Here's what we ordered: Hibiscus Sipper (8/10) - a refreshing cocktail on gin and hibiscus. It was a bit on the tart side but a good drink that I enjoyed. Shish Borek (9/10) - lamb dumplings in a sheep milk yogurt. Expertly made and so delicious. One of the many highlights of our meal. Rack of Lamb (10/10) - an amazing rack of lamb, cooked with flavorful spices with a nice crispy light char that made for a fantastic first bite! The entree came with an assortment of vegetables Batata Harra (10/10) - spicy potatoes with a bit of lemon and coriander. It came out hot and fresh and was just the right amount of crispy on the outside and light and fluffy potato inside. Kunafa (8/10) - a dessert made of sheep milk cheese and pistachios. I would rate this restaurant in my top for middle eastern food with Damas. It's no secret this place is great so make sure to call and make reservations before hand. They have a more casual branch called le petit Alep next door but I believe it fills up just as quick. The waiters and sommelier are ready to help you and offered a preset menu for groups. However, we knew exactly what we wanted to we went ahead and ordered our favourites. We started with the hummus, muhammara, fattouch salad, tabbouleh, kibbeh (baked comes with yogurt sauce) and Aleppo sausages. I honestly would recommend all of them, they were all so delicious I have no favourite out of these! We then ordered the spicy 3 meat sampler which comes with kabab, chicken and filet mignon. I could eat a whole other plate of filet mignon. These come covered with garnished pita and bring it to a whole new level. Wrap the meat with these and you'll never want to eat anything else. Very grateful for this Syrian restaurant and the consistent quality over the years, 5 star for every visit.

We were confidently assured the food was completely nut-free and that extra care would be taken. However, this was not the case. Instead of checking if she was okay, they immediately became defensive and accusatory, asking "Why do you not want to pay?". We were insulted, accused of lying, and confronted by a staff member who aggressively argued it wasn't their fault. We ultimately had to pay the bill in full for food we could not and did not eat, just so we could leave. I am shocked by such poor and defensive service. To be made to feel at fault after such a frightening and vulnerable event is completely unacceptable. To prioritize a bill over a customer's life and deny a mistake when there was an active allergic reaction is appalling and dangerous. The stand outs were the vegan platter (just everything was delicious, and I'm not vegan) and the Chicken Taouck (marinated in a garlic and pomegranate molasses sauce that was just brilliant). My one complaint, and this could be a bonus for others, was they are fairly pushy on trying to sell you on letting them curate a tasting menu for you. I could see how that might work if you've never had this kinda food and this all feels super foreign, but (and I don't pretend to be an expert in Syrian or Armenian cuisine by any means) it felt a little overtly up-selly to me.
