There was a decent amount of avo inside the sandwich, which you'd hope would be the case for the price. The sandwich is naturally vegan by nature which was perfect for me. You basically choose which sandwich you want, put it on your tray and end up paying for it at the cashier. The sandwich was okay. Aesthetically it looked amazing. Both times I came through the airport, there were significant lines (at Starbucks too), but they moved fast. The bread is really the star. Offerings include sandwiches, baguettes, wraps, soups, croissants, muffins and cookies. I ordered a $4 ham & cheese croissant and it was good. So was the $6 smoothie. Hit with an unexpected delay at Schiphol, I went wandering around, with iphone in hand, searching for food. It led me here, after seeing what my immediate options around the gate were (sketchy ramen, brittle looking sushi, the usual pre-packed cold ham sandwich). The smell of freshly baked bread greeted me, and I saw my destiny: a very mayonnaise-ey chicken salad with frisee and 3 thick slabs of bacon in between 2 pieces of just-baked bread. Good salad which i took from the fridge. Bad customer service. I had heavy bags and asked the cashier to add. A bread to my order and he told me go to the beginning of of the ordering lane even though no one was there either. how hard could it be for someone to move less than 5 feet snd grab a bread for the customer? Same thing happened in the beginning of the lane when I asked for the menu and the personnel sent to to the cashier. Consider having a bulky bag with hand holding a mug and i had ti pass people in a narrow and busy space to go to the cashier to tell me there is no menu. Well, we recently booked a flight connecting through Schiphol so that we could enjoy Amsterdam Bread Co. sandwiches again! These sandwiches are delicious! We were here in January when we visited Amsterdam for the first time. I saw the sandwiches when we were arriving and was determined to have one before leaving. When we were at the airport headed home, I insisted we stop at Amsterdam Bread Co. I wasn't sure of the sandwich combinations (egg salad-chicken-bacon). I admit, when it comes to ordering a sandwich, I enjoy the basics like turkey-lettuce-tomato or ham & cheese. I could tell my boyfriend was getting impatient with me when I could not decide on a sandwich, so I just grabbed a one at random. The breads are made right there and are wonderful, all the ingredients tasted extremely fresh, it was hard to believe it was airport food. Although I have not tired them all, I will confidently say, no matter which sandwich you choose, it will taste delicious (unless you have dietary restrictions). As far as food options in lounge 2 goes, this place looks appealing. It's fresh and bright, and they seem to specialise in sandwiches and focaccia. We got two sandwiches, two large cokes (from a post mix machine) and a chocolate muffin. Food was ok - my sandwich bread was a little hard on top so it had obviously been sitting out a while. This is the only coffee shop open before 5am in Terminal 1, so for early flights, it is convenient. €3.50 for a medium coffee, €3 for a still water. Typical overpriced airport coffee shop, which unfortunately had zero vegan food or milk/creamer options. On the plus side, service is very friendly and fast, even in the very early hours of the morning. My coffee was excellent. They also had a few fresh juice options which looked appetizing. I would come back here, but only if/when Starbucks is closed. read more
