Actually I don't know what horse meat tastes like but I certainly have eaten tons of beef in my life - all parts including the offal - I'm vietnamese after all, and this stuff did not taste even remotely like beef. It was red like beef minus the marbling of fat that should be associated with t-bone. But it had a white fleshy consistency of pork after pan frying it coconut oil and butter. It did not have a dark brown caramelization that should occur after cooking beef on high heat. Quite strange. Beware my friends Tony's t-bone deal. We purchased 10 lbs of chicken there as well but have not sampled it to date. I will keep you abreast once we do - especially it it turns out tasting like eagle or hawk or the like.

We arrived on time and were seated. Shortly after, another party of five who were white arrived and were warmly welcomed, thanked for making a reservation, and offered complimentary appetizers. We were not acknowledged in the same way and were not offered anything. The difference in treatment was noticeable and uncomfortable. My money is green and my family deserves the same level of service and respect as any other guest regardless of the color of our skin. Because of this experience, we chose to leave. This was not how we expected to celebrate an important moment and it was deeply disappointing.

Three of us started with the Caesar salad and the heirloom tomato salad, while another friend opted for the rabbit agnolotti appetizer. While he enjoyed it he said there wasn't enough rabbit. The salads were spot on. Our server had a perfect sense of timing-he appeared right when we needed him, and every course was delivered with ideal spacing. We never felt rushed, and the whole evening felt calm and elegant. There is also an incredible wine room - floor-to-ceiling bottles, row after row. The cocktail list was just okay, I wish there were more options. I started with a cocktail but switched to a Bordeaux, which paired nicely with my meal. Everything we ordered was delicious. The filets come a la crate, so we added whipped mashed potatoes and mushrooms. The potatoes were silky smooth and absolutely wonderful. My husband declared the filet one of the best he's ever had. Even at just seven ounces, it was surprisingly filling. The price tag was hefty, but in his opinion, worth every single penny. For dessert, my husband ordered vanilla and cinnamon ice cream and our friends had a slice of flourless chocolate torte. I had a few bites of the ice cream and it was silky and smooth. It was definitely one of the most expensive meals we've had lately, but between the food, service and atmosphere, it was worth it.
