I've been on a drug covered by a copay assistance program for over 5 years. VCS switched to a…read moregeneric that isnt covered by that program, something I have no insight into, and is expecting me to pay the $6000 bill for their mistake. Each shot I get is $1500 out of my pocket and they let me get 4 shots in before telling me the shot wasnt covered by the program. They are kind enough to offer a payment plan for their screw-up. VCS, please review this. It doesnt make sense and I'm running into roadblocks on the patient portal messaging. *Update 1* Ive left a message at the number provided. The message states someone will get back to me in a few days. *Update 2* VCS continues to give excuses about how this is not their fault. I received two phone calls in regards to this issue. Phone call 1 was dismissive and urged me to look at the internal charity. I am required to submit personal finances so that a decision can be made to 'forgive' the balance. VCS has yet to take responsibility for this mess up and expects me to subsidize their fault for: 1) Not notifying me of a change in brand for a drug I've been receiving for years that VCS specifically knows and files paperwork with a copay assistance program 2) Not notifying me of a denial of benefits in a timely manner so that the alternative copay assistance program could be utilized. VCS waited three months to apply to the original copay assistance program, meaning that even though they administer my anticancer treatments, they too were unaware of the generic vs brand issue. I had to call the copay assistance program personally to figure out what was going on since VCS would not give updates, either in writing or speech, leading to me finding out that the benefits had been denied. Only when I pressed VCS to supply the NDCs so that it could be covered was I told that benefits had been denied. Had VCS been timely and transparent the losses could have been minimized through an application in the generic's copay program. Someone at VCS needs to take responsibility for this. A statement of error and coverage of erroneous charges would go a long way, rather than their current practice of victim blaming. VCS has given a deadline of two weeks to submit the financial disclosure form. That's a nice double standard, they can be as slow as they want on notifying me about denied benefits but demand patients to get in line quickly.

This review is only on the lab services at the practice. I needed to have a blood sample drawn…read more While I was waiting the tech tried 3 times to draw blood from a patient (one time saying " hmm it just stopped" (the flow of blood into the tube) and she finally took it from the woman's hand. When she got to me, she inserted the needle into my right arm kept patting etc and then removed the needle and wanted to go to my left arm. I said not to I would get it drawn elsewhere. When I mentioned the level of skill to the receptionist, her response was "she's new you need to be patient". I don't think so, I think you need skilled personnel to do the job. AON has destroyed this practice…read more Their doctors and staff are disrespectful, dismissive, and discriminating. Not only that, but Dr. Barnhill (who is now thankfully retired) is a quack who does not know what she's talking about or doing. Dr. Khuu is a bigot who denied me medical treatment/care. He also lied on my medical report. They both lied and said I discharged the practice when I did not Nurses and office manager (Cindy) were routinely rude and disrespectful over the phone. The front desk constantly screws up paperwork and appointments. Avoid this practice at all cost. Do not trust the care of you or your loved ones to this practice. It is not what it once was since AON took over.

This review is for Dr. Mei Firestone. She is awesome! I wish she could be my primary care physician…read morebecause her bedside manner is perfect. She's friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. Dr. Firestone really takes the time to explain things so that they make sense to someone who is not well-schooled in hematology. She also has this magic way of making the patient feel really at ease with her, even if you're doing things like sticking your tongue out or letting her feel around your throat (checking the thyroid, maybe?). Dr. Firestone is also a really good listener and takes care to address the patient's concerns. I've only encountered a handful of healthcare providers in my 32 years that I thought were likable as well as being good at what they do, so I'm just a little excited... I would highly recommend her.

Absolutely DO NOT WASTE your time and money with these people!! After seeing 4 different…read morerheumatologist over the last decade and being misdiagnosed or unheard, I was told that Dr Odutola would be the hero! Oh boy was that wrong! I had to wait 6 months for my first appointment, which initially we were bummed out but also understanding of since she's supposedly a miracle maker. Once my appointment finally came time and we arrive to her office thats over an hour away, the receptionist tells me they no longer accept UHC and so I'd be having to pay out of pocket. Of course no one bothered to contact me prior to notify us about this. And since we had waited so long and she's supposed to be such an amazing doctor we said ok we will pay out of pocket. During the appointment we find out that Dr. Odutola had spent zero time reviewing any and all of my medical history both available through the shared medical record platform and also faxed directly to her. Additionally, I had brought 2 binders of medical records and imaging that she also refused to review. She spoke so quietly my husband and I could barely hear her, and she continuously yawned throughout the entire appointment. She did a halfass physical exam on me and contradicted the majority of my diagnoses and very obvious health issues I most certainly have. She then told us she didn't want to focus on any diagnosis, and would need time to review my medical information and we would have a follow-up in 2 weeks. Shortly after I was notified my medical records had been updated online, and sure enough she wanted to prescribe prednisone, which is clearly stated as an allergy in my medical records! So come 2 weeks and I get a phone call that she needs to reschedule for some unknown reason. We wait another week or so for that appointment and they call again and say she is going out of town for a month and we have to reschedule again! So now over 2 months have past since the 1st appointment, here comes the day to finally have a follow-up appointment. Keep in mind, I haven't received any kind of appointment confirmation in the days prior. The appointment is scheduled for 6 pm. I get a missed phone call right before 4 pm while I'm still working. I call back within a few minutes and their phones are turned off for the day. Around 5:20 pm I'm texted a video link that says Dr. Odutola would like you to join. I was frustrated by the time being off but I join and wait for 15+ minutes and she never joins. So I join again at 6 pm and then she again never joins the video call. The office phones are still off for the day too. Then come Monday I have to call their office over 20 times, because they continuously put me on hold and hang up. Once they left me on hold for 30 minutes, no one ever actually answered to say please hold or anything. So I continuously call until someone finally does answer and I politely ask to speak with the practice manager, I'm told she's unavailable, so I ask for her to call me back. Well it's been over a week and she has never called! Additionally! They billed me almost $400 claiming UHC wouldn't cover any of the 1st appointment. Well sure enough UHC is accepted there and I only owed them $70 after I spoke with their 3rd party billing management company. So on top of their piss poor management and unprofessionalism, they were attempting to highly over charge me! I've now wasted over half a year of my life trying to get very serious medical answers and the right medication, but all I've been left with is less money and frustration! And after reading quite a lot of other people's reviews it paints a very clear picture of how disgraceful Dr. Odutola and her staff truly are! So do not waste your time or your money, find a better doctor who actually cares about you! Quite frankly I believe she should have her license revoked with how she mistreats her patients!
