The yield on the trees was abundant and I picked a good 5lbs (the minimum, FYI) and they were SO delicious! I took them home to process and turn into tart cherry jam, a jar of which got swirled into some homemade vanilla ice cream with an oat crisp, making it the most delicious cherry pie a la mode flavored ice cream! They also had an great crop of gooseberries and black currant when I was there. Red currant was on the horizon as were raspberries. Unfortunately they're probably done picking now but in just a few weeks we'll likely have another round of raspberries and, of course, delicious apples (and cider and donuts, natch!). Visiting here, no matter the season, is just a joy. I'm so grateful we've got them around for all our upick needs!

Several people I know have had this same issue. A group of about 10 people left the line when they noticed it happening. I would love to make this go-to orchard but because of this hygiene issue, I just can't. And in case you wonder-they've been told it's an issue. They don't care I guess.

It's a cute, cozy mill with amazing cider, made in-house. This fall, I got their frozen cider and loved the cinnamon taste. I've also previously had their apple donuts which were nice and warm! I am certainly not denying the great selection of apple products- donuts, caramel dipped apples, cider, hard cider, and more. I am hoping it's a bad coincidence that in the last 3 years I have received rude customer service and want to give the benefit of the doubt to a family owned business. It always seems to be very busy whenever I go and I want to attribute the staff to being stressed or hot, however I do expect common courtesy wherever I go, even if it is busy. The staff threw my apples into a bag without care, grabbed my items from me in a frenzy to ring me up, and rushed me into a decision, all while not even thanking me for coming in or making eye contact. I observed this with other customers as well. I'm writing a review after visiting multiple times because it has been the same treatment every visit. I again, want to be as generous as I can to a local business because I love to visit places like this, but want to provide honest feedback on a place I enjoy!

We went early in the morning to get there before the crowds or the buzzing bees around the spills that happen outside when it's so busy mid morning on a Sunday. They can turn those sounds out from the kitchen so fast and hot before the line gets longer than the length if the building we bought enough to fill us up for the morning but took more to eat later too they are so fresh that even the next day we happily polished off the rest. My favorite are the cinnamon sugar and the cider hit. But they have cold cider as well and a case of random other pastries made there too. The apple fritters looked enticing and were selling fast but I can get those at home where nobody makes cider donuts like this! I hate missing even one year doing this but lucky we could fit it in this year They also cave a cute gift section. Inside, it smelled great and we ordered 6 donuts, 2 of every flavor, an apple pie, and a hot cider (since the employee said it was pasteurized). Everything was kinda underwhelming and only the cinnamon donut was the best because it had a crunchy texture. The plain donut also has a crispness to it but it doesn't have any special flavor. The apple cider was more on the sour side and I didn't prefer it. They do have a petting zoo area with goats. There are also pigs to look at and chickens. I really enjoyed their sunflower fields! Beautiful and vibrant colors! I have never seen a red tinted sunflower before. We would return to try the apples.

We reserved Bonfire No. 7 for a perfect fall night for four hours. Three Cedars Farm is definitely an attraction in Northville complete with bonfires, hayrides, a corn maze, and of course apple cider and donuts! The bonfire was a great spot to hang out, put up a tent, grill some burgers and hot dogs and make s'mores. The staff periodically would come by on a cart to drop off more wood. The hayride was a nice short ride from the front of the farm to the back of the farm where the corn maze is located. Tip: I recommend that you bring flashlights and/or lanterns for when the sun goes down to enjoy your bonfire area. There is no light in the corn maze and you will resort to using the flashlight on your phone to try to find the Christmas tree stations in the maze. Don't forget to keep track on the corn maze postcards to turn in at the Donut Hut to be entered into a drawing. The only drawback are teenagers hiding in the corn maze jumping out at people in the dark. I hope no one gets hurt and this continues to be a place for adults and children alike. Also note the Donut Hut closes at 8pm although we were at the bonfire until 10pm. So get your share of cider and donuts early. I think the value of experiencing fresh donuts with hot apple cider sitting around the bonfire was perfect and worth every penny. I would like to go back next fall. Their current attraction is The Country Store complete with photos with Mr. & Mrs. Clause in Santaland for a limited time.

I love this apple orchard. It is a hidden gem tucked away on a side road near saline. A lot of…read moreapple orchards are overly commercial, overly crowded and overly manicured (paved roads, neat signs, orderly rows etc). If you want a silly theme park feeling (hay rides and cider and all that) this will not be the orchard for you. If you prefer something a little closer to what a Michigan Orchard is and was, you will love it here. This place is a little older, a little wilder and far less crowded than most UPick Orchards, giving is a "secret garden" kind of feel. I love that you can wander through the orchard without tripping over people and that you can experiment with an assortment of apples of all shapes sizes and flavors (who cares what it is called, take a bite, find out and if you are curious ask Bill and he will tell you all about it). This orchard has more varieties of apples than I have ever seen before including rare heritage breeds (Wolf River, and Snow Apple for example) and some of the newer apples that we are all familiar with (no Gala yet, but I think they are coming), he also has a few Quince and Asian Pear trees. Upick apples are $8 a half peck. They keep the spray to a minimum, so these apples look a little less pretty than normal, but are probably better for you. He also has honey and will sell apples by the tree - you buy the rights to an entire apple tree at the beginning of the year and reap the rewards come fall (great for gifts!). Also, for people interested in picking apples this year - they have arrived early this year all across MI and Ontario, so you better get out there soon, or there may be none left!

She seemed slightly annoyed, and said yes, and that she would be with us "shortly." After another two minutes had passed and we had already gotten my 18 month old daughter out of her car seat, we were eventually told that we needed to drive another mile down the road to pick. Not off to a great start... Upon arriving in the orchard, there were no employees or signs to guide us or explain any of the available apple varieties. I found it interesting that the few other customers we saw already had standard orchard bags, which apparently had not been offered to us at the barn. The actual picking was not good either, as many of the apples were very high up and out of reach. After some time we were able to accumulate a fair amount of apples, however, and drove back to the barn to pay. The woman who had so pleasantly greeted us earlier then seemed confused as to why we did not have one of the proprietary half-bushel bags, When I calmly said I didn't think a bag had been offered, she not only criticized me for not listening, but raised her voice and demanded that we pay $20 for an entire bushel. When I suggested we transfer the apples from my bag to one of her standard bags, she was resistant and outright disrespectful. I have never witnessed such poor customer service at another apple orchard, or any self-respecting business for that matter. All of these problems could likely have been avoided with a few simple signs to provide direction, which would be much more efficient than relying on verbal communication. That being said, my family will never return to this orchard due to the blatant lack of respect with which we were treated.
