    Marley's Hair cut

Okay... This Review is a bit mixed with me, so bare with me! Amy's Dog grooming, first impression: eh. They weren't very friendly, or really, that helpful when i called, but I heard good things from other people (i have a Pomeranian, so as you can imagine, I can be a bit picky when it comes to her grooming.)so i decided to give it a go. Its located in a pretty easy to find spot, right next to a first national bank and across from a homeland. They had a decent amount of parking. When Marley (my pom) and i walked in, we were greeted with crying and yelping, which, i suppose is normal... but it was REALLY loud.. (poor Marley looked so scared. haha.) We were checked in by a nice girl in scrubs, and quickly. I was informed i could pick my dog up in 6 hours. SIX Hours???? Really?? .... I wasn't expecting such a long wait, since i had made an appointment. (and Amys is by appointment only,...) But I held my tongue and dragged my feet out the door. SIX long hours later, I went to pick up Marley. I paid the fee, and was told to wait. I waited for about 20 minutes for them to finish drying her up. I had to admit, they made me have my doubts. But as soon as Marley came out, I wasn't disappointed. They had cut her hair to pretty much to my exact description, cleaned her teeth, and trimmed her nails free of charge. (which i thought was because of the additional wait) She even had on a cute yellow bandanna, and bows. This was my experience, however, I don't know if that was a mulligan, or if i'd ever take my dog back there again. Here is why... My mother in law has adorable well tempered Shitzu mix, and she too took her dog to Amys. Unlike me, since she lived just out of town, she liked that Amy's kept her for such a long time, since that gave her time to do her shopping and errands. We loved her dogs haircut too, and the adorable pink bandanna they added to her. However... When she got home, She found a dark red scratch on the dogs neck (which the bandanna was convienetly covering??) that wasn't there before. I'm Sure in this, most people would want to be informed if their dog was harmed even to the slightest degree. In finding this out, I decided I personally wasn't ever going to bring my dog back. My mother in law, is way more forgiving then i am, since she decided to give them one more try (since there aren't very many options in a smallish town..). WE found no cuts on her dog, and no harm. and this time was no faster and no slower then the time before. What makes this time different? Her dog actually got a bad hair cut :( For some reason, They decided to shave her TAIL.? WHAT? So... while my mother in law will be forgiving, I wont be. I am giving this two stars only because my dog personally didn't get harmed or a terrible hair cut.

Upon walking into the store, your going to feel pretty claustrophobic, since this place is very small, and the little room it does have is occupied by plants, and chairs. Its nice to know your groomer is good tho, which is apparent since she has tons of awards hung on her wall. When I first walked in, I found the only employee on site was the owner herself, which personally i found refreshing. (I love when the owners themselves help me, since its their name on whatever their selling, they usually do the best) So whenever you stop buy, It will be the owner your talking too, and the owner grooming your dog. I found from talking to her, that she used to do grooming for popular dog shows and events; which explained how she knew so much. Its appointment only, but sometimes if you walk in she'll make space for you. She had my dog all ready within hours. Her prices are pretty affordable, and considering her past experience reasonable. I was very very happy wit how my dog ended up looking. (she even put cute pink bows on her! :D) This place is a a prime example on how you shouldn't ever judge a book on its cover; you'll never know if your missing out.!

I have taken my pups to a bunch of places around town and this is the best service by far I have found. Also, her prices are awesome. 5 bucks for a nail trim? Heck yeah! I am always worried about how squirmy my Lola is when I take her to get bathed and trimmed, because I've had bad experiences before with groomers who just got frustrated, but she handled Lola so well. She talked to her through the entire process. I love seeing a groomer who loves the animals and doesn't just see it as a job. The only down side of Putnam Paws is how small it is inside, but as said in other reviews, you can't judge a book by it's cover.

Extremely Disappointed with Fur Lab - Time to Find a New Groomer…read more I've been taking my dog to Fur Lab for the past two years. Our very first appointment was fantastic -- the groomer did an excellent job, and I left feeling confident we'd found a solid place. Sadly, that groomer left soon after, and things have gone downhill ever since. Despite being promised multiple times that my dog would be seen by someone familiar with his breed, every appointment since that first one has been frustrating and disappointing. At one point, they completely forgot to groom his undercarriage. When I brought it up, the only fix they offered was to drive all the way back in so they could "squeeze him in." The correction was rushed and looked choppy at best. At our most recent visit, I specifically requested a new groomer with experience and was told that would be arranged. Instead, they booked the wrong service -- after two years of the exact same grooming request. Although this was noticed at drop-off and supposedly corrected, when I came back to pick him up, they hadn't even done the updated service. The one thing I emphasized -- deshedding his double coat in the middle of summer -- was completely forgotten. And again, his undercarriage was untouched. I pointed it out at pickup, only for them to do a rushed, patchy job. I called to speak with the manager -- not in, of course -- and passed along my frustration to the front desk. But at this point, I'm done. Fur Lab has wasted my time again and again. Their trims and baths don't come close to the quality of our previous groomer in Texas. Now I'm stuck looking for a reputable grooming facility in Oklahoma. Bottom line: Avoid Fur Lab. There are far better options out there.
