I drive several times a year from Stamford CT to Yonkers JUST to go to Gretchen 's (formerly Amy's) Hallmark store. It remains one of the last, and possibly the best, of the gold crown stores. It has an outstanding collection of greeting cards including several racks of shoebox cards which are my favorite. I means rows of cards! I stopped in today to buy a considerable stack to hold me over thru the birthdays and anniversaries of the summer. Beyond the cards, it is packed with fun stuff, collectibles and whole wall of hallmark ornaments. I always walk out with something extra. Finally, the staff is, and always has been, the best. They moved to behind where they used to be before. Same amazing selections and amazing staff. This store is just filled with goodness from the past and present. If you're as into cards as I am, you'll love Amy's! Such a wide variety of cards that you don't see everywhere: happy birthday cards for COUSINS who are older than 10; cards from the cat or dog; happy anniversary cards for "Dad and wife" which is so perfect for when Dad's no longer married to your Mom. And the variety is vast, and the staff is so very helpful to help you locate what you need. So much better than drugstore card selections! read more

Such a nice store. Every time I walk in, someone greets you and is always ready to help. Staff is always smiling and just seem happy. It makes me happy going in here. Literally like a holiday feeling all year round. There's one associate I almost allllwayyysss see there without fail and is just always nice, helpful, smiling, pleasant and in a good mood. I love Hallmark Gold Crown stores because I can stock up on inexpensive, neutral cards which act as nifty conveyances for my own words. So much easier than trying to make my thoughts coincide with someone else's who's completely unrelated to my time and perspective. There is a cheap card section ($2 and $0.99) and one for children (Disney Princess cards!). The store misses the 5th star because it was messy. Maybe that's attributable to heavy footfalls in high-density Yonkers and I'm thinking about those pristine stores in Salt Lake City and Eagan, Minnesota (southeast suburban Minneapolis) which are 5-star stores. I'll go back. So much cheaper than Papyrus. TIP: Join the Hallmark loyalty program because the spend and card quantities contribute to generous rewards. read more

The last few times I've been there the selection has been terrible. There were tons of empty space where "Birthday Cards For Her" were. I think I will stop going there. Looks like they are in financial trouble and can't afford inventory or they have a poor buyer who does not buy good cards and look after their inventory. Very sad! read more

i still enjoy giving hallmark cards to family and friends for birthdays. special events , births , get well, etc, and the card designs along with the message inside the card is worth the cost. amys hallmark shop in central ave yonkers in a strip mall that has a bunch of other stores as well is worth the visits for cards , scented candles , small gifts includng mugs , small picture holders, and more. i grabbed a few birthday theme cards and baby birth cards as i will need them before the month is finished. cards are priced from 99 cents to over 9 bucks but the pricey ones have all the gimmick bells and whistles i dont need . for 8 bucks i got 4 cards and was well worth it . glad i hallmark it today. read more

This is no doubt my favorite Hallmark location, they have a good selection of cards but what makes this location special is what's beyond. Sometimes I just like going in and exploring all the trinkets they have, or browsing their Yankee Candle selection and picking up a few car jar scents or sniffing a few of the candles. The store is big, and they always keep it clean and clutter free (something I haven't seen in other Hallmarks). It's located in a strip mall on Central Ave in Yonkers; on the weekends it takes a little work to find a spot but if you go during the weekdays you should have no problem. I don't find myself here too often but when I'm looking for a card I'll make a little trip out of it to see what Amy's has to offer. Worth taking a gander at least once. read more

Amy's Hallmark is a wonderful place to shop. The store is neat and comfortable to shop. The items are interesting and you can always find a wonderful selection. The staff is friendly and always willing to help the customers. A girl named Nicole helped me with picking out some gifts. She was lovely and made great suggestions. I'm a greeting card addict. I admit it. Usually that makes me end up with an excuse to go into any Papyrus I'm nearby but I really do love this Hallmark. They have all of the new and cool cards, cards that are obviously trying to rival Papyrus and little trinkets all over the place for babies, weddings, just because and awesome stuffed animals. And yes of course they have the prerequisite candy. This is seriously one stop shopping. What's super awesome to me though is that the people who work there actually help. If you can't find a card, they direct you to the right specific section. If they're out of stock on a particular item and they think they'll be getting more in they take your name and number down in a book they review so they can call you when they have them back in stock.
