Amorino Amore. First learned of Amorino in Madrid. Saw a sign on the wall indicating they had shops in Lisbon & London. Score! Our 'spot' of something to do in each city was determined. This shop was a little bigger than the corner shop we had visited in Madrid. They had the same variety of flavors with a few that Madrid didn't have (two types of pistachio - my husband was in love!) Just as creamy & stuffed just as full as our previous cup, it may seem pricey but considering they'll let you put as many flavors as you want in one cup, you really can't go wrong. read more

I first discovered this gelato chain in London and I love the way they fashion their gelato scoops into roses! I got a médio with a bonus macaron onto. It was delicious!!! And so beautiful - as I walked down the street, a tourist asked if he could take a photo of it. read more

Excellent gelato, very creamy and smooth, not too sweet. I liked that I could get up to our flavors in my cup, although I only picked three. I had the yogurt, the passion fruit, and the lime and basil. All were tart but creamy and so refreshing. read more

The gelato here is delicious. You have to pay before you order, which was a bit strange. I got chocolate and vanilla - it tasted good and I also loved the flower look! They have a bunch of these in NYC where I live, so I'll continue to go to Amorino! read more

Lisbon was feeling 35 degrees that day, so I was on the look-out for some much needed ice-cream. Found Amorino and was looking forward to trying them out, as it's highly rated. Boy, it was a huge disappointment. The gelato rose was poorly made, and my overpriced frappé didn't even come with the advertised whipped cream. Apparently, the girl working that day didn't know to use the machine. She didn't say anything until after I got it. The lady on cash also attempted to shortchanged me (I gave a €50 bill) by giving me €28 back in various bills and coins thinking I wouldn't count it. Not cool! read more

"Amorino" is already regarded by artisinal creamery fans as some of the most luxuriously textured gelato found in European countries (after thirty years in business, it's starting to branch locations in the U.S.), and it never fails to not majorly impress and seduce. At best? You can get rose-shape scoops. All ingredients are naturally sourced and carefully selected; there's excellent reasons why it's pricier than your average ice cream cup. Their gelatos are really good with tons of flavors but the main draw is the cone rose with as many gelato flavors as you ask. The Rua Augusta location is always super busy and there is a long line to get in and get your ice cream. The staff is friendly and don't mind giving out samples for you to try but it does slow things down. read more

There are TWO Amorinos in Lisbon! After dinner, while I was walking back to my hotel, we were talking about getting gelato, and then we see Amorino right next to us! It was a sign that we had to get gelato! My favorite is the pistachio and hazelnut. You really can't go wrong with any flavor at Amorino. If it's your first time here, make sure to get a cone. They'll shape your gelato into a flower :) read more

Clean and easily accessible shop right of rossio square. Great customer service and all spoke English. Unfortunately, they only accept Portuguese credit cards, so we had to pay in cash. We ordered one pequeno gelato (€3.5) in a cone, did strawberry, raspberry and mango sorbets--delicious with such beautiful presentation! We also got the dark hot chocolate (€4.5) which was so rich it should've been called drinking chocolate. I've had better hot chocolate so I'd probably skip this next time, but it was cool to see that they have 10 flavors of hot chocolate and about 20 for gelato. They also had gelato macarons that looked really tasty, so maybe next time! read more

My absolute favorite gelato above Santini in Lisbon. Not too sweet and a great choice of vegan sorbets including chocolate and also banana. Kids loved it as well. Can get cones, waffles, crepes and macaroons on the side. Will definitely try to hit this place one more time before we leave. read more

In an alternate world, when the guy at Amorino told me that I could put "as many flavors as you want" into my tiny medium cup, I would've proceeded to be as annoying as possible and asked for a bit of all 20+ flavors. Because seriously, as many flavors as you want?? At some point it must get impractical. Unfortunately as a docile tourist I stuck to just two flavors, their milk chocolate and caramel. Gelato quality is excellent for a chain. The caramel was the standout--they include pieces of burnt caramelized sugar which makes me giddy. Only 4 stars simply because of the price. It's great, but at almost €5 for a medium (which is basically a small), it had better be. read more

We came back here 2 days in a row. Delicious ice cream! Not too sweet. And it's beautiful. You can also get up to as many flavors as you want which is music to my ears! There are only a handful of locations in the world so definitely try it! The coconut, grapefruit ginger, and lime basil flavors are my favorite. The mango doesn't have a lot of flavor so I would stay away. read more

Right on the tourist strip is this brilliant little gelato place will please your taste buds!. There are a lot of organic and vegan flavours, the staff are friendly, the gelato is delicious. The dark chocolate sorbet and the banana sorbet were great, the pistacho sorbet wasn't too bad. You can get as many flavours as you want in a cup, and if you get a cone they turn it into a flavour! Hands down my favorite Ice Cream/Gelato. They've got a shop in Cassis and.... as well. Real, quality gelato not that crap that tourists buy that's been food colored to with it a millimeter of its life. People if your ice cream/gelato stands up way above the rim of the vat it sits in in the display freezer it FULL of artificial stabilizers to give it that 'standing/staying' power- walk away from that crap. Try Amorino- you'll love it too! read more

Given you run into a thousand gelaterias while walking around Lisbon, I'm so glad we walked into this one! The store wasn't too busy when we popped by so we really had time to try some flavors out! Usually with gelato flavors, I like to stick to things that are a little less sweet or those that are more fruity. I ultimately went with the stracciatella and the coffee/espresso that they had but was able to sample some of the fruity flavors before that! Each flavor was perfect, light, and not too creamy. In fact, the fruit flavors had this brightness to them that was really refreshing! I was ultimately really happy with the two flavors I chose -- neither was too rich or heavy and the perfect snack for a warm, sunny afternoon. If I find myself back in Lisbon sometime soon (I hope so!), I'll definitely make my way back here. Try it out!

We came around a corner and saw a plush ice cream cone hanging out front of this little shop, so we ventured inside. Talk about kismet! Not only was there ice cream, but sorbet, too. The place was empty, save for the very nice young woman who served us, but soon it was full. Maybe we started a trend, maybe some passersby saw us and thought they might like some ice cream, too, I don't know. But, here's the other side of the coin, and it's not a downside. The shop has much more than just ice cream. Did you notice the "sardinha" in the name? There are many tins of sardines available for purchase, too. And tea. And wine. And olive oil. And olive paste. And flavored vinegars. And Sal de mer. This little shop, and it is not a very big space, although there was just enough space for the four of us to sit and enjoy our ice cream and the light breeze coming off the water just across the street, has a lot of stuff in it. We found that elusive present for one of our neighbors right in this shop - in fact two presents! The prices are good, the place is spotless, the young woman who served us was pleasant and helpful - this was a gem in an already great city!
