Amsterdam has one of the best patios in the city and worth the lineup! The menu has great selection of drinks and food, and obviously, beer! The highlight for me was the fish and chips with their curry sauce while Ceasar was rather average and had too much dressing. The cocktail and the beer was delicious! Service was efficient and quick for the most part :)
Chatgpt recommended this place if you have a 7 year old picky eater. So we went here after a day at the Toronto Islands. Our server was super nice and delightful. According to our receipt her name was Mildred. We started with the Korean Fried Calamarib- yum, highly recommend. I asked her if I should get the Smoked Brisket or the Brisket Mac & Cheese. She said the Brisket Mac & Cheese is good if you've done a lot of drinking and need something to fill you. So I had the plain smoked brisket: it had onion rings inside and the meat was moist. However, my side of fries were a little soggy. Unfortunately, both my child's and my husband's burgers were to well cooked. She never asked how they wanted it done so well done might be the norm. They're not one to complain out loud so they reluctantly ate it. I, however, let our waitress know so that future patrons didnt have to suffer through the disappointment. I didnt expect her to tell the manager, who ended up giving us 50% each of the burgers. That was nice. My child was having the $12 child meal which included a drink, main, and dessert. He wanted a cookie, but they were out. Luckily, he enjoyed the sorbet. I can see why people may want to eat here. Great location, large place with many seats, and they make their own beer. I had the Fria Cerveza Especial, which was like a corona.
One of our first stops while in town due to them having their own beer. Location right on the water was awesome getting a view while at dinner of boats coming in and out of harbor! Good options for larger group, we had 8 in our party and were able to make a reservation so we didn't have to wait. Fish and Chips were decent but not the best I have ever had. The IPA's were good but didn't care for the sour or lager, just because those aren't my personal favorites. Others in our group enjoyed them! Good variety so check this place out!
This place during the summer season must be so fun. It is set up for maximum fun. Being off season, the food was great. The service was ok. The craft beer, 3 speed, was excellent.
I've been buying Boneshaker IPA and Space Invader IPA for a while now, so I figured it was finally time to visit Amsterdam Brewhouse and try even more of their beers along with the food. My wife and I really enjoyed this spot. We ordered flights and honestly tried every single beer, and they were all fantastic. It was actually hard to pick a favourite because they were all so good. I'm usually pretty picky when it comes to darker beers, but even the black beers here were delicious. For food, we started with the Spinach & Artichoke Dip, which was excellent...but the real surprise was the bread and house-made chips it came with. The chips had a great crunch and were perfect for dipping. For mains, I ordered the Brisket Mac & Cheese and my wife got the Brown Butter Lobster Roll. Both were awesome. The mac & cheese was packed with flavour and the brisket was phenomenal...the fat literally melts in your mouth. My wife loved the lobster roll as well. The whole place has a great vibe; lively, popular, and right on the water with beautiful views. Service was excellent too. Huge shoutout to our server Jeremy, who took great care of us all night. Great place to bring guests to the City! With plenty of seating both inside and outside, you can't go wrong here. The beers are top notch, with plenty of selection since brewery! And one of Toronto's top brewers for many years too, as you can see by their pictures highlighting their history on your walk to the bathroom. The food was good too, just check out my pictures. Best part was the view of the harbour, and in both summer heat and cold windy days you can enjoy the fact that you are on the shores of one of the world's most incredible lakes, without the weather impeding your enjoyment. Highly recommended and easy to access with a scenic street car ride from downtown.
Review is outdated, from Aug 2024. I found this photo in my camera roll and realized I never posted it. Berry basil smash 10/10 Fantastic cocktail. I saved it in my recipe book for later!! Garlic knots & cheese marinara 10/10 I think it was goat cheese? I'm not 100% positive and it's not on the menu anymore. However it was so delicious!
Everything was solid. The beer was high quality. Disappointed there wasn't a sour available for me but my hubby did enjoy his flight. I got an elderflower gin thing that was tasty. It was definitely loud and busy and I can imagine it's crazy during the summer. Great view of the water. Server was very nice and the music playing brought back middle and high school vibes. Started with the calamari which was very good, the dipping sauce especially. Hubby got the Smokehouse BBQ burger which was huge. He couldn't finish it. I got the chicken bacon ranch wrap which was very tasty. The kid got a cheeseburger which he enjoyed. We all enjoyed the fries. Got the small donuts for dessert and the cookies that came with the kids meal. Even a day later, we can attest that the cookies are really good as we just ate them on the long drive home to Baltimore. The donuts were really good. Very fresh.
Really liked everything about this place! Loved that they let you try every beer, very wide variety of food options. Something for everyone! Rafa was our server and he was great! We had a few questions about the menu and he was super helpful to go and get the answer. The falafel salad bowl was huge and definitely had leftovers to take home and enjoy!
This place is big! And pretty loud. Which is fine. And the air conditioning felt great. And the drinks were cold and service friendly. We were just touring along on the city and it was a great place to stop while visiting Toronto.
We stopped by before a Blue Jays Game to have some drinks and grub. Initially, we went inside but found out that is reservation only and they were completely full. We were told we could try our hand at the patio and went around the side. There was a small line and we were seated fairly quick. This place is enormous! For a Thursday afternoon they were crazily busy but kept things moving. The patio had an amazing view and we were shaded in our seats. I ordered some appetizers : Karaage Chicken and the Fish Tacos. The Karaage chicken was light and fluffy. It came with two sauces; chili oil and a honey sauce. This dish was just ok as I felt the sauces should have been a bit more flavorful. The fish tacos however were bright, colorful and tasty. My other half isn't huge on fish but I love all things seasfood. These were light and not overly fishy. We both enjoyed the dish. For mains we ordered: Brewhouse Chicken Sandwich with a Poutine My other half had the chicken sandwich and I didn't bother to have a bite, as I was focused on my Brisket Mac and Cheese He said the sandwich was good but just ok. We had upgraded to a poutine for $5.49 and were disappointed in the poutine that arrived. It was cute in the bucket but shoestring fries and a small amount of gravy / cheese. Boneshaker Brisket Mac & Cheese. This dish was an absolute 10/10. Those spiral noodles (cavatappi or cellentani) soaked up all the boneshaker cheese sauce. The brisket was tender and it had a nice smoky BBQ sauce on it. This dish is pricier coming in at $26.99. It's a definite must order though! I couldn't believe how cheesy it was. We love Amsterdam Beers and keep a large supply of them in our beer fridges. I however went with a Peachy Keen Margarita and my other half went with the 20oz Neon Haze on draft. Beers come in two prices $9.99 or $11.99 depending on size chosen. The food was plated beautifully and the drinks were cold and refreshing. The view is absolutely unmatched. Food came out extremely quickly which I didn't expect, especially with how busy they were. I'm taking a star away because as much as I loved the experience, I wanted more wow factor for the food. Would I come back ? 100%. I'll definitely try some of the other menu offerings. If you're in the area definitely check them out 2 appetizers, 2 mains and 3 drinks came to $160 + tip. So, this is definitely on the pricier side for a date night out .

I had a good time. I was surprised at how big the place was they even had an upstairs I like that they have flight options so you can try different beers they have two standard ones and then they have a third one which is what they have on tap which is seasonal that's what I decided to go with and the person I was with did one of their standard tastings I visited in winter which is why most of the tap was darker they had a coffee beer option and a dark stout . I didn't love the flavor of the seasonal beers... I did enjoy the Vienna lager! I will say they didn't have me feeling bloated I was surprised that the food tastes really good their hand cut fries are delicious definitely give them a try the salads are good and have large portions as well My friend who tried the regular flight did enjoy theirs so maybe you don't want to take a risk with the seasonal ones. I came here while on vacation. A local friend recommended I come here and I'm so glad I listened. This place has it all! Great food, excellent service, and fantastic view. Located in downtown Toronto, I had a lovely view of Lake Ontario. Very spacious brewery and fun decor. Mike took care of our table and was fantastic. He gave me wonderful recommendations. I loved the Magic Mushroom melt and my friend loved her Crab-o-Cado toast. I enjoyed the blueberry lemon mojito to drink and my friend enjoyed the Caesar. I highly recommend coming here. read more
I had a mixed experience. On the plus side... a great location, architecture, and the food and drinks were surprisingly good. I was expecting a tourist trap with lousy food given the location but that was not the case. The reason it is not a higher rating is because it took forever to get seated despite it not being busy and the service was curt. read more

Ambiance: spacious layout, they have beautiful views of the lake. We had to wait 20min for a table over the weekend. Food: We ordered guacamole for the table and it was sub par. Thai rice was passable. We also got fish and chips, sadly this fish was dry. Chicken burger was good. We had a good time with friends but the food was okay at best. read more

Hey folks, a quick note about the washroom: it'd be great if the washroom, especially the ladies', could get some attention in terms of cleanliness. My visit in July left me a bit disappointed as it was quite dirty and the floor was a bit sticky. Put that aside, this spot undeniably holds its own as an iconic location at Toronto Harbour, offering a prime lakeside view. The spacious layout provides a variety of seating options, fitting perfectly to various occasions - be it group gatherings, romantic dates, or simply unwinding during travels. Their "Take a Flight" beer samplers are an absolute hit - three house-brewed beer collections to choose from. Definitely a highlight not to be missed. In terms of food, they offer a commendable variety of options. But considering my restroom encounter, I'm just hoping the same attention extends to the kitchen's cleanliness. The wait staff did an excellent job with suggestions on the menu rundown. The weather cooperated for us to sit outside and enjoy fish and chips on the water. The view was great and a great first night in Toronto. Tip for the staff member at the front desk: if guests would like to sit outside accommodate them. Don't tell them that you can't move them inside if the weather turns cold. We almost walked out because we felt unwelcome. read more
Restaurant is huge. There is outside dining as well with a great view. Unfortunately it was raining that day for us. We were seated quickly. Service was slow. Flight of beer which is the reason we went there but it was okay. Ordered platter for appetizer and we each got a burger. The food was okay, nothing really special about it. The store has a brewery space Seating is very large and spacious Outdoor dining area is also available In the summer a small lake breeze is very comfortable Inside, there are small tables with a lake view and on the second floor Overall, the feeling is very comfortable and chill Outside, there is also a separate retailer that sells beers. Each dish in the menu is paired with a recommended beer, which is good for people like me who have trouble choosing. Overall the atmosphere is very good but the price is a little expensive taste is also okay for people who live near the lake walk by the side of the taste It is worth mentioning that they have a wine tasting package for only $ 11 will be given four small glasses of beer (I see the next table to take pictures is very good hahaha) suitable for those who do not want to step on the mine, but would like to try all flavors of beer lovers. read more
This was the perfect place to spend a few hours on our last afternoon in Toronto. The beer was great, the snacks were just what we needed, the outdoor patio was shaded and had football on multiple TVs, and the waitstaff were knowledgeable and full of good recommendations. I had the Blonde Lager and my plus one had the Downtown Brown. We split cauliflower bites and sweet potato fries at the suggestion of our server. Amsterdam BrewHouse is a large restaurant with both inside and outside dining directly on Lake Ontario. They have a large selection of beers brewed in house and we had the Boneshaker and Space Invader draft beers, both of which were excellent. It has a typical Pub Food menu, and we had no complaints about the Brisket Dinner or the Southwest Chicken Pizza. The main draw is the waterfront location and amazing view of the harbor. Our server Eric was very friendly, giving us lots of helpful advice and making sure we did not run out of adult beverages. We are only spending a few days in Toronto, but Amsterdam BrewHouse is a must for anyone visiting this great city. read more

Well let me tell you about Ash. What a phenomenal experience. Yes she was efficient, yes she was kind, yes she was knowledgeable. But Ash was beyond all of that. She paid attention to even pick up and use my kids names as they wanted to order with her. She offered us the "parent experience" where she brought the kids drinks and food so quickly, not to mention our drinks (beer flight and waters) so quickly. She was patient. She was positive. She was simply exceptional. As a former server and bartender, I recognize the little things that I know great servers do. She did it all and more. I'm impressed. Ash all the way. read more

The appetizers are typical: guac and chips, fried buffalo cauliflower, spinach dip Mains are your usual bar food: pizzas, burgers, bowls, fish and chips Got the southwest chicken bowl and it was pretty terrible. The chicken was cold like they just pulled it out of the fridge, salad a little discolored, and the worst part was it was 90% RICE lol. 3 of us ordered it and picked at the top layer that was not rice. Nice beer selection. Liked the IPA flight option. Food was pretty good. Service was decent given how busy it was and how much running around they have to do (up and down stairs etc). Seating we felt was crammed in (we were seated up against a glass partition looking down at people eating. Lots of traffic walking by our table was awkward). But, cool atmosphere. Really one of the better restaurants in the area (not many sports bars/American food options to choose from). Pro Tip: make a reservation on OpenTable as the lines were consistently out the door all weekend long. read more

This place was alright. The ambiance was cool, everyone was watching a hockey game but it got quite loud at times. Probably wouldn't go back, only went because it was close to our hotel. The sweet potato fries I ordered were super soggy and were folding over. Not worth it for the price I paid. read more

We loved the vibe, location, and concept of Amsterdam. Right on the water with lots of space. The drinks were very tasty and service was quick. The pizza had a strange taste to it, the chicken was very smokey and rubbery tasting. I would have opted for a burger instead had I known. The chicken wings were crispy and meaty. The ranch dressing had a little horseradish in it. I would come here again in the summer but just order my food differently :) read more

A famous bar in Toronto. The must-try thing is their beer because they brew all their beers. Their well-trained servers can explain every drink to you, that's something pretty impressive. You can also order "flights" to have many kinds of beer in smaller cups. It's fun to have meals with friends The foods are also very delicious. I didn't remember anything disappointing. A place with a great view but the food was just fair. The place is a happening busy place. The staff works hard and we're very friendly and helpful with the beer selection. It also has something I have not seen before. They recommend on the menu which beer should be paired with which meal. The place has a nice atmosphere and is well decorated but the fish and chips were just fair and the baked chicken lacked flavor. Several craft beers to choose from. Come early because the place does fill up. read more

Such a fun place with an excellent location. This place is right on the water and gas so many delicious options. The kids meals come with drink, meal, and dessert. We ordered a soft pretzel with sauces, but the Carmel sauce was watered down. However my southwest chicken bowl was delicious and huge. I was thinking I was in the US because the portions were insane. I also ordered a strawberry cider which is not made by them but it's delicious . Fun place to party . read more

The ambiance was super relaxing. I came here alone from California and enjoyed a sunset drink while ordering the pretzel and the Korean BBQ calamari. The most amazing thing about it was Michael B.'s service. Despite my distraction from the view, and was unable to follow his ordering instructions LOL. SO SIMPLE BUT I WAS VERY DISTRACTED. He was very attentive and ensured that I had food and drinks to enjoy. He payed attention to my allergies and was quick with getting my request. If you have him as a server, you're lucky. read more

I was pleasantly surprised that the wait for a lunchtime patio table on a sunny Sunday in summer was not long. While waiting, signage prompted us to use a QR code to submit online COVID contact tracing info. It worked perfectly and led to their easy to scroll online menu. The patio at the back has a nice view of Lake Ontario. Service: Our server admitted she was new but was friendly and efficient. She brought extra napkins, all the right condiments and lemon for our water without being asked. Food & Drinks: - The smoked brisket sandwich is to die for! Per the menu, this AAA brisket is smoked for 12 hours and served with creamy coleslaw, chilli mayo, apple butter BBQ sauce, crispy onions on a brioche bun. It comes with a generous helping of tasty, perfectly prepared french fries. - Beware, the drinks are expensive and the boneshaker beer, advertised in neon, is bitter. read more
