I thought that the doughnuts were great! They also have very good coffee, and the price was very reasonable. I feel like a lot of locals hang out at this restaurant in the mornings, and that is the kind of places that I like to find! The only reason I am giving them four stars is because I had to spend a larger amount of money than usual in order to use a debit card. Overall it was a good experience though! read more

I picked up 3 dozen cookies. A variety ranging from peanut butter to wedding cookies to cookie sandwiches. My biggest disappointment is the cookies seemed underbanked. I like soft, chewy cookies but they had not baked enough to develop flavor. They were barely past the raw flower stage. We ended up tossing the wedding cookies as they had no flavor. Peanut butter was the best. I'm being very generous giving it 4 stars and doing so because we only had cookies. Maybe the donuts and other stuff it better. food cold served thru drive thru, not warm a bit, is that lawful sure aint healthy, sat in your drive thru for 25 minutes, i waited on everyone else, 7 cars, when i got up there to order, 3 times in 30 seconds did i call it in? i was not at drive thru for maybe a minute, got turkey that was room temp, i suggest put someone in parking lot, to take orders, not my fault you wre open and i ordered food. if you cant handle it get out of business, i will not be back, bunch of jerks read more

We were visiting some friends at Lake Cumberland and we love making the trip to the Sugar Shack for a Baker's Dozen. The custard filled donuts are out of this world and the glazed just melt in your mouth. They are even better a day old!!! The girls working the counter were very friendly and even gave me a slight discount on one of the donuts that wasnt included in the Baker's Dozen. :) read more

Great, local donut shop on a long strip of lame chain restaurants. The donuts are delicious, and the atmosphere is top notch. As in, old-school, no-fills bakery with cases filled with all of your favorites. My only disappointment is that the grill was closed when we stopped in on a Sunday morning, so we did not get to sample any of the delicious-sounding sandwiches. read more

THE place for donuts in Somerset. Amon's has been around for decades and is family-run; their glazed donuts have tasted the same since I remember eating them as a kid. Now they serve local coffee, great breakfasts (scratch biscuits and gravy, eggs, country ham, etc)and satisfying lunches along with daily specials. It's in a building connected to a gas station and has plenty of parking. There's also a drive-up window. They have varieties of donuts, filled donuts, donut holes, other pastries, cookies, and cakes. You can often see locals enjoying their daily coffee and dish. This is a Somerset/Pulaski County staple. Love Amon's! read more

Absolute perfection if you are looking for good home made type deserts. This being fall they have rolled out the delicious Pumpkin Gobblers with heavenly cream cheese filling. I buy walnuts to place on top for an extra sensation. If your going to eat something sweet then buy something your body can use. Pumpkin is loaded with vitamins and minerals! The cream cheese delivers calcium. Walnuts delivers important proteins, B vitamins, minerals, iron, essential oils etc.... Their muffins are delish! From pineapple & coconut to chocolate chip. It differs from day to day. Donuts are good too. Other varieties of baked goods available. I appreciate Amon's as they seem to have more of a home made taste than super market baked goods.
