I was a client of Amiee's over the past year, up until our wedding on September 20th, 2024. It's difficult to pick where to begin in writing a review for her, but I will start with that hiring Amiee was the best decision I made. When I hired Amiee in October 2023, I had only booked our venue, HMUA, and photographer. I was having a very difficult time finding a caterer. My husband and I were on a fairly tight budget. We were gifted money from both sides of our families for our wedding but would be covering a significant portion ourselves. I received a few quotes from caterers that were simply not feasible for our budget. Even ones my friends had recommended from pre covid and through 2021 had drastically increased their prices since then, and it seemed some had altogether gone out of business. At that point, I hired Amiee as I realized I needed a professional to help navigate this critical element of the wedding. We ended up hiring Amiee's catering team for our wedding, and they were our saving grace. Prior to the wedding, Amiee and her team set up a beautiful tasting for my husband and I, that felt like a romantic date night in itself. At the wedding, the food was fantastic, with my cousin exclaiming at one point during dinner "This food isn't just good for a wedding , it's GOOD GOOD!" It's been a few weeks since our wedding and my husband's boss was still talking about the food at work last week, same with my mom. I personally do not believe you will find any caterer in the Sonoma or Napa area that will provide the elevated dining experience and quality of cuisine for the affordable rate we had, and we are so grateful for that. Beyond the food, I deeply valued Amiee's breadth of wedding experience, spanning decades. A planner like Amiee has seen it all, and there is nothing she can't anticipate. She went above and beyond, helping me with some DIY tasks I simply could not complete myself due to the fact that I live 500 miles away from Sonoma. She stepped up and ensured that the day of my wedding I was not burdened with any set up tasks, and could just focus on sipping mimosas and enjoying my morning with my loved ones. Amiee also became a confidant and friend over the course of our year working together. She listened to my rants, provided wisdom, and shared many laughs. Ultimately, our wedding was everything we wanted it to be because of Amiee. We are forever grateful for the role she played during this chapter of our lives. We started working with Amiee approximately 9 months before our wedding in October of 2024. She was phenomenal at evaluating our needs and anticipating what we might want based on the process of getting to know us. Her contacts in the business are professional, courteous and everything that was brought to us was stunning. Our day couldn't have been more perfect and Amiee was a huge part of that success. Amiee is a superlative wedding planner. She listens, she offers an incredibly helpful planning process, and she helps find vendors who will realize exactly what her clients are looking for. She has a great roster of vendors and is willing to look for new ones when necessary. She helps cope -- with incredible calm -- if plans go awry or run into problems. (When our local power was shut off three days before our daughter's wedding because of unusually dry conditions, Amiee helped me find reliable generators and get them in place within 48 hours.) During the actual event, if there is a problem, Amiee is quick to reallocate staff and resources to cover it; you will barely notice. And finally, if any of your vendors are difficult or provide poor service, Amiee helps obtain appropriate changes in compensation. She is great. Amiee catered our wedding in October 2021 at Ru's Farm. Amiee provided catering and bartending services. Great, unique food and fun cocktails were among our top priorities. Chef Alex, Amiee, and the entire team absolutely delivered and exceeded our expectations. Amiee came highly recommended from our wedding planner, Cristina Heald. From our first outreach, we could tell Amiee was the caterer to go with. She was responsive, thorough, provided so many incredible options, and was fairly priced. She made the menu selection such a consultative experience - advising us on favorite dishes, items that paired well together, and what would be available during the fall. When we arrived at the tasting, there were so many thoughtful, personal touches including a printed out menu with our names and a beautifully set table. We were glad we came hungry (as advised) because the tasting was so extensive and really helped us hone menu selections. During the wedding, all of the staff were so professional, helpful, and thoughtful. They ensured we got a chance to eat by setting aside an appetizer and cocktail plate for us. The presentation of the meal was also incredible from the edible flowers to the pops of color. Chef Alex is truly a culinary artist. Our guests couldn't get enough of the food and were all pleasantly full and ready to dance the night away. We heard special shoutouts from the vegans and vegetarians who usually have a hard time finding options to eat at weddings. Amiee catered our wedding in September 2018 at Trentadue Winery. Booking a caterer was the most tedious of all the vendors. Food was one of the most expensive parts of the wedding (next to venue). I called every single caterer on our venue's preferred vendor list and was so relieved when our venue added Amiee D'maris to their approved vendor list. What I loved about Amiee wasn't just the food (see below) but also her attention to customer service. Amiee responded to all of my emails really fast (usually within minutes), she was always very clear/polite/assuring, and our wedding day went seamlessly without any issues. Amiee found ways to work with us on our budget without skimping on the quality or taste of the food (i.e. serving family style rather than plated dinner). We wanted comfort food, rather than trying to go too fancy, and Amiee came up with a beautiful menu with bbq tri tip, grilled salmon, locally grown veggies (ADE has their own local farm in Calistoga for their produce), mac and cheese, and cornbread with lavender-honey butter. She also served a late night snack of milk, cookies, and grilled cheese sandwiches. Amiee and her team prepared a wonderful tasting us and our parents and the food on the day off was exactly what we expected. Amiee did a fantastic job catering our wedding in May at Trentadue Winery. She did a great job setting up a very memorable tasting and adjusting the menu to fit our particular interests and tastes. Come the day of the wedding, the food was absolutely spectacular and our guests had nothing but complements regarding the taste and presentation. One of the major highlights was the cheese and charcuterie station which looked and tasted amazing. To truly round out her sense of professionalism and customer appreciation, there were a couple of minor issues that came up during the wedding and when we brought them to her attention a week after, she went out of her way to retroactively correct them and truly made us feel valued. Amiee catered our wedding in July at Viansa. Great food was among our top priorities and she absolutely delivered. Starting as early as the tasting, we could tell she runs her business with a personal care and touch. She took all of our food preferences, must-have flavor profiles, and even elements from our cultures (Chinese and Jamaican) and incorporated them into a perfect and diverse menu. She also provided a discount when she learned we were required to use rentals from another vendor. She took a consultative approach to planning the meal. We ultimately took her advice on family style because she recommended it would save us time in serving the meal, freeing up time for dancing, and we wouldn't have to take rsvp's on individual meal choices. She also has a designer in-house, who provided very cost effective signage and place cards. When it came time for the wedding, her staff gave us the same excellent treatment, making sure we got a chance to try every hors d'oeuvre during cocktail hour and a well-plated meal for dinner. They also packed us a doggy bag, just in case we didn't have enough to eat! When I say the food was great, I don't mean "great for wedding food," I mean great as in I wish she had a restaurant so we wouldn't have to plan another wedding to eat it! When I started my wedding planning toward the end of last year, I researched different wedding planners and caterers and I was getting very discouraged by the huge costs. We were planning a small intimate wedding for around 50 people and had our eyes set on wine country. I wanted to find a wedding coordinator who was familiar with the area. She wanted to know all the details of how I envisioned that perfect day and I directed Amiee to my wedding Pinterest board. She got back to me with a proposal and pricing and I was not only impressed by the quick turnaround but by her great attention to detail. The proposal included catering for the reception, all floral arrangements for the church ceremony and reception as well as bouquets and boutineers, complete decor for the reception, and day of coordination. Amiee provided a very reasonable price and we decided to move forward with her. She was always very attentive to our likes and dislikes and also made great recommendations. My husband and I could not be more happier with Amiee and her team as our wedding caterer. We got married last May and this review is long overdue. Amiee was a pleasure to work with. We mainly communicated via email but she would return any calls if I had further questions regarding our big day. My husband and I consider our food tasting to be one of the best food experiences we've ever had. We heard ADE moved locations but the last tasting location was amazing, beautifully decorated, and we had so much fun sitting at a table in the center of the tasting room, while having a dedicated server explain each food item to us with Amiee going into more detail about the food. She was really easy to talk to but it helped that we shared a mutual love for Hawaii. It's hectic during a wedding and we didn't get to partake in cocktail hour because we were shooting family portraits. One of the servers made sure to bring out a plate of every appetizer that we'd chosen, walked over to our photoshoot location, and didn't let anyone touch the servings he set aside for my husband and I. Personal touches like that are what make Amiee and her team a perfect choice for a wedding caterer. Bottom line, her food is amaaaaazing, the service was impeccable (our head table loved our dedicated server), and presentation was beyond our exceptions for a wedding. Aimee and her team catered our wedding in St. Helena for 160 people. Our planner did most of the coordination and planning with Aimee's team but we did choose the menu and we were so so happy with everything. We continue to get compliments that the food at our wedding was the best wedding food our guests had ever experienced! Everything was great, but the burrata salad and ravioli were definite standouts! As were the late night grilled cheeses that got passed around the dance floor - our guests definitely appreciated that! Our wedding was on Memorial Day and it was unseasonably warm, but the food held up well and service was great. We were completely overwhelmed looking for a caterer for our St. Helena wedding. Catering companies were quoting exorbitant fees and felt incredibly impersonal. From day one Amiee took the time to meet with us and understand what kind of event we were trying to plan. Here is the trick when you hire someone to help you with your event; you want someone who understands what you want but is so good at what they do you can relax and trust in that person so you can concentrate on your guests. Amiee and Peter will do that. My sister had used Amiee and Peter for her wedding and so I asked them if they would consider doing something much smaller, my Halloween party, of course was the answer and I cannot express how happy I was with them, if I could give more than 5 stars I would. Amiee helped me plan the menu, offered suggestions and really listened to what I wanted. She suggested a bartender for my party and at first I thought that seemed a bit much but then I thought of us making drinks for everyone and took her up on the suggestion and now I don't know if I would have a party without Amiee at the helm. The party was perfection and Peter did an amazing job with cooking the most delicious food. They showed up on time, hired great people to help them, very friendly with my guests and we stayed within the budget I wanted. Amiee and her team catered our wedding of 175 people at BR Cohn this June (2015) and did a truly outstanding job. I'll start with the food: the food was knock-out. Our guests and my mother (a French-trained chef with a very picky palate) were all blown away and have written us follow-up notes since commenting on how good the food was. Amiee crafted the menu for us, and we basically went with all of her recommendations. Everything was spectacular, from the lamb lollipops and Liberty Duck Buckweat Crepes (passed appetizers) to the grilled flank steak with parsley pistou and saffron fire roasted chicken (mains)...just to name a few things from the menu. Oh, and the summer squash blossom salad! Because my mom is a chef and very...particular... I definitely had some anxiety about the food in general in advance of our wedding. The food just could not have been better and we both could not have been happier. Amiee and her team did a particularly impressive job when you consider that BR Cohn is a difficult venue to cater. There are three sites, one of which is a short car-ride away from the regular site. Amiee and her team coordinated all of the rentals, making sure everything was where it needed to be at the right time. Throughout the process, Amiee worked hard to answer questions quickly and work through changes to the schedule / rentals / etc. Amiee is talented, really sweet, and genuinely wanted to make our day perfect for us. Overall Aimee and her staff are the best caterers I've ever seen in action. The food, service and extra effort are all exemplary. On your wedding day, you do not want to be worrying about anything, and Aimee will do her best to make sure everything runs smoothly During our planning process, she helped us think through every detail, and even helped with several things beyond the scope of what normal caterers would do. From the first time we met her at a tasting, we liked her. We have recommended her to every person who asks us for advice. Why is she so amazing? 1- Planning: Aimee was extraordinarily helpful planning the event. She came on site for our walk through, helped us evaluate layout, linens, flowers, etc. etc. As a Sonoma native, she is familiar with most of the venues and can provide inside knowledge on the best way to setup a dining/dancing space. At our venue, the Garden Pavilion, she had some great tips on where to setup the bar, cocktail tables and other furniture we used. In fact, she helped order and coordinate the deliver of additional decorations for us! She was highly responsive throughout, and when we decided on a menu change a week before the wedding she was able to accommodate it. Aimee also worked with us to craft a menu that addressed the numerous dietary concerns of our bay area guests without compromising on taste or quality (vegetarian, gluten free, vegan, no nuts, lactose free, etc. etc.) With the wedding days away, it is wonderful to know that your caterer is world class and will handle food and service without needing to bother you. 2- Service: Aimee's staff are courteous, well dressed and very polite. A small army of helpers descended on our wedding (note that Aimee will help recommend how many servers and other helpers are best for your wedding). They were fantastic. Immediately following the ceremony we were offered champagne, delicious appetizers were brought out to guests who were able to get drinks from servers or at the bar. Throughout dinner, the servers were invisible, yet somehow plate after plate of excellent food and wine kept appearing before us. The service understands when toasts are being made and will not interrupt. Overall Aimee has done a great job building a team of professionals that know how to do weddings. 3- Food: We never thought our wedding would be one at which the food would be a topic of discussion. Our initial plan was to find an OK caterer and be done with it. When we tasted Aimee's food, we reevaluated our priorities. We did six tastings, and Aimee was the last. By the time we arrived at her house, we had already done 3 tastings that day. Aimee won us over within ten minutes. From the divine duck crepes to the extraordinary summer squash salad with homemade raisins, we were delighted. Let me explain further just what it is that sets Aimee apart from the others. Many event caterers will serve you food that is perfectly reasonable- passable food with high caloric value that will fill up your guests and satisfy their basic need. That kind of food will taste like a hot-pocket or some sort of microwaved, previously frozen dish that you could buy in bulk at costco. You can have that kind of a wedding, or you can taste the divine with a pro who really knows how to create a symphony in your mouth. Aimee is a Sonoma native and a great chef- she understands what is in season and will make menu recommendations accordingly. Her ingredients are locally sourced and incredibly fresh. Everyone was happy, from the vegans to the carnivores. Our guests were blown away by the food she created, and we really appreciated some of the last minute adjustments she made to keep the meal seasonal and delicious. She also threw in some amazing last minute surprise touches we didn't even know about, including custom stickers for our texas-style breakfast tacos. Some of our guests were so obsessed with the salad dressing that they literally asked for takeaway containers off it, and our late night guests were actually stacking up and hoarding the amazing grilled cheese on their way out. She listened carefully to what I wanted, from the general mood to the key details (fairy lights, mercury glass) and was able to interpret my more vague desires ("Jane Austen flowers") beautifully. She also offered suggestions and raised issues that I hadn't considered--these details, such as managing the somewhat complex ceremony flow and the guest parking, made the wedding day run a thousand times more smoothly than it would have otherwise! Throughout the planning process, she was kind, flexible, and very responsive to my needs as well as my emails. She worked with us to deliver what we wanted within our budget. And on my wedding day, my husband and I were able to walk into a beautifully decorated space that Amiee and her team had created for us. She even worked with my mother to add thoughtful last-minute touches, such as heat lamps that suddenly became very important to our guests' comfort when the fog rolled in. Perhaps best of all, the food created by Peter and his team, from salmon and short ribs to quinoa and kale, was incredible--more than one guest told me that it was among the best "wedding food" they'd ever had. Jeremy made our wedding in Calistoga perfectly memorable. The food was incredible (shout out to chef Cassie), from brunch to apps to seated dinner. Not only was everything delicious, the colors were unbelievable; everything LOOKED stunning, too! Importantly, ADE is dedicated to local and thoughtful sources for their ingredients. This was critical for us, and they nailed it (they always do, this wasn't something they did just for us). But it was the small touches that put our experience over the top. When we'd walk into a room, Jeremy would meet us at the door with our preferred drinks in hand. And when dinner was served, he had pre-made plates ready for us so we could eat in the rare moment of silence while everyone served themselves (we did family style meals). ADE worked with all our other vendors fantastically, and every member of the team was a pleasure to have at our wedding. So many guests gave us great feedback about the food, and about Jeremy in particular. 5 stars for communication alone. Wedding planning can be overwhelming, especially if you look into venues that come with nothing but the space as I did. Amiee was the fastest vendor to respond (some didn't respond at all) and with the most reasonable pricing! Ultimately my fiance and I decided on a venue that had in-house catering, but I will remember Amiee for any future catering needs. I was so impressed by her responsiveness and communication skills. Amiee and her team are terrific. Creative, innovative, well managed and exceed expectations at each step. She recently helped me plan my really big birthday celebration. Overall - sublime! You're not going to find a better person to plan your wedding with than Amiee. This is someone who is going to listen to you intently, and ask you about all the little things you haven't considered that will complete your vision. Amiee saved our day at least twice BEFORE the actual event by making suggestions that prevented what would certainly have been chaos. She helped me get organized, helped my fiance get involved in a way that didn't overwhelm him, and on the day of when she saw I hadn't been able to press my wedding gown yet she got up, plugged in the iron, and went at it. She handled my mother with a calm and ultimately caring demeanor, and helped the officiant with his first-time jitters. Melissa P wrote it best - when you hire someone to help you with your event, you want someone who understands what you want but is so good at what they do you can relax and concentrate on your guests. Our food was mouthwatering. Peter and his staff made sure everything was perfectly presented, and just so delicious. The crew were wonderful, friendly, professional, efficient - everything you could want and things you didn't realize you needed. I knew I was in capable hands when one server came to refill my prosecco, tested the bottle on his hand, and announced it was just slightly too warm and he'd be right back with a fresh one. We left the cleanup to them - the report from the venue manager was that they were amazingly efficient and thorough. They left the place cleaner than we found it. I'm sure this review sounds like hyperbole to some, but believe me, they really are that good. Food -- well, I should say, fabulous, delicious, local, sustainable, beautiful food -- at our wedding was high on the priority list, which is why we were so thrilled to work with Amiee D'Maris and her phenomenal team. From our first taste, we were convinced that she would deliver just what we had hoped for.
