Though I knew my family needed help in de-cluttering, I was nervous about engaging a professional organizer. A friend recommended Amy, whom she said was "terrific;" I would say that's an understatement! Whatever reservations I had about hiring an organizer were immediately dispelled when Amy came into our home. Do not just think about hiring Amy to help to get organized. DO IT! Make your appointment! Do it now rather than later and you will wonder why you waited so long! My small apt was a miniature version of the Tv show Hoarders. I suffer from bouts of depression and when I'd go through a bout I'd become disorganized and messy.. When I finally broke free from my depression, I'd be faced with such a mess that I felt overwhelmed and become depressed again. It was a neverending cycle. Well this time I decided I needed the help of a professional. Amy was that professional. I found Amy on Yelp, over 2 years ago. I remember how efficiently she evaluated what I was looking to accomplish. She gave me the choice to sit with her through the process or she could just organize on her own. I wanted to learn. I am now twice more organized! And everything is common sense. I was so fixated on the problem that I didn't see the solution. For example, I have this fear of folding clothes because I can't fold properly. So my solution was to learn how to fold perfectly. Amy's solution, which turned out to be the sustainable one, was to help me not worry about folding everything because some things just don't need folding, they just need to be put away! Guess what, laundry is now promptly getting sorted and put away. Amy is all about figuring out a system that will work for you. I now keep calling on her because I keep finding new projects to do - front entry closet, second bathroom, kitchen, even our business offices. And before I forget, Amy will also take away all recyclables. Old monitors, computers, etc, if they can be recycled or donated she will take care of it. For donations she sends back a receipt. Amy is amazing - she most recently helped me unpack my kitchen in my new place. She was able to unpack and organize boxes that I had packed months earlier and organize the random kitchen supplies, mixing bowls, dishes and food in the cabinets. Over the course of the last 6 months, I have moved twice and decided to contact Amy for help. The process of moving alone is overwhelming, but the aspect of unpacking and organizing your belongings is just down right daunting. After all, the location of where you initially put your belongings typically remains the permanent spot 75% of the time when you move in. Therefore, it was extremely vital to strategically unpack and place my belongings in the most effective and organized manner. Hence why I decided to hire Amy Trager! Saying I have a lot of clothes is an understatement. This was the major task I needed help with, but found that Amy provided such incredible assistance with organizing my bathrooms, storage closets, coat closets, kitchens, and hallways. She was not only helpful in her ability to "find a place for everything," but she was very willing to accommodate all of my needs (e.g. making certain items easily accessible, managing to organize my 100+ dresses according to season, style, length, etc., compartmentalizing my toiletries according to frequency in usage). Amy was instrumental in teaching me how to organize my belongings and showed me how to make any space work. Not only was she patient with my clutter and my assertive personality, but she also created a sense of calmness in her approach. Amy makes you feel that each and every one of your belongings is important and assures you that she will find an effective way to organize any plethora of belongings (e.g. my belt collection!).
