As a black man, in my culture we don't get into bike riding as much as we should. I was hesitant because a lot of shops seem to not like black patrons and their money. A great selection of Ebike rentals right next to Lake Washington. I recently visited Seattle for a baby shower but was lucky enough to sneak in some outdoorsy time by the lake prior. Amped Adventure was the perfect outdoor activity for an afternoon with limited availability. We booked our ebikes a day before so they were ready to go as soon as we arrived. The process of grabbing the bike was quick and painless, letting us maximize our 2-hour time limit on wheels. This storefront is situated right next to the most gorgeous trail. Once you cross a single busy intersection, you're in serene lake territory. The sales experience with Ryan was a 10/10 but any communication after our purchase was a 1/10. They did not respond to any of my texts or emails, even though those are the methods they recommend when you call their phone number. When we purchased the 2 bikes, we requested that they be built together and they weren't so when my husband's bike was ready, I reached out to see when mine would be ready, with no luck in reaching anybody for answers. Terrible communication, when they do communicate they lie, and they offer zero solutions. No compassion, no sense of urgency, no pride in workmanship, no honor in their word. Disappointed in my service here does not even cover it. I ordered an item direct from Segway on July 3rd. Segway suggested delivering to their trusted dealer, Amped Adventure, and since I wanted to support a local business as well as planned on buying accessories anyway for the item, I figured I would deliver it here and pay them to assemble it and purchase accessories from their store instead of Amazon. On Friday, 7/11 FedEx attempted to deliver the item to the store. The store declined receipt. They are open Wednesday through Sunday, but the store didn't allow redelivery until Wednesday, 7/16. I contacted Segway and they told me I had to resolve this with the store. The kicker is the store will not speak to you. They have a phone number, but won't answer a call (ever), or return a voicemail. This item is a gift which I had ordered with plenty of time to arrive, but due to their refusal to accept the item, now I was worried about having it done in time. I finally received a text from them on 7/16 several hours after they received my item, stating that it was there and asking me if I wanted to pay $180 to have them assemble it. Since I was already crunched for time, I answered saying yes, but only if it could be ready by 7/24 (remember, it's a birthday gift). They responded saying no worries they could do that and they would text me when it was ready. Radio silence from them ever since. I broke my ankle this week and would need to coordinate assistance with picking up the item, so I texted them yesterday asking for an eta of when it would be ready to pick up since I hadn't heard from them. They didn't respond to a single text message, phone call, or voicemail I left them. I live over an hour from their location, more with traffic. Finally, feeling panicked that we would not have this item before leaving town tomorrow for my son's birthday, I had my husband drive over to see if he could talk to someone and get answers. The staff told my husband they had received all of my messages and just chose not to respond to me. They said they didn't have the bike, it wasn't at their store, it hadn't been assembled, it was in marysville at their warehouse, and they had no employees at their warehouse available to assemble it today. I do not understand how a business can operate this way in good conscience. The fact that they had received my text messages (the stores preferred method of communication according to their voicemal), and they knowingly chose not to reply (at all) knowing they did not have my item (period- they didn't even have my item at the store and couldn't give it to us) and knowing they had guaranteed it would be ready by today--- I am baffled not a single person communicated any of this with me, responded to any of my messages, offered any solutions or resolutions, and left me with no time to figure out a plan B for my child's big (and only) birthday gift this year. Not to mention, this item (over $2,400) was PAID IN FULL on 7/3- however since I trusted it to be delivered to Amped Adventure I am out time and money and have extra stress and burden to figure out a birthday gift when delivering it to their location was done in an effort to have the exact opposite outcome! Things happen. But it feels like their chronic understaffing is standard practice for this business. They don't care about you or your business because luckily for them the demand for bikes is higher than their lack of customer service. None of this excuses their complete failure to communicate with me so that I could try and make arrangements to salvage my son's birthday/gift. Incredibly disappointed and concerned with this business and their practices and will absolutely under no circumstance use them in the future nor will I ever refer anyone to work with them ever. I will also speak to Segway as they really should not partner with this store unless Segway also does not care about their reputation or how the companies they partner with treat their customers. While it sounds like the newer model (that hasn't been released yet) will be a better fit for me, I could not have asked for a more enjoyable experience. I had been doing a lot of research on what kind of e-bike I wanted to get for myself. I was torn between rad power bikes and Aventon, and decided to go Aventon because of higher customer satisfaction rating , and felt like it was the right brand for me. I really didn't know what to expect walking up to the storefront, and was a little nervous since I had so many questions. I was greeted by Chris, who answered all of my questions effortlessly and didn't make me feel like a bother for having so many. I test rode a few bikes and asked for specs/differences between each bike and settled on the one I anticipated to buy from my own research. I rode 4 different bikes, and narrowed it down to the Aventure 2, and Level 2. I was able to ride each bike multiple times to get a feel for what I was looking for. They had the Aventure in stock in the color I wanted and modified the bike with a front rack, a back seat with pegs for another rider if I wanted, and a phone mount. They had my bike ready quickly and both people I interacted with were very nice and I am beyond happy with my purchase. I highly recommend this shop for anyone looking for an e-bike- they had other brands other than Aventon too. read more

Gordon was amazing. I had a brake adjustment issue with my new RadRover 6 Plus (Hydraulic Brakes). I called Rad Bikes and they told me it was going to be 6 weeks before they could look at my bike! Rad Bikes listed Amped Adventure out of Lake Forest Park on their website as an authorized repair business. The brake handle had to be pulled in too far for my liking. I called to schedule a service appointment today, Gordon answered the phone and talked me through it on the phone! What incredible service. He took the time to listen to my problem and walked me through the fix, on the phone at no cost! He walked out to my truck with me and took a look at my, probably too fast , new scooter. With a couple tweaks of a screwdriver and some witty banter he had me on my way in about 5 minutes. Had my Kugookirin g3 scooter serviced here -- flat tire changed with one I ordered from manufacturer, brake pads changed with ones I ordered from manufacturer, some wiring fixed up related to my motor still going while braking, a problem they found and told me it was good to have fixed but not necessary (also they gave me the additional cost before fixing it), general tune up. I scheduled a drop-off for my scooter on August 31. They were booked out a few weeks, so my drop off date was October 12. I was able to drop it off a few days early because I was heading out of town, so I actually dropped it off on October 8. I came in today (Oct 18) to check on the status because I hadn't heard a peep from them, and I was told that they haven't gotten to it because they've been busy. So I'm not sure what my appointment was for exactly, but it wasn't for them to work on it. They're grossly understaffed and overworked and then expect you to just be okay with it. Sorry y'all, I am so sick of taking the bus everywhere because you're the only place in town that works on scooters but haven't adopted to the conditions by hiring more people. Your poor workers, I feel sorry for them because they're set up for failure. Get more employees and/or a bigger space, or another shop. It's really not okay for you to just take our mobility devices and expect us to not need them back. If a car repair facility worked like this they'd be out of business within a month. Bought 2 new bikes, they called and told me bikes were in and would be a couple days before they could get to them, a week later when I called to check, they said they haven't started on them but should be next day, 2 days later I went down to see what is going on. Very chaotic, seems like good employees, but under staffed and poor managed! Was told would be done next day, was able to pick up 2 days later. I went to this shop to buy a bike for my wife and have my bike fixed. They told me they couldn't give a me a quote on having my bike fixed but would call me in "a day or two" with the quote and have it fixed in "2-3 weeks". After a week of no contact I tried calling but their phone goes to an automated service and if you navigate to a phone call it goes straight to voicemail during business hours. After 16 days and a series of text messages I gave up. They never even looked at my bike. I went and took it back. Maybe they were just very excited about selling my wife a new bike so they told me what I wanted to hear about my bike. I lost two weeks of prime riding time for nothing. I spoke with Chris today. He was both patient and knowledgeable. He showed me several bike to help me narrow down what may work for me. They had a bikes in stock and there are more bikes on the web page that can be order. Adjustment are included for the life of the bike a great savings. Also you can test drive there bikes. Other bikes you can be rented. I'm looking forward to renting one bike in my short list for the day to get a real understanding of how it will preform. Great customer service and reasonable price. I needed to replace the tires on my Hiboy S2 Pro, and I don't have the tools, time or the space to do it myself. Their scheduled appointments were full until November, but I called and explained that I have the tires. They said to bring it in, and that when they're able to get to it that they would. To my pleasant surprise, I dropped it off on Tuesday and it was ready for pickup on Friday. It's quite an ordeal to replace these tires, and it is a process. As one of the employees put it, "We'll have a tire replacing day at some point." They were able to service my scooter so efficiently perhaps due to the fact that I had supplied th'em with the correct parts to complete the job. Discovered that Lake Forest Park now has an e-bike rental and sales shop right next to the BGT! Amped Adventure has a nice selection of e-bikes and scooters for rent. I've been thinking of buying an electric bike for a few months now, and have been having issues finding a frame that would comfortably fit me since I'm only 5'1". I opted to rent the Gen3 Stride and it was great fit after some minor seat adjustments. We took our bikes down the trail and tested them out going up the hill toward Shoreline. I have a bad knee that has made going up steep hills painful, but the Stride made it feel like breeze! I'm definitely renting from there again and so far this model bike is at the top of my list to purchase down the line. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable! I took my son's Rad Power bike to Amped Adventure after learning that both Rad and REI would take a long time to make repairs. Amped has his bike ready in two days and it runs great again! Very reasonable prices. Friendly staff. Apparently they fix all types of bikes. They also rent e-bikes, and they are right next to Burke-Gilman. I was at the Lake Forest Park farmers market when I noticed a person moving bikes out of a business called "Amped Adventure". And being a bicycle rider for Most of my life I thought, "Hay, why not go have a look?" Wow! Electric bikes!!! Even a 21 speed electric bike! I managed to spend some time with Chris, super nice, very knowledgeable and one of the owners. He shared some history of the company, a lot of details of the Flex and invited me to take it for a test ride. As I was 'Maning' one of the booths at the farmers market, I couldn't take a test ride at that time. I stopped by for another short visit before the farmers market closed and met Troy one of the other owners also another super nice, knowledgeable individual. I told Troy that I would be back after the farmers market closed. After the farmers market closed, I did go for a test ride on the flex and it met and exceeded all of my expectations!!!!
