Our experience with Amigos Nursery was unfortunately a mixed one. When we first arrived, we were greeted by an incredibly kind and knowledgeable gentleman who took the time to show us around the entire nursery. He was extremely knowledgeable about the plants and trees, patiently answered every question we had, and never made us feel rushed. We were truly grateful for his help and left feeling very pleased with the service we received at the nursery itself. He provided excellent customer service and made our initial experience a very positive one. Unfortunately, our experience with the delivery was quite different. We paid an additional fee close to $100 dollars to have our trees delivered to our home, and the interaction with the owner, who handled the delivery, was disappointing. He had difficulty finding our home, arrived late, and at one point was across the street repeatedly honking his truck horn in frustration, loud enough that the neighborhood could hear. Once he arrived and began unloading, several of the trees had already fallen over. I politely asked if he would be willing to place them in a specific area on our property, approximately 20 feet from where his truck was parked. He refused and responded with what I felt was an unnecessarily negative attitude, telling me that if I didn't like it, he could take the trees back and refund our money. I didn't want the situation to escalate, so despite having paid for delivery, we simply accepted having the trees left where he chose to place them. There was no friendly handshake and thank you for your business. He just left with a bad attitude (40 items in total.) tree and shrubs. I completely understand that everyone can have a bad day or a difficult morning. We are all human. However, when that frustration spills over into the way paying customers are treated, I don't believe that reflects good customer service or good business practice. I want to be fair in saying that Amigos Nursery appears to be a great place to purchase plants and trees, and our experience with the gentleman who helped us at the nursery was truly excellent. Unfortunately, our interaction with the owner during the delivery left us feeling disappointed and took away from what had otherwise been such a positive experience. read more

I came here during the pandemic and bought used planter boxes for 20.00 came back to buy new planter boxes. The owner is a very nice gentleman wide variety of plants available for sale. However he does sell to large companies. He does not mind the locals and what business we bring. I bought a truck load of soil he just filled in the back of my ford. read more

I stopped by yesterday during my lunch break & I am so glad that I did. This nursery has a great selection of outdoor plants & their prices are beyond reasonable downright great. Initially I just wanted to walk around & be amongst the greenery, but I fell in love with their selection of succulents & couldn't help but take 2 of them home with me. The staff was very kind & helpful to me so I can't say anything bad there. I worked with Amigos nursery multiple times. Every time there was a definition. The first time I purchase some large trees the way did they deliver and stack those trees on the truck cause them to break in such a way that I had to deny the delivery. After talking to the owner, he agreed to switch them, because I said I'm not willing to pay for it ( if he had my money in advance he would probably not replace it). After replacing one of the tree dies shortly and of course the owner did not agree to replace it. On the most recent order, I received plants in a 15 gallon buckets and paid for 15 gallon plants, but once pulled them out of the bucket, saw the small routes, like a 5 gallon bucket just swap to the 15 gallon buckets. I had to buy some additional plants from a different nursery and I purchased a 5 gallon from the other nursery in they look much better and even bigger than the 15 gallon they purchased from Amigos nursery. I wouldn't buy anything from them again! read more

I started coming here to buy plants for my own yard after purchasing my first home nearby. The first time I was helped by Sergio, one of the owners. He was extremely helpful and willing to help. I was surprised by how reasonably priced the plants were and ended up leaving with a lot more than I thought I could get with my budget. I went back another time for plants for a larger area in my yard and was helped by Ricardo who was extremely knowledgeable about plants. I work for a developer and now use Amigos as often as I can when I need plants for any projects that involve landscaping. They give the best prices and have a large variety of plants, especially drought tolerant plants. You gotta check them out if you love plants and love getting the best price. read more

Do not shop here. The man that works there is so nice but the owner is awful. You never know who you will get. I called to get price on ficus and was sent pictures and I sent my 73 year old mother to go pick out 179 trees. After tagging 100 the owner decides he's not gonna sell them for some reason. Mind you he has 1000. Then says ok I'll sell to you but for $10 more each tree. This place is 45 mins from my house. Already she spent 1 hr picking them out. Then to have someone do that. Crazy. Then I call to talk to him and was gonna see if we could meet in the middle he said sorry we can't sell "to you". And hung up on me. Guess he's not hurting for business. I was gonna spend a lot of money for several jobs but guess not with his business. read more

I came here to buy a tree. It's located in a sketchy part of South LA but the facilities and staff were very professional and helpful. I inspected the young sapling before purchasing and there were no signs of rot, disease or other tree red flags. I paid $15 cash for a small Coastal Oak tree and the guy who was helping me carried the tree and helped me put it in the back of my car. He even answered all my questions about how to car for the tree! If I need to buy a tree, I'd definitely come back here. read more

Hi I want to share my experience with the costumer service, I bought a couple ficus trees there before the problem was the delivery and I never made the complaint but I should have!! The person that did my delivery was very very rude but I keep it to my self and just thought he was just having a bad day. Well today I wanted to purchase more trees and I had the same person helping me he was just rude over all the way he approached me and the way he was bothered by me asking questions and how last time I purchased the same trees a month ago and now he just high up the price 20 dollars more and I ask why he didn't answer so I just walk away. I call the nursery to make a complaint and Ricardo answers and I told him I wanted to talk to the manager he ask me what was the problem so I told him. He said the manager would call me back but up to this point no one has contact me back!!! Hopefully this is useful for people that are trying to buy plants there. read more

Knowledgeable salesman but owner is sort of rude, especially if you're a small time buyer. He dismisses your questions and rushes you to leave the property. Salesman should not invite customers if he's not able to talk to them when you visit because of a big ticket client. read more

If interested in starting your own small business in landscaping give these guys a try they will work with you in starting out. We bought a birch tree from a very nice and knowledgeable salesman and had it planted. The sod was very soggy and wet and there was no suggestion that we put stones in the hole for drainage nor was there a suggestion for backfilling the planting hole with amended soil. Within one month, one of the three trunks had died. The rest of the tree withered during the next months although we made every effort to make sure the tree was watched, the soil had a chance to dry out and it was watered carefully. When I spoke with the salesman, he told me to speak with the owner. Sergio, the owner, said they did not replace nor make any accomodation for trees once planted. In other dealings at other nurseries, the trees have always been guaranteed for one year. I was surprised and disappointed they would not even help with part of the cost for tree replacement. In the future, I will return to my trusted tree nurseries in the valley. read more

Amigos prices are better than most wholesale nurseries. I'm talking 50% better. This is not a big box shop with profit written in so they can take back plants when some homeowner who has no business buying there kills a plant because they don't know how to treat it.
