Spent money on family outfits ( I have 4 kids) 2. Spent money on other things like haircuts for husband / kids / my lashes 3. Last minute is crazy 4, she gave me my deposit back but honestly decent thing to do was give me money back / offer free family photos This was unfortunate, we also pulled our kids out of school early so we could get ready on time There is a huge picture to look at before canceling with clients, hope she does better. read more

BEWARE!! AMS Photography is one of the worst photographers I have ever worked with. Not only was I treated disrespectfully but, I also spent money outside of paying Alexis to be at an event she planned and then backed out of last minute. Without apologizing to me or trying to work with me on a future date. I booked a mini spring session through Alexis, the owner of AMS Photography and was super excited to receive photos and professional services. It was going to be featured at a festival and because of that we had booked 7 weeks ahead. Anyways, going into less than a week before our shoot Alexis decided to cancel our session because she wasn't able to get tickets for it. Keep in mind, we bought our tickets at the time of booking with her, which were all together $60+ and are non-refundable. Then, without apologizing she gave us one date to work with and at her own digression. It was supposed to be a family shoot and the festival was a few hours away. My mom was going to drive up two hours to get to where I lived and then we would all caravan together the day of. However, since she backed out, we still have to go up there. After explaining how we still have to go and how they are non-refundable, she gave no apology and blamed the festival for the issue. Without even trying to work with me, she sent me my money back after I asked a general question about her coming up to where I live on a certain day to do our shoot, basically saying "here you go, take your money." I tried to work with her after that and was trying to explain to her that I was upset but she continued to stay hostile and show no sympathy towards mine or my family's situation. In the end, she attacked me personally and said in text "I did offer a new date that didn't work for you and gave you a refund for your deposit. So, at this point there is nothing else I can do for you. You came across angry from the get-go over something I can't control now." It was something she could've controlled from the beginning. The tickets were available at the time I initially booked with her (7 weeks before). As for her saying I came across angry, I am a paying customer. In the beginning I tried to make it work with her and she continued to keep my feelings unvalidated. I am fearful for future clients who want to work with her. I was treated disrespectfully as a customer who was paying her to be there as well as paying for the outside costs, that are not even refundable now. I have not been compensated with an apology or a later date. Alexis is and will be one of the worst photographers I have worked with. Thank you for reading and beware! read more

Funny story, I'm from Delaware (yes, opposite coast from Alexis) and I was SO fortunate to have discovered Alexis as I searched online for different Oregon-based photographers to take photos for my 30th birthday trip to Oregon. I came across her photography page and was amazed by her talent + photography style. I reached out with my fingers crossed and Alexis quickly responded to my inquiry. She proceeded to exceed every expectation in every way from meeting us at the location we wanted to shoot, to sticking it out in the stormy weather to capture some INCREDIBLE photos of us in the rain at Cannon Beach. Alexis has a personality that you can instantly connect with and it made our photoshoot effortless. We are friends for life and we met via social media, go figure.
