Really happy with my service from Amy's Place. I travel for work and was staying in one of the hotels close to this nail salon when I broke my nail. I'd never been to Amy's Place before and needed my nails redone asap! I called and they said they were a little busy but would try to get me in. When I got there they were able to start on me right away. The owner did my nails and it was really nice talking to him. He made sure I was satisfied and happy with my service. I believe a business is no place for political rhetoric, It is their right to play whatever radio station they want, it is my right to not to do business with them. Ugh. I wish I had seen how bad their reviews were before I went to this place. This was the WORST manicure I have ever had. I left with bumps and ridges on my nails due to the technician's sloppy acrylic fill technique. She wasted an hour of my time on a manicure that I will now have to get redone elsewhere. It seriously looks like a kid painted my nails. Despite the horrific quality of the service, Amy's Nails still charged me the full price for this "service." Their only solution offered was to have the same incompetent technician start over on my manicure, which would have taken another hour that I did have to waste in this hellhole. Went in with my daughter due to them having the children's chair for a pedicure they refused to fill the bowl with water for her and just paint her nails because she was to short. We went ahead and stayed the lady doing my toes dropped the nail file only the ground and was just going to continue to use it I and to ask her to get a new one. We then left to go to lunch 5 minutes down the road at texas roadhouse and my daughters polish was already coming off. Fast forward the next morning still not even 24 hrs later I notice the gel polish had come off of 2 of my toes. They were closed being a Sunday so I called today on Monday they said my daughter nails were coming off due to her age. I explained i do them at home and they last 2 weeks and theres still no reason for them to be coming off in 5-10 minutes after them being painted when we hadnt even done anything but sit in the vehicle. They refused to do a refund after I told them I couldn't come in to get them fixed saying they work off commission so they can't do refunds. I told them they would be reported the the BBB if they don't want to Coperate and they again said we don't do refunds get over it and hung up on me. The children's pedicure chair was also being used to hold their folded laundry and the arms of them were pealing off. While visiting from out of town I decided to stop in and get a pedi & fill in. The receptionist said that they were booked all day and not accepting walk-Ins. Trying to further assist, he decided to turn around and ask a few of the working nail technicians if by chance if either can take me soon as a walk in. The first time i went I had gels done and Maria nicked my cuticle and kept trying to fix it as it was bleeding. I decided to go in the second time to get dips with another tech and not even a week later my dips are lifting and cracking. The nails techs are so rough and try to get you out so fast. I randomly stopped in to get some festive nails for thanksgiving, I really enjoyed it. My nail tech was friendly and very good at what she did. I do not feel like my tech rushed through my service at all. The other ladies getting their nails done were kind and social as well. One thing I was sad about is that I wasn't offered wine, but I guess that's an Illinois thing. All in all, I'm happy with my nails and will be back for my fill and looking forward to a cute Christmas set. read more

Within 4 days of a gel manicure, the polish was peeling off. The tech only applied 2 coats. The process was not like other salons that I go. Not worth the money. Also the overall experience was subpar at best. Tech (who I think was the owner) acted rude and seemed irritated the entire time I was there. read more

Worst customer service I have ever seen. I have gone twice hoping they would get better. The first time I had made an appointment and still waited 30 min for a pedicure. Then the nail tech clipped my cuticles and they bled. The nail tech kept going like nothing was wrong. The polish chipped in a week. The second time I went brought a friend and we both got acrylic sets put on. 3 fingers had fallen off in a week. And all the other nails cracked and look awful. On top of that the nail techs got in a fight with a costumer in the front entry way. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!! They were screaming at her. Plus very poor selection of colors. read more

I popped in over the lunch hour and they got me in for a fill. I can't remember the guy's name, but he was very pleasant and attentive to the detail of each nail. This was by far the worst pedicure experience I've ever had. We made appointments the day before and they couldn't find them. Asked us several times who we booked with but no one asked us that or told us who we were with when we scheduled the appointments. When we finally got sat down, they were both in a terrible rush and sped through our pedicures. The lady who did mine was so rough, the entire thing hurt. The towels were scalding hot when she put them on my skin. She didn't understand when I told her it hurt. I was never so happy to be done with a pedicure in my life. My toenails look nice, which her only saving grace. I was so disappointed because I had been looking forward to some pampering all day, but instead I left feeling like I was beat up! There wasn't anyone waiting, so we are baffled as to why they were in such a rush. Even if they couldn't find out appointments, it still wasn't busy. I paid $80 for a manicure and pedicure...I got there at 4:00 and was in my car by 4:53...It was very rushed and I do not feel like it was worth the money. My shellac nails are already chipped and it's been 2 days. I only went here because I was in town. Pedicure: Basically soaked my feet. She took the polish off and worked on my nails. Painted them and I was done... Manicure: It was rough and I wasn't able to relax because of how rough she was. UPDATE 10/2: My cuticles are dry and peeling. Consistently good pedis. I've come here ever since they had the shop over by Krogers. Honestly for the ep/peoria area they are the best. I come every couple of weeks for a pedi and they always manage to get the dead skin off my heels that seems to build up. I also have ingrown toe nails and they clip them for me. Polish always lasts. Also have gotten gel manis here a few times and they've stayed on my super thin nails almost 2 weeks. Which is a record. 5 stars, would reccomend. read more

Took my mother here on Saturday before Mother's Day. I had a appointment and I felt very rushed through my pedicure so they could get more people in and make more $$$! My nails didn't get filed I still had dead skin on my feet and the nail art was terrible. I also had appointments for my girls to get their toe nails painted and they did 4 kids pedicures in front of my girls. Why? More money!!! They waited a hour and 20 minutes. I went there 3 years ago on a trip to Peoria with my mother. The pedicure was ok, although they were a little rough with my feet. However, the aftereffects were worse. I contracted a fungal infection and I am STILL trying to get rid of it 3 years later. I guess it's hard to get what you ask for if you can't understand each other, but I'm really disappointed in this visit. It was more than the language barrier, he didn't take the time to listen to me, he did it the way he wanted. I told him I wanted the shape of my nails to stay like they were, sort of between round and square. And I didn't want much filed off. He kept telling me to wait, it will be fine when I told him he was doing too much filing and when I told him I don't like this shape. They ended up very short, and very square. There is a line up one of my nails and the glitter he just gobbed it on. When I came back just now to get some of them fixed she acted like she couldn't see what I meant. She fixed the glitter but that was it. This line is still down the center of my nail all the way to the tip and very noticeable. She did not fix this. I wish I could find a place to get my nails done where they weren't in such a hurry that they could take the time to listen. For the price I think it's not much to ask. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE! I went here a week ago to get dipped nails and the actual procedure of getting my nails done was great but my nails chipped the same day. I have gotten dipped nails for the past two years and it takes about a month for my dipped nails to last before they chip. My nails proceeded to chip multiple times throughout the week. I am not a confrontational person at all so when it chipped three times today I decided to call and the manager told me since it had been over a week he cannot fix them or refund me (even though i explained multiple times it had been exactly a week). He then proceeded to put the phone down and walk away. I could still hear people in the background picking out nail polish and talking. I proceeded to stay on the line for five more minutes hoping someone would come back. After trying to get someone's attention all throughout the 5 minutes. I hung up. I tried to call back and my number was immediately blocked. I am unable to now call this place and talk to someone about what at happened. I was calm and explained my situation calmly and the manager was completely childish. 0/10 would not go back here. If I could put 0 stars I would. I am now out $45 and have to go somewhere else to get them fixed and pay another $40. read more

I needed another coat but couldn't get her attention. When I was walking out I noticed she used the same instruments she used on me for the next customer. I went to this place out of suggestion because I couldn't get to my regular place they was in a different town that I have always been to. Don't get your nails done here they did not honor 2 week agreement and the guy on the front right Was very disrespectful, rushed, and had the audacity to charge me extra when he broke one of my nails also.
