As panicked first time parents, we desperately googled where to take her. Hi-Gate came up with dozens of glowing reviews so we packed our puking bundle of joy into the car and drove off into a snowstorm with fingers crossed. This place is an absolute godsend. The front desk staff is super polite and helpful. They checked us in super quick, and we were seen by Dr. Adno within twenty minutes. She was incredibly supportive, helpful, and caring. She answered dozens of questions (several of them were the same question twice, we were definitely frantic) with patience and kindness. Her exam was thorough and gentle. She didn't even flinch when baby girl vomited AGAIN all over the exam room (seriously, it hit the wall). We left with a prescription for anti-nausea meds, and a real sense of calm that we had the situation under control. All in under an hour. I've never, EVER had an urgent care visit go so smoothly. A day later, Dr. Adno called to check in on our adorable puke machine, and happily stayed on the phone to answer another slew of questions. She encouraged us to call if we had any other thoughts or concerns, emphasizing she was here to support us. There's no question, Hi-Gate is now our go-to spot for urgent care for our bumble bee. They're even open on the weekends, which is a massive plus.

We have had trouble getting our records from her since the birth was over. We know life goes on. She sent an email saying she attached them, but they weren't attached. After repeated attempts to get them, our next midwife (her mentor) requested them. The requests were ignored. This does not instill confidence in the medical industry, since our awesome family doctor would like to see them and hasn't. Both midwifes we've used required payment in full up front. Well, due to the lack of follow through from both of them after the birth is over, I would strongly recommend, as with all services (I own my own business and live this), put 50% down and 50% upon completion. At least leave something on the table to make sure everything is finished out and both parties are satisfied. It puts you in the game while it holds them accountable. If having a well educated person doing the birthing process was the only concern, it'd be a no-brainer to go with Jenny again!

What an amazing care giver who is such an excellent resource for questions, quality of care and overall goodness. I was so lucky to have her see me through my entire pregnancy. She was with me the whole time and saw me all the way through to delivery which really put my mind at ease because she knew my entire history. She answered all my questions, concerns and was right on top of things from the get go. I really appreciated her thoroughness. Her office and her team of MA's are wonderful. She pretty much always runs on time or sometimes even ahead of time. She's a delightful, personable and excellent care provider. Prior to taking these classes I tried to fill out a birth plan that I found online, but did not fully understand most of the terminology. After taking the class, I was able to confidently fill out our birth plan, knowing that it aligned fully with our values and what we wanted for our birth. When we started the Lamaze class we were in the unique situation of taking class right before the stay-at-home order came out. We had our first class in person and the following classes were virtual. Liz was on top of making the class accessible to everyone. Even though it was virtual, class ran seamlessly and she still managed to keep it fun and interesting. Both Liz and Nicole are amazing instructors. They provided a plethora of great information all while making the classes fun and engaging. My husband and I constantly reference back to class saying, "What was that Liz said about...?" Each class flies by, and you can't help but fall in love with them. Taking these two classes from birthEd was probably one of the best decisions we made around preparing for birth.

My care has always been impeccable and the treatment my Intended Parents had was so courteous and respectful. When it comes to a birthing center, Regina can't be beat! They also offer a volunteer doula program and have midwives if you prefer. They are super accomodating. I get routine iron infusions here also and they are so good w/me. (I don't do IV's or needles well, so they are very tolerant of me) I'm very comfortable and reassured w/them. My knee surgery was done here years ago and went really well. No complaints there.

Besides the awesome bathrooms with neato tiles, they have huge hallways, non-80s art, and some sweet medical-techno gadgets on site. The nurses, doctors, midwives, and especially the front desk ladies are crazy nice and don't seem to be rushing me along as usual HMO providers could. Dr. Van Dyck was very rushed, giggled maniacally when he shared with me he is an introvert and only drinks his tea at home (I'm thinking to myself: "Good. Because if you had caffeine you would be a complete freak"). Like I should care? WHY are you wasting MY precious 20 minutes of time -- that you keep reminding me we are running out of whenever I ask you for your advice about something -- shooting the breeze with me and sharing all this info about yourself as if I would care? Why are you telling me about your wife? And your kids? You are the caregiver, I am the patient. My precious 20 minutes is about my health, not your personal life. Both he and his assistant Emily snickered any time they mentioned me having a very unpleasant but highly recommended diagnostic exam done -- which I thought was really unprofessional. I finally had to ask "Why are you both snickering when you say this? How is telling me I should have it done funny?" You're supposedly educated health care professionals, not 12-year-olds. It makes me extremely uneasy that the people I am putting in charge of my health care and medical records are snickering about any health-related issues I may have. Unless of course, these are not health care professionals, but health care CLOWNS. What else are they snickering about? Are they snickering about you and your health too? In his anxiety-fueled haste, the Dr. glossed over a pretty serious acute and excruciatingly painful issue I'm having because, as he blamed the insurance, "It was not in line with what is done in a checkup as insurance defines it" -- so I am going to have to end up going to the emergency room, which is then going to cost the insurance company a lot more to cover. He even did "examine" a body part related to what I have going on, but it took a visit to my chiropractor to notice that I had a tremendous amount of inflammation around my ear and lymph nodes. How could this Dr actually have even looked at the area after I told him I was in excruciating pain and not seen anything, when my chiropractor noticed right away? I felt the clinic was overall not good for anything except referrals. They were on time and everything moved along quickly, but it was really sloppy & unprofessional. And I think this Dr. needs to work on his own mindfulness and stress management skills. I've been to plenty of other medical professionals and no, they don't all act like this. If you know you are giving inferior care and you're going to use the excuse that the system won't let you give the quality of care you want to, then put some energy into changing the frickin' system, you fool. Or go into another profession because -- and I don't care what medical school you went to -- you are clearly not good at, nor passionate, about being a physician. The most I will use this doctor for is to get referrals to someone who can actually do something.
