We have donated items to Amvets for several years and was going to donate a dining room set that included a China cabinet. On the scheduled pick up date the Amvets truck parked in the roadway in front of our house and the driver walked up the driveway and told me he wasn't allowed to back up driveways. I told him that I was aware they would not go up stairs but wasn't told that. If you have small items that you can deliver to their store to help the Vets please do but their truck service is not very useful in their mission. read more

Very well pleased, I enjoyed walking around and looking at all the stuff. And found some pretty good stuff

after working all day setting my items up outside, including a couch, no one ever showed up or called. couch was out in the rain storm because they never showed. said they were coming in 20 minutes, never called, never showed. Extremely frustrating and very disappointing. read more

A terrible place to work and shop. management is disrespectful and inconsiderate. assistant manager is a hot headed lady with temper tantrums comparable to that of a 3 year old. general manager barely knows what's going on. there is drama and bullying within the store that no one does anything about. read more

I was passing by Alcoa and went to this fresh new AMVETS store in the area. It's very neat, well-organized and looks more like your regular target rather than a thrift store - with mirrors among the aisles all around the store. This is hands down one of the most expensive thrift stores I have ever been to. They must have someone there on eBay all day because everything seems to be priced at the top end of what eBay says. Whoever they have pricing their glass is delusional. These are retail/antique mall prices. Keep dreaming. The two antique malls down the road are better priced than this thrift store. Great store but odd policy on store display. They will take stuff out of your cart that has a price tag and tell it it is store display. Also have stuff setting around that is not for sale. I wonder if they are holding stuff for employees. That is my experience at the Maryville Tn store. read more
