I have been going to Junko once per week for the past 7+ years! Junko is an amazing, attentive, encouraging, gracious and mindful instructor. She is 110% focused on you when she's with you. Working with Junko is as good as it gets. Due to poor posture and a weak core, I injured my back while training for a half-marathon (bulging discs in my lower back). After working with Junko for a few months, I saw a dramatic improvement in my posture, and my back pain went away completely. Junko basically gave me my life back! Before I started taking Pilates with Junko I could barely walk, sit or do any of my normal activities because of debilitating back pain. I had a torn disc and a compressed spine. My doctor wanted to do a spinal fusion but I wanted to find more of a natural remedy. When I first started Pilates Junko was careful in choosing gentle Pilates exercises that wouldn't aggravate my back. After about 2 years of seeing her every week I was pain free! My journey with Junko at Amrita started with a friend's introduction. I suffered hip, knee, back and shoulder issues. This all was aggravated when I injured myself at home during our remodeling. Slowly, with Junko, all of my physical issues started to diminish I am back to my normal self without limitations. I have been with Junko for almost 8 years. Junko is an excellent clinician who has a strong anatomical background. To this day she still adds to her knowledge base by attending various seminars throughout the year.
