This is a cute little bakery shop that sells assorted flavours of gelato, crepes, and macarons. The gelato is displayed beautifully in the glass case. Right away I noticed the gelato topped with Italian maraschino cherries, which just happen to be some of my favourite things in the world right now. I ordered a crêpe with the cherry gelato inside and it was absolutely heavenly. I also ordered a few of the macarons, which contained a gelato filling. I had the pistachio, framboise (raspberry), caramel, and chocolate flavours. The pistachio was by far my favourite. It tasted like... well, actual pistachio. Other bakeries I've tried have given the pistachio ones a sweet but otherwise indistinguishable flavour, so I was pleasantly surprised at just how clearly the pistachio flavour shone through. This would has been a five-star review, were it not for the issues with their credit card machine. I had just made a purchase at another retailer before I came to this place. I attempted to pay for my order with my card, and for some reason the machine was unable to accept it. Instead of trying again, the cashier asked me to pay another way which caused a relative inconvenience for me. Unsurprisingly, when I went to make a purchase at the next retailer, my card worked just fine. As I always say, make it easy for me to spend my money. read more

Went there quite late after dinner. The two gentlemen working there were very nice and friendly. One took my daughters order and whipped her out a lovely rose shaped cone with two flavors in no time at all. The other gentleman took my order and I only wanted chocolate. The poor guy took five minutes to scoop me a cone that looked nothing like a rose. But he was so determined to try. Even his coworker was making fun of him. You gotta give him credit for trying! And in the end it doesn't matter what it looked like it was still some pretty tasty gelato. read more

Originally came for Berthillon, but it was unfortunately under renovation when we visited : / BUT I wasn't too disappointed because Amorino was a block away. I've seen their gelato cornets on social media for a while, and there's a location in my area in Beverly Hills, but I never made a visit until now. The store is located on the island of Saint-Louis, in the middle of the Seine. We walked from Notre-Dame, which was doable but much further than we thought. The closest subway station would have to be Pont Marie. There are 5 sizes for gelato in a cup, and three sizes for the cones. The flavor selection is decent, but limited compared to other ice cream shops. They also sell macarons, and you can top your cornet with one as well. In addition, there's also crepes, coffee, and cold drinks available for purchase. We thoroughly enjoyed our flowery creations, the gelato was super flavorful and smooth. The chocolate flavors were indulging, and the macaron topping was fresh and decadent. Prices were on the higher side, but much more effort is put into their products, so it was well worth the premium. read more

So good and so pretty! We got a classic cone with four flavours in a shape of a flower. We got mango, coconut, cheesecake and black cherry. My favorite flavours were the cheesecake and coconut. We also added a mango macaron on top. Just a heads up, the cone is not a waffle cone so it's meh but the ice cream itself is amazing! The waitress was nice and let us try a few before selecting. On a side note, i preferred the salted caramel flavour from here than the Berthillon one. read more

Word to the wise: Make sure to select their largest size. I made the mistake of choosing the smaller size and wanted to turn around just a few steps down the street. Take it from a fat kid, this ice cream or whatever I had was awesome. I just asked for the flower thing on the poster, they gave me a few samples, then I created my masterpiece of three flavors. Fabled to be the best ice cream (gelato) in Paris. Although I haven't done enough research to judge, it was very good with the kids begging to go back as soon as possible. The artistic scoopers, painstakingly create a flower from your color choices using many different paddles. Beautiful and delicious! First of all, I love this area. It is one of my favorites in Paris. Shakespeare & Company is back there, the Notre Dame is a short walk, there are tons of little shops and restaurants. The area is buzzing with people and Parisian energy. As far as the gelato, you get to mix and match flavors or stick with one. I went with the Ciocolato Amorino and Coconut flavors. The flower design takes the experience to another level. It is just so fun to watch them craft the gelato into rose petals. It is so pretty. The flavors melded perfectly together. The servers were very nice! I asked how many flavors I could get for a medium sized cone and the said "as many as you want" so that they could customize the rose for me. I ended up getting about six flavors: chocolate, strawberry, raspberry, yogurt, banana, and mango. It was delicious. The consistency is somewhat between gelato and ice cream, so it wasn't too thick, and the ice cream was nicely designed. (very instagrammable!) The price was about 6 euros for this though, but well worth it in my opinion if you're already enjoying yourself in Paris. read more

There were two ice cream places I wanted to try in France: Amorino and Berthillon. We tried both on the same day, back to back. While Berthillon was very good, I would recommend Amorino if you have to pick one. Two things: their portions are larger and they are less expensive. Plus, their ice cream is awesome. I had the lime & basil (tart, and tastes like a mojito) and coconut, my son had raspberry sorbet and chocolate, and my daughter had pistachio. All good! Ask for the cone rather than the cup and you'll get their signature flower-shaped scoop. Super cool. read more

Excellent gelato! I don't even like sweet stuff, but this I muchos enjoyed! If you're walking along Rue St. Louis, this is the perfect afternoon snack break. Creamy, flavorful, indulgent. I got caught in a random thunderstorm this afternoon, got all wet, upset, and mopey, and then this gelateria appeared and turned the day around. It's expensive - about 3.5 euros for a small, but it's worth it. I got a small straciatella, always my flavor of choice, and the chocolate chunks were hearty and most excellent indeed. The more famous Berthillon is a couple doors down, and I've heard wondrous things about that place, but Amorino was pretty legit too. And that's saying a lot from a person who never craves sweet things. Plus, if you're coming from the States, it's better than any gelato back home, so it's by default a WIN! read more

There was a huge wait at Berthillion just down the road, so I popped into Amorino instead. The staff was super friendly and helpful. After browsing the selection, I decided on a small cone with both raspberry and mango gelato. They shape it into a rose, and it turned out beautifully! And the flavour? Some of the best gelato I've ever had. The raspberry was very good and fresh, but the mango was exquisite. Seriously. I could bathe in that stuff. Definitely well worth the (somewhat high) price. When I was living in Paris, you find ways to try to compensate for the summer heat.....down the street I frequented with friends an Irish Pub, with great drinks, and for dessert we always walked down to this place... Rue St Louis has tons of tourist stuff, so this place always had a line out the door....regardless the time of day....it is quite fancy for a gelateria, but the vibrant flavors are spectacular....bold, fresh flavors ranging from your standard chocolates, vanillas, hazelnuts, and tons of fruit....I remember an instance where I had Passion Fruit that they made into a flower....if you have the chance and in this area of Paris, you have to check it out! a 5 out of 5 read more

Delicious! My girlfriend had her heart set on a different ice cream shop in Ile St Louis, but we got to it and realized it was closed. We had passed by Amarino on the way and I thought it looked really good. We went in and both got gelato of assorted flavors, mine in a cone hers in a cup. Hers was topped with a macaron that ended up being gelato-filled. Awesome! They really pay attention to their presentation and both the orders looked beautiful and tasted amazing. Definitely high quality even for Paris. We loved it! I saw this brand again in Italy later and would be happy to try it again. Great job! read more

The Rue St Louis en I'ile is a lovely place to walk down and shop. It was a quite warm day so we stopped in for the famed Amorino gelato. They sculpt your gelato into beautiful rose shaped cones. Ice cream is a thing to do on Île Saint-Louis, so while wandering around that part of Paris on a sunny June Saturday, we set out to find some that would be gluten free for me. Surprisingly, I have been told at other gelato shops in Paris that their sorbet is gluten free but their gelato is not, which is always disappointing because sorbet is just not my thing. While I was waiting in line to ask, my husband noticed an allergen sign posted right on the wall that said there were only about 3 flavors I could not choose from! Happy me!! They also have macaron cookies, which are almond flour based so are also fine for GF eaters. So go enjoy some ice cream with all the other Parisian tourists!!
