Time for my update!!…read more Not only did Sarah take photos for our engagement and wedding, but I did a boudoir shoot with her as a present to my darling husband on our wedding day. I spent many hours researching what to wear and how to look sexy for this shoot. Needless to say I was very nervous and worried about my body. I knew I was in good hands with Sarah, but still, taking revealing photos in a hotel bedroom would leave any non-model a bit shaky. All my fears were for nothing. Sarah was FANTASTIC! I felt completely at ease with her. She would put me in the best poses and made me feel like a sex kitten. It was incredible to feel so sexually liberated during a photo shoot. I did get to see a few pictures from her camera and I was blown-away. I didn't even recognize myself. It was like staring at a wanton sex goddess. Sarah got the photos back to me within 3 days. Seriously...to get a set of any professional pictures in 3 days is a miracle. Fast forward to the wedding day as we are exchanging gifts. Matt opens the photo album with my pictures and the first look on his face makes everything worthwhile. I am almost at a loss for words to describe the feeling that came over me when I saw my wedding photos from Sarah for the first time. Our guests actually got a sneak peak at the reception. Sarah set up her Mac as a slide show presentation that included pictures taken from our engagement session, earlier in the day and ceremony. It was awesome to see everyone crowded around her computer, pointing, smiling and laughing. I had so many people that night tell me how excited they were to see the completed photos. My wedding package did come with photo viewing cards that gave out the gallery location, password and date they would be available for viewing. What a great idea! Throughout the big day I rarely noticed Sarah and her second photographer at all. They were never intrusive or made anyone stop and smile for the camera. We had a great time hamming it up with the wedding party photos. We ended up in a back alley, at a bar and jumping up in the air. Those unusual places created the best moments captured on film. The day we came back from our honeymoon, Sarah surprised me with an email saying the pictures were ready. She had them up in her gallery 1 week earlier than quoted on the viewing cards. She had blogged them on her website and created a web page for us that included a slide show from the wedding, with music set to our first dance and recessional song from the ceremony. I was in shock when I saw the slide show. I was laughing, crying and screaming with delight. It was like getting married all over again. All of the special highlights from that day were included! Then, I have another gift waiting... all the photos to view! Looking through all the photos, seeing all our guests in action left me with this feeling of pure delight. I have never seen real life captured so beautifully. If this long-winded review hasn't made my point clear, let me spell it out. SARAH Q IS THE BEST PHOTOGRAPHER IN THE WORLD! This review deserves 100 stars.

Overall we were quite pleased with her work…read more Her usual wedding photography packages are very pricey now, and were somewhat pricey at the time, but when we discussed with her that we only wanted coverage of one location (our reception) for 3 hours, she agreed to a price that was less than half of her wedding rate at the time (it was around 1/4 of what she charges for weddings now, if that gives you any idea). So she might be willing to work with you in terms of price range ... that's cool. For what we paid we got the 3 hours of shooting, online gallery for 6 months, and disc of images that we could print out, email, etc. Of course we would've gotten more "frills" if we had gone with an actual wedding package, but hey, we got what we really needed. I chose Sarah because of the incredible work that is displayed on her website/blog, and I have to say that compared to that stuff, we did not get her best work. Still much better than most of the wedding photography I see out there. But since we paid so much less than these other people did, well, I understand. My photo disc and image gallery took a bit longer than expected (gallery was up a month and a week after the wedding, disc came in the mail shortly thereafter), and I was kinda sad that there was only one picture of our reception flowers (which was a close-up of a few individual flowers so didn't actually show the beautiful arrangement from Central Market), and no pictures of our garland exchange (traditional Indian thing where the bride and groom exchange lei-like garlands, one of the few actual "ceremony" elements of our reception), but literally a whole old-school roll of film (25+ images) of 4 of my cousin's kids twirling around and blowing bubbles. I did fill out an online form pre-wedding in which one specified what one wanted documented, and I did not mention the flowers or the garland exchange though I did mention other things such as our dance and some specific portraits with different relatives, so that's why I'm not really downgrading this review (pics of my cousin's kids were not requested ... I guess I expected a few, but not that many). I guess I just figured a picture of the flower arrangements was sort of a common-sense thing (the garland exchange was probably not all that great to look at anyway and was over in a few seconds, so is not that big of a deal). It's been a little over half a year since the wedding, and I can't really remember what the beautiful flowers looked like, and nothing can really be done about it. On the other hand, I get new pictures of my little cousins all the time (from their parents) ... they aren't gone forever like the flowers are. I also wanted to mention that though no plus-size/more-to-love/overweight/fat people are depicted on her website/blog as far as I can tell, Sarah does do a good job of taking pictures of those of us who fit that description. As I said, that might be hard to figure out from looking at her stuff online, and well, half of the population is overweight, and (in my opinion) we're harder to photograph eye-pleasingly than the other half, so it's an important point. (Edit: it's now mid-April, months after I wrote this review, and Sarah has just put some pictures of a "more-to-love" couple up on her blog, so ignore this paragraph, I guess) I really do still think that we got an extremely good deal for what we paid, and we do love our wedding pictures. I would recommend Sarah as a photographer and would just caution potential customers to be sure to be very clear about what they want pictures of, which I guess is common sense anyway.

As a photographer myself, the photography from my wedding needed to be spectacular. I was drawn in by her honesty and enthusiasm. She did a fabulous job shooting my wedding. Since then a number of my friends have hired her and each wedding album, although being Mary through and through, really seems to capture the essence of the event. Mary's work has a sense of humor and intimacy that most other wedding photographers lack. I've also hired Mary to work with me shooting corporate events and shooting as my back-up when I am unavailable. She is ridiculously responsive, professional and does a remarkable job. Photography is in her blood! I swear she never puts her camera down for more than 5 minutes. Since hiring her to shoot my wedding, we've become close friends. I can tell you she loves her job deeply and her main goal is to make her clients happy - and I am a very happy client.

Two weeks after the event, we already have all of our photographs and they are gorgeous!! Mary's good-natured personality puts people at ease in front of the camera.
