Great service! They assisted with printing my father in laws programs for his memorial. They were so helpful and the prices were great!

I was nervous to get a poster printed here because some of the reviews were not the best. BUT I'm…read morehappy to say I had a great experience and the person at the print area was super nice and helpful. Also I called and got my poster printed 2 hoursish after I sent it in through the website= so very quick turn around time. I think it's a little expensive to print here, but overall a great last minute option and was very impressed by their customer service.

I made one of the most important purchases in my life here--a Printer--after I had so many issues…read morewith my HP that you'd think it was infected with the STUXNET virus. Printing is so underrated, when it is critical for record keeping, advertising fliers, and paperwork filing. In fact, it might have been cheaper for me to buy a printer and then take it home instead of use the kiosk--but Staples DID have the self-serve print kiosk and I had no time to decide that day. In fact, this here Staples even had a Party City department that helped me save money on helium for my child's party. And I was lucky to meet kind community here, too. So, Staples regularly has sales on printers and the day I went for a printer and helium tank (Staples: That was easy) was the day I got both at a fair price. The sales agent I met helped me get the tank, and before I left, another customer had provided me one of the two coupons from a sheet that was just the right price to save me $10 on my tank of helium. My Canon printer was more than 20% off, which covered the four year warranty I purchased through Staples as well--after my last $300 printer going haywire in less than four years, I'm not about to take these purchases lightly. The sales agents were kind and helpful as I needed to make two purchases, given the timing of finances. I had no idea Staples offered warranty for their products, but they do, thank goodness. From what I know, Staples may be nationally known, but has its central offices here in Massachusetts, so they're local. I think that's why they took care of so many different aspects of daily 'staples'--journals, binders, printers, chairs, celebrations, and a busy print office since Collective Copies had to move out from Amherst center. Things definitely seem to be odd in the world of merchandising, though. Amazon sold a box of 12 Sharpie Gel pens for $9, whereas our local Staples had the price at $20. This reminded me of how Larabars, a fruit and snack bar, can no longer be purchased in large sizes at BJ's, a local brand, while Target or Walmart still stock them in 20 packs. You may pay a bit more in some places of Staples, but I love my Uniball pens and I would rather support Staples who stocks them than Amazon. (Uniball is also missing from BJ's.) Staples likely knows what it's like to be at the front lines of paperwork demands and keeps the supplies we need as customers handy for an emergency. Thank goodness-that WAS easy!!

    Gravity Switch

    Gravity Switch

I run a non-profit organization in Western Massachusetts that approached Gravity Switch to re-brand…read moreour organization with a new look and feel, create new designs for our existing advertising materials, and assist us in designing a number of new materials we have been thinking about creating. Even though we didn't really go into money, we were talking about a a very large project that I knew would cost around $30,000 to $50,000 when all was said and done. So, when I did finally get in touch with someone from this organization after days of playing phone tag, not on my part by the way, I was afforded about a 12 minute screening call which ended in them emailing me the next day or day after letting me know we could not afford their services. They were kind enough to provide us with the names of other firms that we could afford and then, basically, wrote us off. In the 30 years I have been working I have never encountered an organization that turned clients down so quickly and with so little information. I was so amazed at what took place that I had to revisit their website to make sure I had not missed something. When I first researched Gravity Switch the feeling I was left with, and the reason for the initial contact, was that they were a progressive, creative organization with a unique breadth of expertise that could complete our project with a fresh creativity we felt was lacking in some of the other firms we had looked at. What I found in looking at the website again is just that kind of message. However, it seems that is just no the case. They tout how excited they are to work with new clients and how they look at all projects, no matter the size, with the same excitement. Well, that is not so true as we found out. I guess if you are going to contact Gravity Switch I would make sure you have at least $30,000 to start with as in their email they said that is their starting figure. If you want work done that costs less than that, please look elsewhere! I guess the real problem I have with an organization like this is I am not sure where they got their information in the first place. I know I had provided our website address for them and while it is clear we are a small organization from our website, is that enough to make a decision that we can't afford their services? For a firm that tries so hard to portray themselves as so progressive and accepting, no matter what the size of project, it seems they are wealthy enough to pick and choose, which is perfectly fine but why go out of your way to say the exact opposite on your web site then? Further, how they even come to that decision, that you can't afford them, also seems to be extremely flawed. I can't speak to their work as I never got that far. They do say they work with non-profit organizations but their list of clients is overwhelmingly white-run, private, for-profit companies. I don't think I saw one non-profit in their list of clients actually now that I think of it. So while I am not writing this review to stop anyone from contacting them, I am writing it to avoid anyone's time being wasted. I do have to admit that even though we would have met their financial criteria they decided we would not have so, really, I guess my review is to let people know money is the most important issue to Gravity Switch and to even just get through the door make sure you tell them that they will make at least $30,000 off you prior to saying anything else because the rest of it really doesn't seem to matter.
