctor needs to check the back! I'm hoping this won't happen again, or that I'll get a phone call the next time my therapist is out! read more

This place is impersonal and feels like a woman's prison (never been to one but just felt like it). I had forgotten my wallet at home but I had my group on with me. I was told to fast due to the glucose blood work. They asked for id and I did not have it. I told her that I have the groupon and have already paid for the visit. I'm not using an insurance that you suspect fraud and ask for id. I explained that if having an id is your non-negotiable policy then it should be stated on the groupon which it was NOT. They kept me for 45 minutes arguing about the lack of id and I was almost fainting due to blood sugar drop. I walked out of there and ran to a coffee shop to get something to eat. This is appalling way to treating people. The place was dark and not very clean and for some reason I'm very glad I had no work done there. Don't go there its a patient factory! read more

A family member told me about AMG and my fears were allayed. I visited Dr. John Muney and was very pleased with his thoroughness in examining me and understanding my case. My subsequent visit to the facility in Queens went smoothly. I met friendly competent and compassionate persons who quickly and efficiently took care of me and I was out in a short while. I need say for Dr. Muney, that his follow up with me via phone and email has been most reassuring since I've seen in other facilities the dismissive behavior of medical professionals. I believe that AMG's program is the new bar in the medical industry, a breath of fresh air that truly grants equal opportunity to all. If only it was easy to find parking at the Queens location! The farthest I walked was from Park Lane South. (free parking) My male doctor is always very approachable. The last time I went in I called at 3 and they were able to see me within an hour. The handful of times I went in there was NEVER a wait. Antibiotics were an extra $10 which I think is a fair price. Migraine meds were $45. I'm so thankful for this location and service since my husband and I both lost our jobs within months of each other. I always worry about the health care of my family which includes two beautiful sons. I was a former army wife and was spoiled with great benefits. I have no complaints toward AMG! read more

It makes me so sad to see anything less that 5 starts for AMG. I would give them 10 if I could. A few years back, I had canceled my health insurance (before the ACA went into law) because the price was out of control. About 5 days after that, I noticed 3 bumps behind my ear. Very spooky symptoms, especially if you don't have health insurance. A friend recommended AMG. I signed up for their basic plan, went in, and saw Dr. Muney. He was incredibly kind, professional, and treated the issue very carefully. I had a chest X ray (to ensure the symptoms weren't lymphatic) full blood work, a head to toe physical, and then came back in a few days later for a sonogram of the bumps. ALL of this was included in the basic plan. No copay, no cost for the lab work! While I went for my sonogram, Dr. Muney sat beside me while the woman gave me the sonogram so he could give me the results in real time, instead of making me wait days for the results. Luckily, they were just a few totally benign cysts. I couldn't believe the bed-side manner, efficiency and speed with which they got me taken care of. This was in 2012. Fast forward to now where I actually have health insurance and STILL can't afford to go to the doctor with my $3000 deductible and plan that covers virtually NO doctors in this city. I've spent literally thousands of dollars out of pocket this year. It didn't occur to me to sign up for AMG again, because Obamacare mandates that I pay for health insurance (even though it covers nothing), but I looked them up again, anyway, to see if they were still around. I decided to sign up again because I just can't afford to pay over $200 every time I go to the doctor - something I frequently do. Again - the entire staff is lovely, I never wait more than 10 minutes to see the Doctor, all lab work and tests are included, and I've been nothing but satisfied. Dr. Canaru seems a little dry and clinical at first, but her sense of humor is really funny and she warms up after you see her once. She's very thorough and really cares. The main reason I re-signed up was because I had another bump issue - this time in my left breast. I was very scared, and realized having to pay out of pocket (with my useless health insurance) to get to the bottom of this would be awful. So I went in, and again, fantastic service and care. No more than 3 minute wait. No copay. I only went in for my breast issue, but they gave me a head to toe physical and blood work too. They even offered to give me a pap test! They cost a grand if you get them done at a gynecologists office without insurance! In this case, it's all included!! I went for the sonogram 2 days later, the doctor spent a half hour with me - one of the sweetest ladies that gave me a huge hug when I started to cry about how scared I was. Again, luckily, I was OK. Just more benign cysts. But I can't imagine how much time and money it would have taken just to get me to that discovery if I didn't go to AMG. If I did, in fact, have cancer, then I'd either have to rely on my crappy insurance for that - or this other company that they've teamed up with called Liberty HealthShare. AMG covers all kinds of primary care services, including physical therapy, but for specialists like dermatologists, urologists, or hospital services, you use Liberty. It's a little strange. It's not an insurance company - it's a "health ministry" that's exempt from the Obamacare mandate that costs less than insurance, has no "out of network" scenarios because they reimburse you for all doctors you go to (unless you're going for a pre-existing condition... something they can do because they aren't really "health insurance" subject to ACA laws), and "guarantees" up to a million dollar hospital coverage. I put that in quotes because you'll see online that some people haven't been reimbursed. I decided to give them a try, any way, so I signed up for this as well as AMG, and so far so good... They're really, really nice, and very responsive when you reach out to them through live chat or call...but I'm still giving it a test before I think of replacing my other health insurance with Liberty. If you decide to do the AMG/Liberty plan, and you currently have insurance, keep it, while giving Liberty a try to see how quickly you get reimbursed or if they deny you coverage for things, but long story short... AMG is an incredible service for people who actually want health care, and need to go to the doctor, like me. The office isn't the nicest looking office in the world, and 37th and 8th street is pretty gross, but I'm going to guess that just by going to them in the last 2 months, I've saved hundreds of dollars in medical bills, lots of time and I've been treated with nothing but care and compassion. read more

I have been a patient with AMG Medical Group for over 10 years and up to this point have been very happy with them. Now here is the problem with them which is causing me to stop using them. A few months ago, I had my yearly physical and blood tests. I have 2 prescriptions that are non narcotic that AMG medical group has been prescribing for me for many years and they did not change the prescription after my last urine analysis and blood work. I have to be out of NY for over 5 months and when I called AMG to have them renew my prescription, the person(s) at the front told me I have to come down for an appt., and gave me a flat refusal to renew the prescription. Since I am not in NY right now, it's impossible. I mean I was recently there and they took all the tests. I am angry enough at them now that they may not be seeing me again. Up until now, I would have given them 5 stars, but unfortunately now, I don't know how to rate them. read more
