Grant Pecoff is one of my favorite artists and bought one of his wonderful books as a gift for a friend back home. Hadn't planned to buy anything for myself but when I saw the original watercolor by the artist Coco, it stopped me dead in my tracks. The painting brought back wonderful memories of living in Miami growing up and bobbing happily in the surf for hours. It's called "The Cure" and knew I had to have it. It's now home with me in Colorado and will bring me joy every day! The owner of the The Bright Side (Kate) seems very knowledgeable and was so sweet in working with me to buy the painting.

There is a small enclave of art galleries and shops in Hanapepe where you can find graphics, ceramics, jewelry, and objets d'art. Lee Scott's photo gallery is unique and different. His images are stunning, and many are incredible, even more so when you learn how he made them. His images of Kaua'i are breathtaking, but his most captivating images are of animal life from his travels all over the world, especially Africa. A favorite subject is wild animals, particularly cats. Whether you photograph people or animals, it's how you make eye contact with the subject that makes a great photograph, and Lee is a master. Lee is usually in the shop when he isn't on safari or in some other exotic location. He is a fascinating person, very open, friendly, and cordial. He shared his artistic vision and some of his methods and techniques with me for which I am appreciative. Don't miss an opportunity to visit this gallery.
