This company , keeps calling me about a not paid invoice. I never heard about this company till they called me. I never ordered nothing from them . Last summer (July 2023) I placed an order well in advance of the required delivery date. I needed the product at an event in Austin. When they sent out the confirmation, the delivery date was past when the event would be over, so I canceled. I told the rep that I would need the product again in February 2024. The rep told me that they would honor the price and the free shipping. Well, in short, they did not. The "Customer Service" was horrible in trying to come to a resolution. I agreed to pay the higher price per unit, but only with the free shipping. They refused. I have one other pending order there, I am hopeful that it come in time. I would NEVER use this company again, even if they have the best price. A company that can not honor their word should never be trusted. read more

I NEVER write bad reviews because I run 2 small businesses and realize that everyone can make mistakes or have a bad day. I gave Amsterdam Printing the chance to rectify their mistakes. I have ordered from them for 5 years now; due to the fact that they typically are prompt, have quality product and the price is usually decent. This year I spent 3-4 hours on their website, it was very slow and laggy (and I realize that it wasn't just my computer because other sites were working efficiently). This was 3-4 hours that I could've spent working on many other things. We received the promotional material (calendars) in a timely manner. When I opened the box I was astonished to see that the materials were BLANK. I contacted customer service and at first they were seemingly going to correct their mistake. The responded and apologized, asked me to send a picture of the calendar and the logo/imprint I wanted - they said they would send calendars at no additional cost to our company. I thought "this is great". I obliged and sent them all that they requested. The next day I come into work to an email stating that they are unfortunately out of the 2020 calendars, told me that they need a picture of at least 5 of the calendars (understandable) and only then they would issue our company a 25% refund. This was admittedly their mistake, I wondered why I would only be receiving a 25% refund, so I flat-out asked them that. They backtracked stated in so many words that it was actually my fault, that I did not put the imprint on when I ordered them. I always check my work repeatedly before ordering a large amount of any item - I even asked 2 other staff members to take a look at the calendar imprint before I ordered. I have no way to prove it but I am almost certain that their website made an error, due to the fact that it took me hours to order and it didn't seem to be functioning properly. I wouldn't even refer this company to my competitors. After looking at reviews of Amsterdam Printing on Yelp, I regret choosing them and will never give them business again. read more

Wow. It seems that most of the negative reviews are quite old. Don't they ever fall off because they are out of date? I have been a customer for at least the last 7 years for both calendars and pens and I couldn't be more pleased with the quality of their products and the excellent service I have received over the years. My tax clients RAVE about their pens and have called me months in advance of the tax season just to make sure I save them pens and don't run out. read more

I ordered pens from them because it seemed like a great deal. They sent me a promotion in the mail that said they were 69 cents (as low as) and "no set up fee". 100 pens are 99 cents... so you think and that sounds like a great deal. Oh wait, once you get through the whole process of picking the pen color, loading your logo, and completing your text and add it to your cart, you are confused. What the 30-dollar fee for that is added to the order. I click on the "info" button, and it is for "set up fee" and other stuff. I called them, the setup fee is not for "set up", it is for adding the logo. Hum, isn't that setting up my pen? I guess if you are in George Orwell's novel 1984, this is allowed. It is called double speak. Oh, and don't forget you will be charged a $30 shipping fee for 100 pens. Was that for overnight or express delivery? Nope just mail them via USPS. I did the order because I had to get it done. My 99 cent pens actually cost $1.74 each. They should be more forthcoming and honest in their advertisement. Will try to find another supplier for marketing stuff next time. read more

I had ordered stylus flashlight pens previously from Amsterdam. They were so popular that at a conference vendors were coming to my booth asking for them! I then placed an order for more pens. Perhaps it was my fault for not noticing the imprinting would be screened and not lasered (I had ordered the less expensive version that didn't have the rubber grip). Apparently Amsterdam Printing saw my unhappiness and immediately contacted me and offered to do the order again using laser engraving at no charge. How good is that for customer satisfaction! As my stock dwindles I will absolutely be ordering more pens! A shout out to Sue Wissel at Amsterdam!! read more

Well as per my conversation with customer service this morning I don't consider 4 weeks quick turn around. They didn't inform me that my order was being processed in Mexico and would take that 4 weeks to get to me. If that had been disclosed I wouldn't have ordered them from Amsterdam. This is such a stupid company, I have tried several times to do business with them. This last time they had a great sale on personalized pens, and I gave them another try. I was given a ground shipping price of $23.00, when a flat rate USPS envelope is under $8.00. (and $7.00 for tax, but I will not go there) If the would have billed me $15.00, I would have gone for it. Don't they know that consumers are most likely to remain faithful customers if they feel they got a good deal on their first transaction???? read more

DIRTY DIRTY DIRTY. They are really underhanded! They advertise that they have no "setup fee." So I took the time to upload a one-color logo and ordered mugs. When I got to the payment screen the total was much higher than I thought it should be. I could not figure out where the charge increased. The cost per mug was right but the order cost was wrong. They do not have accurate lead times for production, nor do they update you when something will be late. I ordered product on 8/23 with a expected ship date of 9/13, which is long already, and when I called they said now their ship date is 9/26. This hasn't been updated on my order and they are not willing to do anything to honor the original ETA. When I offered to pay for rush shipping, they still wouldn't do anything. If I could give less than one star, I would. I ordered 14 logo-branded dress shirts for a conference. I placed my order online on 8/8. Online, it showed that all sizes were in stock. I also called and requested a proof. I was told I would get the proof within 24 hours. I called again on 8/10 and was told the proof wasn't ready. I called again on 8/11 and was told that the proof was still not ready. I called again on 8/14 and someone finally sent me the proof, which I immediately approved. I explained that I needed the products in hand by 8/25 (8/28 at the VERY latest) for the conference. I was told that should be fine. I asked for confirmation, and the representative called production and again confirmed that the 8/28 date would work. I have this verbal confirmation in a voicemail. I called on 8/22 to check that everything was on track for delivery, and ONLY THEN learned that most of the shirts were out of stock. So, now I have no products for my conference. read more

Today I tried to order 150 bamboo pens for my business. I signed up for their email list to get a 20% off code on my order. Got the code. Went in to design my pen with the logo and 3 text lines. Before designing the pen and before the discount code, the pens were $0.89 each for a total of $133.50. The 20% discount code would take $26.70 off and leave a total of $106.80. However, once I input my design and accepted it, the total came out to $303.60--before the coupon code! I did an online chat with 3 different agents to no avail. The price per pen for the exact same pen is now $1.69 each, with a $49.90 setup fee--which was free before. I tried to pull the bamboo pen up on my iPhone and got $0.99 per pen at first, and then it jumped up to the $303.60 total. This company must be a total bait-and-switch operation. I do not recommend! Guess I'll have to start my bamboo pen search all over again. read more

I've tried this company twice. The first time, I ordered a simple 50 pens that illuminated. I received less than 50 and of those fully 20 per cent did not light up. Fast forward, 2 years later, after all their pleas to come back, I tried them again. I ordered another 50 illuminated pens. I was charged for 53. I received 42, and there were still 5 that didn't work. I just now paid for it as they threatened my credit rating if I was late paying. Knowing their customer service is non-existent, it was just easier to pay than to sit and argue with them and get a bad credit report from them. Btw, my current credit rating is 776. I was going to tell them to quit sending me mailings, but I decided that since my chickens use shredded paper for bedding, I'll continue to receive their mailings and send them straight to the shredder. read more

The company said time was not an issue so I placed the order which came to just under $250. I received 4 emails from the company - thanks for subscribing; order confirmation; order #; and new account confirmation. The day I am expecting the pens to arrive I receive a call... "the order is on hold pending your approval of artwork." I lost it. "Sir, did you receive our email outlining this?" No, I did not. I have dealt with Amsterdam Printing for several years, always been very satisfied. However, this year I purchased 5000 custom plastic book covers for small books that we create annually. We created a new size book this year, and needed a new size cover. They did not upgrade the order to the new size, and printed them as they had printed them for the last 15 years. I have asked them to pick up the old ones and they have indicated that "you can call UPS and have them come pick them up." Uh, ya NO..... you call them, you get them to come out and pick them up- you created them incorrectly, so you issue the pick up. I am a small business owner trying to make it through this trying Covid times. I have never written a review of anyone until now. Amsterdam Printing sent me a re-order offer on some pens I had previously purchased from them. 50 pens for $74.50, great. I used the return envelope and sent a check for the amount with the order form. Next I receive an invoice for $122.35! I am charged for a new set-up charge (on a previous order) and $22 shipping (which was economy!). I called to see why the extra charges. They told me I hadn't read the "fine print" on the order form (which I no longer had since I mailed it back with the check), implying it was my fault. I cancelled the order since I didn't want to pay double price for 50 pens. They had cashed my check immediately without my approval of the higher invoice. Now they are telling me it will take 4 weeks to issue a refund! Nice scam! read more

The order was simple: reorder my previous order and use the same logo. Paid for it in advance. Order received with wrong logo. They've tried to make me keep the order by offering a discount. The pens are good quality. Very happy with the pens. However my first order of 50 pens was sneakily changed to 53. I didn't notice that until much later and there were some minor non-essential issues so I was sent a replacement order for free. Now I go back and order 250 pens, approve the price, paid online. When the pens shipped, the email order confirmation said my order was for 263 pens and this was the amount I was charged. When the order arrived, the packing slip listed the quantity at 250 and days later I received an invoice showing an unpaid balance equivalent to what I would pay for 263 pens. At this point I counted the pens and they had sent 257. They should just get the order right and not deceive customers. read more

Spoke with this company in late August regarding an order of custom Pint Glasses for an event on October 5. They took forever to get back to us with a proof and estimate. Ordered the product on 9/18 with a promise of delivery on 10/1. No communication between 9/18 and 10/2. On 10/2, emailed and called to find out they can't make the glasses. We are now scrambling to find 220 pint glasses for our event. Price is right but the company is WRONG!!!!!! Run away!!!!!! read more

WOW, this was ridiculous. In early March, I ordered nearly $20,000 for delivery June 1 for an annual conference in mid-June. While some of the goods arrived in a timely manner, one item arrived well after I needed it, and another I just canceled entirely. I was disappointed, but not particularly upset - human error, right? I've certainly made errors at work. Then the collections calls started from Amsterdam's Account Payable office; the first less than a week after my final (way overdue) item arrived. As of 7/12, I've had no less than FOUR calls for payment on this botched order. I thought it was incredibly inappropriate to be harassing me for payment already and said so to the poor lady who had the misfortune to speak with me this morning. This taught me to check Yelp before doing business with any company. My "Thank you for your order!" price was $112.50, but I was invoiced $118.35. I sent an email asking for an explanation but got no reply. In looking at the ORDER summary ($112.50) vs. the INVOICE ($118.35), it turns out there's a note that reads "5% over/under run may be applied to select items". So here's what they did - To my very-rounded number of 250 pens, they added 13 more, which is 5% of 250. That ABSOLUTELY had to be intentional. I would expect pre-imprinted pens to come in batches/packs of 10, 20, 25, 50, etc., which would make my 250 count easy to meet without breaking open another pack. Is 263 divisible by ANY number? In other words, they must have opened a batch of pens (10,20,25,50, etc. pack), and took out 13 pens to add to my order to increase the cost because of the note on the order summary. Despicable. The amount of the deceit doesn't matter. And that's a shame. The pens are actually OK. I recently placed an order with another company, and was very happy with their customer service. The other company's amount quoted was amount charged. read more

I ordered them online and paid for them. They arrived rather promptly...along with an invoice for and additional $84 to cover the set-up and slogan charges. Almost 60 days ago I requested some samples on-line which were offered. On March 5, 2015 I got a couple of the pens and one of the four totes which I had requested (not in the color that I had requested either but in orange) with a letter enclosed saying the additional items will be shipped separately. Not receiving the additional items on March 27, 2015 I called customer service and was told, "well sometimes things fall through the cracks because so many people are involved with the shipping of samples but I will ask my manager to over night them to you". Really now, just really!! I received the two pens today, April 1st so they were obviously not sent over night but have yet to receive the two sample totes. This is not a company I want to do business with, I don't care how competitive their prices are. I received an Amsterdam flyer in the mail and ordered 300+ pens. Our shipment came quickly, however, the actual pen looked a bit different from the online proof. When I contacted Amsterdam regarding my discontentment with the product appearance, Kasey was quick to respond and make arrangements to provide me with the design I originally wanted. They provided excellent customer service throughout the entire process. The Ostia Pen is a good quality pen and writes very nicely. I would definitely order from them again. read more

Our firm has been Amsterdam's customer for several years now. We have ordered various items for our law firm (Rosenberg & Rodriguez), including coolers, baseball hats, pens, and t-shirts. The prices are very competitive and the quality of items is decent for the price; in other words, you cannot expect a top quality pen for 23 cents. What I am most impressed with is customer service. They sent us the wrong print on the T-shirts and did not give us a hard time at all reprinting it. I would recommend getting an actual sample first, before putting the items in mass production. I have ordered calendars with them before and been happy. Decided to order pens from them. Went online to take advantage of an offer I got in the mail. The pens were 1.89 each. Started the order and it finished out around $240 after the setup charge, imprinting, shipping and etc was added in. Cancelled my order and will look elsewhere. All the little extras must be the fine print. Shipping was almost $30 on 100 pens. Ridiculous. read more

Ok so I called to inquire about some pens. They gave me a price and I told them I'd get back to them. A week later the pens show up along with a bill. I called and told them I never ordered the pens and they said they would get back to me so they can listen to the recording. They never called back I had to call them. I told the gentleman I wanted to return the order and he said to keep the pens and disregard the invoice. I did. Now I get a collection letter in the mail! What a bunch of crap. Dealt with 2 different customer service people one never returned the call after promising to do so 4 times. The other customer service person said the matter was being looked into. Never got a positive returned phone call. They were either unwilling or unable to resolve my issue, I'm going with unwilling. They approved our mug, charged our card and approved our mug, only to be told by the supervisor that they wouldn't print our mugs, they have no right to censor our logo of our coffee brand MoFoJoCo, really??? This place is utterly ridiculous!!!!! My order total was $279 but the cheapest shipping was $152. WTF???? Seriously??? I really liked the way the tumbler looked when I customized it, but that shipping is absolutely ridiculous! NO WAY it cost that much to ship 100 coffee tumblers (not breakable). I would NEVER order from these people. The shipping is INSANE. BTW National Pens is a LITTLE better on shipping; however, you'd better be prepared to wait at least a month before they will send you your order. I wish there was a better alternative out there for ordering marketing materials. read more
