I've been on a drug covered by a copay assistance program for over 5 years. VCS switched to a…read moregeneric that isnt covered by that program, something I have no insight into, and is expecting me to pay the $6000 bill for their mistake. Each shot I get is $1500 out of my pocket and they let me get 4 shots in before telling me the shot wasnt covered by the program. They are kind enough to offer a payment plan for their screw-up. VCS, please review this. It doesnt make sense and I'm running into roadblocks on the patient portal messaging. *Update 1* Ive left a message at the number provided. The message states someone will get back to me in a few days. *Update 2* VCS continues to give excuses about how this is not their fault. I received two phone calls in regards to this issue. Phone call 1 was dismissive and urged me to look at the internal charity. I am required to submit personal finances so that a decision can be made to 'forgive' the balance. VCS has yet to take responsibility for this mess up and expects me to subsidize their fault for: 1) Not notifying me of a change in brand for a drug I've been receiving for years that VCS specifically knows and files paperwork with a copay assistance program 2) Not notifying me of a denial of benefits in a timely manner so that the alternative copay assistance program could be utilized. VCS waited three months to apply to the original copay assistance program, meaning that even though they administer my anticancer treatments, they too were unaware of the generic vs brand issue. I had to call the copay assistance program personally to figure out what was going on since VCS would not give updates, either in writing or speech, leading to me finding out that the benefits had been denied. Only when I pressed VCS to supply the NDCs so that it could be covered was I told that benefits had been denied. Had VCS been timely and transparent the losses could have been minimized through an application in the generic's copay program. Someone at VCS needs to take responsibility for this. A statement of error and coverage of erroneous charges would go a long way, rather than their current practice of victim blaming. VCS has given a deadline of two weeks to submit the financial disclosure form. That's a nice double standard, they can be as slow as they want on notifying me about denied benefits but demand patients to get in line quickly.

This review is only on the lab services at the practice. I needed to have a blood sample drawn…read more While I was waiting the tech tried 3 times to draw blood from a patient (one time saying " hmm it just stopped" (the flow of blood into the tube) and she finally took it from the woman's hand. When she got to me, she inserted the needle into my right arm kept patting etc and then removed the needle and wanted to go to my left arm. I said not to I would get it drawn elsewhere. When I mentioned the level of skill to the receptionist, her response was "she's new you need to be patient". I don't think so, I think you need skilled personnel to do the job. I understand people need to learn, but that is what schools are for not Drs office

AON has destroyed this practice…read more Their doctors and staff are disrespectful, dismissive, and discriminating. Not only that, but Dr. Barnhill (who is now thankfully retired) is a quack who does not know what she's talking about or doing. Dr. Khuu is a bigot who denied me medical treatment/care. He also lied on my medical report. They both lied and said I discharged the practice when I did not Nurses and office manager (Cindy) were routinely rude and disrespectful over the phone. The front desk constantly screws up paperwork and appointments. Avoid this practice at all cost. Do not trust the care of you or your loved ones to this practice. It is not what it once was since AON took over.

This review is for Dr. Mei Firestone. She is awesome! I wish she could be my primary care physician…read morebecause her bedside manner is perfect. She's friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. Dr. Firestone really takes the time to explain things so that they make sense to someone who is not well-schooled in hematology. She also has this magic way of making the patient feel really at ease with her, even if you're doing things like sticking your tongue out or letting her feel around your throat (checking the thyroid, maybe?). Dr. Firestone is also a really good listener and takes care to address the patient's concerns. I've only encountered a handful of healthcare providers in my 32 years that I thought were likable as well as being good at what they do, so I'm just a little excited... I would highly recommend her.

Dr. Diasti and his staff were pleasant and super helpful, and he took a conservative approach. He got my history and made some recommendations and things to check with the labs he had drawn that day. After the visit, labs were drawn, and a follow-up appointment was scheduled; I headed home. About a week later, when my labs had all come back, Dr. Diasti called me personally to go over them, and within a day or two after they posted, this office was very caring, and I could see that when I arrived.
