She pulled up to a pump, put her credit card in the machine and it said lift handle and pump. She pumped gas but the machine stopped at $15. She thought that was odd and was getting her card out again when two men (no am/pm uniform) were quickly walking towards her. They started shouting at her that she is steeling gas and that she is not allowed to pump gas. They got in her face and started demanding that she give them money. At this point she is terrified and thinks they are crack heads (common in this area). They demanded cash. They demanded she open her wallet and give them money. She offered them the $10 she had in her wallet. They said that wasn't enough and that she had to go inside and swipe the credit card for more money. At this point she still wasn't sure if she was being kid napped or robbed. When they got inside the older middle eastern man went behind the counter, this is the first time she realized he might work here. All the wile still telling her that she can't get away with this and making her feel scared and as if she had done something illegal. They then took her card and charged the $15 to a different pump, sounds like it was for the other man in a white van (also terrifying). She was crying telling me this story. Today I had to buy 3 items for Issa who lives in this house with me. I drove over to this Big K Market this evening. I parked in the side parking lot and then I locked my car door and started to walk towards the front of this Big K Market. Then I walked into the open door. William this older man was operating the front cash register and assisting some of their customers. Then I was asked by Issa to buy her one pack of these Red Crowns Generic Cigarettes. The price was $8.99 a pack. I also bought one two liter bottle of Sprite, one blue Bic Mini Lighter for $1.86 and one King Size Snickers Candy Bar for $3.00 I bought this Snickers Candy Bar for myself but these other items Issa gave me $20.00 in CASH to buy her these other items. My total purchase was $19.69. William this guy with dark black hair and a beard smiled when I was at the counter tonight. I asked William how much is they're cheaper generic brand of cigarettes? William said it's called Crowns Cigarettes and one pack will cost me $8.99. Yes these cigarettes are much cheaper but the pack is very small with 20 cigarettes on quantity. This is my second time I had to shop at this Big K Market. This store is very small but is filled with a huge variety of different types of products. I saw Alcohol, Chips, Bottled Soft Drinks, and Candy Bars. I think their prices are too expensive and their prices are overpriced . They have a lot of cool stuff here that is not the normal junk at the .99 cent stores. I had a basket of items ready for purchase and went up front. A customer came in to purchase some chap stick and as soon as he walked out the owner started talking crap about the customer right in front of me like I was not standing there. I stood there conflicted because I do not like to spend money in places where I do not think that the owner should get a sale. As I was standing there he decides there is something he needs to go do in the back and he chose to not only walk by me but almost knocked me over with out any words of "oh excuse me or pardon me". I put my basket down and walked out. I might seem like a snob but I just can not justify spending my money in places where they do not care about their customers. I just cant. This is the only place that I know you can purchase food items, toys, clothes, tools and bongs all in the same place that also accepts EBT.

The owner ended up ripping the advertised price down saying he will not honor the .50 cent difference price for a loyal customer. Tough times out there. Their snacks, specifically candy and chips, selection is always enormous and they do a superb job of keeping a nice variety of drinks ranging from juice, sports drinks and beer & wine. Another big pro are the basic household items; toilet paper, milk, cleaners, body products, and more! It's always clean and feels safer than some similar establishments, maybe due to having a large parking lot and being well lit. Cashiers are always on the look out to keep us safe as well.
