Updated review: En route to where I was going, I stopped by this Amscot location in Pembroke Pines to get a money order and a stamp. There was only two people receiving service when I entered the building. I was told by an employee to stand by a window and I'd be helped in a few minutes. Brought a bank statement as told. I told her that. Service person rude. "Let me see that". "Are you registered with us.?" Because I wasn't and brought a bank statement as I was told to do, instead of a Payback check and I hadn't done business there before she spoke and looked at my legal docs. like I was crossing the Kazakhstan border. I just left this amscot and one of the employees here named Ashley (Curly hair)working right now at 11:20 at this location on 12/16/2019 did not let me get a money order because I wrote my occupation is a student. She kept asking me where I worked before and how I make my income. I didn't realize you had to get interviewed before getting a money order for an amount of 1000 dollars. Petty money. Ridiculous. My husband is a nurse, works and is financially stable to take care of me even if I didn't work. I'm a nursing student. I didn't know it was necessary to have a job and bring your W2S to get a money order. I rather pay for it next time. Completely unbelievable read more

I am currently waiting (forever) here as I write this review. I mean, what else is there to do while these employees dilly dally around while I wait for them to recognize me. This establishment is extremely unorganized. They jump from window to window "helping" other customers before finishing with one customer first. This is a great annoyance! They think their being efficient when doing this but in reality, it slows things down 100%. The ONLY reason I came here was because my usual check cashing store is closed on Sunday's...what a shame! I have been here waiting for at least 45 min now as I watch everyone else being helped and walk in and out. I was told by an employee to let ANY employee know when I was finished filling out paperwork. Well, I finished and I told every employee who walked past that I was finished. Every single employee looked at me like I had 5 heads. Needless to say, her advice to "let any employee know" was pointless and caused me to wait even longer and this is why they need to just stick with one employee helping (and finish helping) each customer they started with. This is absolutely ridiculous!! I will be calling corporate. Samantha (I'm assuming the manager), Judette, and one other person who I think is named Rose, (if I read the name tag correctly) all need to get it together! Although, they might not fully be to blame...it could be how they have been trained to do things, in which case Amscot needs to come up with a better system. Not to mention, I am not the only one here complaining. There have been at least 3 or 4 other customers in here in the almost hour now that I've been standing at this window who have made complaints anywhere from confusion about the line (there's no signs or any indication of where you should wait), people skipping in front of others and employees ignoring the customers complaints that they were in line first, complaints about how FREAKING long it takes for something so simple, and another lady complained about having to resign up due something going wrong with their system even though she has been frequenting this location on a bi weekly basis for over a year. I'm not sure if it's just this location, as I've never been to any other location but this may be the LAST time I ever deal with this horrid place! Also, it is ridiculously hot in this hell hole! The set up is awkward with no where to really stand that you can see what window is available. Then they wave you in to stand at a window where there's no one available to help you without telling you to "wait please" "someone will be with you shortly." Then you need to register to obtain a money order without any clear reason why and this form asks for your detailed work information. Lastly, once all of this is done; the money order is slipped through the slot and the person walks away without a thank you, or have a great day. Nothing. On 9/18/19 I went to the Amscot store in the Pembroke Commons plaza in Pembroke Pines Florida to purchase my monthly bus pass. I've been going to this same store for over 3 years now and every month I buy a 31 Day pass for $70, when I went in this day to purchase I was given a pass but didn't realize the lady who helped me gave me a 7 Day pass which costs $20, I didn't find this out until I swiped my pass on the bus days later and found out I paid $70 for the wrong pass...I never thought to look at the pass after I purchased it since I never had to in all the years I've been going there. When I called later that same day I was told to come into the store with my receipt and I would be taken care of. I went back to the store the next day with my receipt and was told by the lady who helped me that she would have to call and speak to the regional manager to see what the next step would be to get the correct bus pass. After waiting about 50 minutes she told me that there was no overage in the cash that night (bus passes could only be paid by cash) and the manager said there was nothing they could do because there was no way to prove that I didn't just find the 7 day pass somewhere and was trying to scam Amscot out of a 31 day pass. It seems to me that if there's no overage in the money that means either one of two things, the employees there can't count money which is strange since they work at the Money Store or the girl who took my money that night put it in her pocket instead of the safe. How insulting is that? Not only was I given the wrong pass and had to go back to the store again and wait nearly an hour only to be told there's no way to prove I wasn't trying to scam them. I was told by the lady to call the Amscot customer service number, which I had already done the same day I realized I was given the wrong pass, to see what they could do. After several attempts to try and get someone to help me I was told by Tracey that a final decision was made and there was nothing else they could do. So basically my money was stolen, then I was accused by the same people who stole the money that there was no way of proving I wasn't trying to scam them. If the company really valued and cared about their customers then they would try and get to the bottom of this matter..there must be a million cameras in that store so they could have easily reviewed that transaction and see that I was given the wrong pass (31 days is red/7 days is blue) especially since I had the receipt which showed what day/time I was there and what register I was at. I had to go back to that store again later that week to purchase yet another 31day pass because my 7 day pass was about to expire so another $70 wasted when I had just purchased one the week before...unfortunately the passes are not sold at many locations that are convenient for me due to the proximity of where I live. Overall this has been by far the worst customer service experience I ever had in my entire life. I know this review is not going to make a difference in Amscot's policies but at least if one person could be spared the same horrendous experience I went through than it'll be worth it.
