My family and I stopped in here one night for dinner on a whim. Walked in and asked for a table for four and was seated fairly quickly. Honestly, we got lucky, so I recommend booking in advance. We ordered appetizers, drinks, and entrees, and everything was amazing. Service was a little slow, but they were busy and I don't hold that against them. Great meal and service overall. I wasn't impressed... I was enticed in to this place by the pictures here on Yelp but when I actually tried the food I was not impressed. The risotto balls entree was good but didn't come with enough sauce for me, and the risotto had a horrible taste and texture. I ended up switching main courses with a friend because I was about to send it back. I ended up eating the crumbed snapper but it was just fried snapper with mayonnaise... some sort of flavor of something would have been much nicer. I wouldn't return. The good news is, that even sitting outdoors we were nice and toasty by the heaters. read more

We ended up here two nights in a row. All of us, including the kids were so impressed by the food and service that the kids begged us to go back a second time. I had the vegetarian pizza which was covered in fresh vegetables and and but still light and tasty. My eldest son asked for a variation on the menu and they were very happy to accommodate. The kids menu is really well done too. Finally, my partner had the Gnocchi Gorgonzola... so good! Desert was amazing too. I really wanted to try the Sticky Fig Pudding but liked my son's suggestion of warm apple pie with ice cream, which was great. My partner had an affogato and it was the best affogato either of us had ever had. So tonight I am basically back to try the pudding because it's going to be amazing. The thing I really loved was the old fashioned professional service. The staff were so attentive. Water was always full. Everything was clean and the staff kept a really good check on our needs. The Short: Probably one of the best pizza meals I've had in recent memory. Price reflects quality. The Long: Had a great experience here for take away dinner. Chose the Barbeque Classic Pizza, and a Garlic Cheese Toppa. We decided upon the small size for both pizzas, and we're kind of glad we did. The Barbeque Classic was *loaded* with toppings. LOADED. And the toppings were high quality. Great tasting ham and bacon, with spicy pepperoni (well-rendered and crispy), shredded chicken hiding under all those smallgoods, and this delicious, sweet, BBQ sauce drizzled over the top. The Garlic Cheese Toppa was nice, but I did find it repeating terribly on me throughout the night because the garlic seemed a bit raw when we ate our item. On both of these items, the bases were the perfect balance between thin and crispy, but not so crispy that they flaked everywhere like the Pizza Hut thin and crispy of days gone. Clearly prepared fresh on-site. Apart from that minor negative about the garlic, the experience is one we would relive time and time again if we were locals to Caloundra. read more

The food was pretty spectacular. We walked in without knowing you needed to make reservation. The host told us we could wait for the next table and it wouldn't be long. Little did we know they forgot about us and gave our table to the group that arrived after us. So we ended up waiting longer than expected. The food made up for the crap service in the beginning. I was initially attracted to this place by the 4 star rating on yelp! The service was a tad slow and when the enormous pizzas arrived I saw the familiar second rate ham out of a bag. The pizzas were ok but at 32 dollars each I expected spectacular. The wait staff were lovely and accommodating but the meal tarnished the evening. read more

As we are locals, we always try and use the restaurants within our area, been to Amici before and my partner and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, meals were great and the service you couldn't fault. We went there last night (Saturday), just the two of us and completely different. We arrived a few minutes before our booking, got seated straight away, order our drinks, got them straight away, ordered our meals for the night, starting off with a garlic bread, received that almost straight away and then we were sitting there and sitting there for a good half our still waiting for our main meal. I approached one of the waiters and she said she would follow it up, but again nothing, mean while we had finished our bottle of wine(thought we were going to have it with our meal), we again approached the male waiter whom seemed to have a bit more authority, and came back, said it would be another 3 mins. In all we waited 45 mins for our meal, no drinks to drink with it and the meal wasn't that good, had a regular it looked like a small meal. What annoyed us also, people who came in after us(at least 30 mins) had their meals delivered to them and were gone before we got ours. The only apology we received was from the male waiter who had informed the owner and chef. I think it will be a long time before we go back again. Great food at a great price. We had a large gourmet pizza between 2 and they put the left overs in a box. The kids meals were decent with a drink and ice cream do all for $10. Had a good range of alcohol at a reasonable price too. 9 of us went there and we were all very happy with it. read more

I'm so excited. I have been to Amici Cafe a number of times with my family and my girlfriends. Jason and Sarah have always been fantastic but last night they surpassed themselves with their gorgonzola penne pasta dish. It was on the menu with gnochi and they changed it without hesitation to the dish that was a favourite in UK that I have not had for 5 years since leaving England. To top this the dessert was as always, heavenly. Whether a family meal, a fun night out with the girls or a romantic evening Amici Cafe is perfect. read more

I love love love Italian food. But unfortunately I didn't like my experience at Amici Cafe. We had two pastas, my partners was fine; it was tasty, the pasta was cooked well and we couldn't really fault it at all. Now I'm not sure whether it's just my taste or whether there was a huge problem with the making of the dish I ordered. Pasta with zucchini, prawns, garlic and olive oil. It came out very soup-like, it was drowned in sauce which was the consistency of water and the only thing I could taste was Parmesan cheese. It was like eating a fist full of salt. The waitress however was quite helpful when she asked if our meals were ok; I explained mine was incredibly salty. She was kind enough to offer and then take it back to the kitchen. I was presented with a "less salty" dish which was no different. So I didn't eat it again. I was disappointed they'd charged me the full price for a dish I didn't eat twice. But hey, as I said in the beginning of my review maybe it's just my taste. As I totally get that this place has some great reviews on Trip Advisor and Yelp which is why we thought we'd give it a go. We tried this place in 2015 and decided to go back on our next trip up the coast. Definitely didn't disappoint. Big serves so be prepared. Hubby had Rigatoni Gamberi and it was slightly too spicy, though listed as having spice, he wasn't expecting the heat it had. Sad that several buses rolled on passed but it didn't distract too much from our enjoyable meal. Great for families. read more
