Amy's photography has the exact kind of style I wanted for my wedding pictures. California's beautiful scenery captured in the bright happy tone. The package that we picked included an album and it was a decent deal. We did not meet her in person before our wedding but her experience with Wayfarers Chapel and her positive and engaging personality made us feel confident that she will do the job right. And we were right! All the pictures, from the first look and group pictures at the chapel to the cocktail hour and reception pictures turned out great. Amy came in very casually to the bride's dressing room and started taking pictures of my props right away. She was on top of the schedule as she is so familiar with the ceremonies at Wayfarers Chapel. The slight problem I had was with the group pictures. I wanted the pictures with the bridesmaids only but due to the time crunch, we did not do all the pictures we requested. It was not Amy's fault but it was just hard to control the group of people when everyone is all excited. Overall she didn't miss any important moments and in addition to that, some of the pictures of my family were priceless - especially my niece who was my ring bearer and could be a bit shy around strangers. I don't normally leave reviews but having a wedding was a once in a lifetime event, so I would like to share my experience. All the other reviews, and I read them all before I selected Amy, are exactly how I felt after working with Amy as our wedding and engagement photographer! Thank you Amy Amy has the triple P and more! She is a professional, who is passionate, personable, patient, and honest. Qualities that are an extension of myself and my wife. Most of us will only have one wedding, so it was natural for me to have many questions as it was an investment, and more importantly finding someone that will capture the day so that we can share our photos and video to our kids one day. She answered all my questions and concerns to provide us a peace of mind. While we had a budget the experience did not feel that way, it felt grand and attentive. There are wide variety of options to select from and we chose an option with a 2nd photographer which was still very reasonable. As we look through the gallery for our photo album, if possible consider having a second photographer, as it captured the moments from other angles and it looked candid and natural. If not, Amy can capture the day beautifully on her own as she is the main photographer. The turn around time was very fast, about two weeks but that did not compromise any quality. We have high expectations, and the photos still turned out amazing! One of the best wedding decisions we made. Amy may be a local photographer but at Wayfarers Chapel, she's a gem as she has shot at Wayfarers hundreds of time and at the surrounding areas. For anyone that is interested at Wayfarers, this is important because Wayfarers has only two hours to wrap everything up, and it will fly by! Amy was engaged and managed the guests/crowd which is not easy, was organized and effective in taking many wonderful shots and different angles, and brought the best out of us! We were also one of the first, or the first, to do a video with Amy. I sat with my wife to watch for the first time, and it made us cried-tears of happiness. I cannot say enough about Amy, she is so talented! We hired her to shoot our private beach elopement ceremony in Palos Verdes as well as our reception at the Shade Hotel in Redondo Beach. Both dates that we worked with her were so much fun. She has an eye for great shots and gives clear directives with poses. The amount of planning that is involved with a wedding is so stressful so I was dreading the search for the perfect photographer. I mean, how do you pick a stranger to capture the memories from one of the most important days of your life? I met with a few photographers and although their portfolios were nice, I didn't feel that there was a connection with them. However, when I met Amy, within the first five minutes, I knew she would be the perfect person to capture our wedding. She was so friendly and easy to talk to and we instantly connected. She also brought several albums for me to view as well. I was so set on booking her, that we even changed our wedding date from 08.08.08 to 08.01.08 because she was already booked! We had a very intimate wedding (30 guests) and she was practically invisible during the day but captured all the right moments perfectly. Our wedding was a couple months ago in October 2016 at the Los Verdes Golf Course. She had a lot of experience at the venue already. It was amazing how many GORGEOUS shots she was getting, especially how she captured split second moments. The website that she uses to deliver the photos to you is great. All together a beautiful process. I highly recommend hiring a 2nd photographer through her too like we did. Having 2 photographers allowed us to get even more gorgeous shots - one could be snapping a must-have moment while the other could snap a sentimental moment that was happening at the same time. I had looked online beforehand and knew I wanted a shot of me and the groom under my veil, so I asked her on the wedding day and she was happy to oblige. If there are a couple shots/poses you know you want, figure it out in advance so you can ask her! You don't want to regret it later. After the wedding day it's too late. Same for which people you'd like to group together in pictures. She did a phone call with us beforehand to talk through important things for her to know and shots we wanted which was really helpful. A couple parts during the day felt rushed, like the family shots and wedding party shots, but she had warned me of that in advance since we only did the 6 hour package, and the photos still turned out beautifully. She also recommended the lighthouse for our first look, and it was great! Amy was one of the vendors we got to know the least on a personal level, just because we didn't have a lot of conversation beforehand except for a few emails and the 30 minute call where we got down to business, but that was okay, she is great at what she does and it shows! When my now husband and I booked our wedding ceremony at Wayfarers Chapel, we immediately started looking for a photographer who could fit within our budget, while providing experience working that venue, and backed with a portfolio that we liked. No small feat! We were discouraged to find many wedding photographers only offering packages that required their services for 3+ hours, some even insisting on engagement photography on top of the wedding photography services we needed, as a minimum to even book them. All totaling up to a very expensive cost, and much more photography services than we were even looking to get. We decided that we really only needed a photographer to be present during our time at the chapel, which would only last 2 hours. Amy was one of the photographers recommended by the chapel whose portfolio we liked, and who could accommodate our limited photography requirements of 2 hours. Luckily she was available to work our date, so we went ahead and booked her services. Prior to our wedding, I shared with her via Pinterest some wedding photography I liked, that I was hoping she could recreate and capture for us. On the day of our wedding, she arrived on time, and was already shooting away as I walked up to the chapel. She helped coordinate a "first look" between my husband and I, which turned out great. And Amy was also attentive to posing and framing us in similar ways to the Pinterest photos I had shown her. On top of all that, she was great at directing and capturing all our guests at their best, from our 2 year old nephew, to my 74 year old parents, and even our family dog! My mother-in-law was particularly pleased with the photos Amy took of her that day, saying that she's never seen herself look better before in photos. I've heard some brides say that they've had to wait up to 6 months to get their wedding photos back from their photographer. Amy however, delivered our final takes in just over 2 weeks, right as we were returning from our honeymoon (perfect timing)! I have to say that booking the right wedding photographer is an important decision, since you only get one chance to capture those moments. We found Amy through our ceremony location. Wayfarers Chapel has a recommended photographers list as they prefer to have a photographer that is knowledgeable with the grounds and their, well, rules. I instantly fell in love with Amy's portfolio and after speaking with her I was set in our decision. We also had a set budget, and Amy had a package that just fit us. I am so unbelievably glad we chose Amy!! She arrived on time, even though I was running late getting ready! She and her assistant, with huge smiles on, said no problem and they just hustled around taking the bouquet and dress photos. When I was finally ready for the dress there they were. Amy and her assistant were so professional and made the whole day and night so much easier! We had them for 6 hours, which after looking around is an amazing deal! I had multiple people at our reception mention how our photographer seemed to be everywhere! I heard a few descriptions of like a ninja used! They said that every time there was that picture perfect moment, one of them was there to capture it with out being invasive at all! It was so wonderful to hear and I could not wait to see the pictures! I was in no way let down! I actually was floored with how much I loved the photos! They are all absolutely beautiful! In a word, Amy is AWESOME. She did our engagement pictures two months before the wedding and they turned our spectacular, so I didn't worry at all about the wedding the day. Our wedding album is about 20 lbs and everyone that views it is impressed. She was extremely professional at our wedding. She direct everyone with ease and grace. I really like her style. The color and the composition are really amazing. She likes to have clean shots, nothing too dramatic or artsy like some other photographers I have seen. Its really up to your own personal taste but she is very contemporary. She always called back right away or replied to my emails quickly. She gave me random advice on stuff because she has been in the business for awhile. I loved her personality. I highly recommend her to every bride. I didn't really look around much at other photographers so I don't know if she is expensive or not but you can't put a price on good photographs. Since most people will only get married once, its important to not let cost get in the way. I learned that the hard way with my terrible videographer who I cheaped out on so I am even more grateful that our wedding pictures turn out well.
