I have been here many times for embroidering on my personal items. No issues ever and the work has been completely satisfactory!

I am completely appalled at the so-called service I just received from Val Sportingoods…read more A few weeks ago my daughters class sent out order forms for custom shirts. According to Vals, and unknown to us, when my 15 yr old daughter was online viewing the shirts she apparently placed an order. We did not know this as NO payment was made! Moments later my daughter showed me which shirt she wanted, we customized it to include her name and I paid with my credit card online. About a week later the schools assigned student picked up all the orders. According to this student, she was told she could not have my daughters as it was not yet paid for. I emailed Vals with a screen shot showing my bank statement that the order has in fact been paid. I received a reply apologizing for any miscommunication. Vals state's that the student who picked up was never told that payment was due (hmmmm then did she make that up???) that yes in fact the order has been paid in full and the delay is not lack of payment but rather my daughters name had not yet been printed on her shirt. I was then told I would receive an email once the order was completed. A few days go by and no email came. Meanwhile all my daughters classmates are wearing their shirts. My daughter called the store to follow up. She was told that there were two orders, one under her name that had not yet been paid for (guess the pick up student didn't make that part up!!!)and one under my name that has been paid for but was still waiting for its name to be printed. At this point I intercepted the phone call. I explained to the lady that we did not order two shirts we only ordered one. She assured me that we did in fact order two. I apologized and told her if that was the case it was obviously a mistake and I did not understand why they would place a custom order without receiving payment first. I also questioned why my daughter was the only one who's shirt (that was paid for) had not been completed with the screen printing of her name, while everybody else in the class had their shirts completed and we're wearing it. I was told that "sometimes things happen" . I agreed and told them that's the same thing with the double order. We were not aware we ordered two shirts nor was it our intentions and sometimes things just happened. I was told I was responsible for payment of second shirt. I was also told that my daughters paid for shirt would be ready hopefully by Monday. I've then asked to have the manager or owner contact me the next day and left my number. I never did receive that requested contact and with today being Monday, and halfway through the day I decided to once again call the store and inquire about my paid for shirt. While speaking to the owner on the phone she repeatedly over spoke me and would not allow me to get a word in edgewise. She flat out told me she refused to give me my purchase until the second shirts was paid for. I hung up the phone and went directly to the store. There the owner immediately came out with an attitude telling me how rude I was and if I didn't leave her store she was going to call the police. I Told her I was not going anywhere until I received the product that I already paid for that she could not legally hold the merchandise being it was paid. With that she decided that she was going to refund me and denied me my purchase. I told her that the fact that she was holding a 15-year-old responsible for a very simple mistake was ridiculous. I was supposed to except the fact that they didn't have my daughters order in time because "things happen" but they couldn't except the fact that there was accidentally a second order placed. I explained to her that a week before Christmas I couldn't afford another $30 + shirt and I asked if she would post date a check for after the holidays and that I would pay for the second shirt then , but she refused stating normally she would but not for me because I was rude and disrespectful. She then proceeded to say "I feel bad for your customers " when I explained I too am a small biz owner. This woman then had the nerve to tell me that I can explain to my daughter that I was rude and I'm the reason why she is the only one who doesn't have a shirt!!!Rude and disrespectful? No. I think those two terminologies represents the not me! I was upset because for over a week I received conflicting stories. I was upset because they refused to give me the merchandise I paid for. I was upset that their business practice fulfilling orders not paid for was at my cost. Perhaps my child did accidentally place a order, but they are taking a risk by placing orders before payment. Now due to refusing to give me the order I paid for they are stuck with two custom shirts and a child is without.
