I ordered the ribs with yams and collard greens. Best yams I ever had, they had a brightness about them not too sweet just perfect tasting yams. It was my first time there but I heard the ribs were great and I wasn't disappointed!! A wonderful bbq sauce like I've never quite tasted before.. has to be a secret recipe! Really really yummy!! Fall off the bone juicy ribs just wonderful. The collard greens were cooked just right too. I did add a little hot sauce when I got home, but they're very tasty on their own too. I can't wait to go back again and get more of their food. The chicken looks fabulous, that's next on my list to try, but I'll still get an order of ribs even though I'm getting the chicken too! Found this place while staying nearby for some Ray's games. Not far from the stadium. This is the BBQ place you want to find....very divey looking and the one of the best BBQ ive had. Definitely one of the best BBQ sauce which they sell in bottles. You will definitely want to buy a bottle to take home. Really no place to sit, you will want to plan to take out for your visit. This is the real deal. I love BBQ and I'm a BBQ snob. So, when I read the reviews, I said "Let me check this place out".. and I'm glad I did. The previous reviews are spot on. It's a little hole in the wall place with just take out. I had the pulled pork sandwich one day and came back another day for the chicken. Just as an FYI, the chicken is not a "pulled chicken" as I had thought .. it has bones and served on a slice of bread, rather than in a bun. So, don't go biting down thinking it's shredded chicken, because it's not. The pulled pork is exactly what you'd expect -- no bones. Their sauce is really good. I'm not sure what makes the flavor so good, but it's good. Parking can be a bit of an issue as their lot only has enough space for a few cars and sometimes cars come in the exit, so be careful. You can park on the side street and walk over... easy. read more

We stumble up on big C's barbecue we was there a Devil rays game, and I had a taste for some barbecue. We check it out on yelp and it was less than a mile from the stadium we was not disappointment. The barbecue was good. The ribs and chicken and the dessert was excellent. The staff was very helpful and what we chose to eat. There is nothing better than a small owned BBQ joint! My husband and I were driving up from south Florida when we were on the lookout for some BBQ on the way home. I did not want a chain one so that helped eliminate some of the options that are closer to our house. Upon a Yelp search, Big c's popped up and with it only being a few minutes off the Highway and not too out of the way, we decided to give it a try! My husband and I both picked the combo tray which comes with get this...a chopped pork or beef sandwich, ribs AND chicken with their sauce drizzled over it. The sandwich was just the thing we needed after a long 4 hour drive home in the Florida sun. What I liked about the sandwich was that it was not doused in their BBQ sauce giving you the perfect balance of taste between the chopped pork and the sauce and both complemented each other well. The ribs...fall off the bone need I say more. The chicken wasn't our favorite of the three but one) we are boneless kind of people unless it's wings and 2) even for not being our favorite, for $14 for all of that it was still worth every penny to give it a try! I couldn't decide on what sides I wanted so we basically got all but two and man did they not disappoint. The top picks for sure were the mac and cheese, the green beans and the baked beans. My two year old is on a Mac and cheese only diet these days and her first bite was followed with a loud "MMmmmm" so also kid approved. As far as drinks, we tried the fruit punch that is made in house and let's just say that we finished one of the two before we even reached home to have with our meals. If I had to complain about one thing, it would be the torture of having to smell the food in our car for 20 minutes before we got home to enjoy it! It was well worth the pit stop for sure. read more

I love a good hole in the wall local spot. This is my second time at Big C's and I loved it as equally as I did the first! Its a small building with an even smaller parking lot. If you aren't paying attention, you might miss it. This go round I got the sample plate. You get a choice of a chopped beef or pork sandwich (I had beef) with ribs and chicken. I'm not a fan of dark meat chicken BUT everything was tender and delicious. The sauce is a sweet with a mustand twang to it. I had to get two sides of greens. They are SO good! I'm extremely confused at where these reviews are coming from. That food was not good. The ribs weren't like any ribs I've ever seen or tasted and the BBQ sauce was more like ketchup? Mac b cheese was bland and too watery. The crab salad was inedible and just tasted awful. It was like play food made by kids or someone who just started learning how to cook. The best way I can describe it would be like a cafeteria lunch from an underfunded public school. Saw the reviews for this place and had to give them a try. Always looking for a good BBQ joint and it delivered. The rib meat was fall off the bone moist, the chicken had great smoky flavor and the pulled pork was juicy. And they are all cut into bite sized easy to handle pieces. Baked beans are awesome, the best we've had in a long time, potato salad is good, a little too much mustard for my taste but still good. However the Mac & cheese is lacking in flavor, even just a little salt and pepper would help. The mustard based BBQ sauce is amazing and just the right flavor profile but it's way too much in the platter. Everything was smothered. So much sauce that you couldn't pick up your sandwich/bread. Next time will have to ask for sauce on the side. Overall we were pleased with this little place with big flavors!! It was so much food that we could've shared the sampler and been fine. Staff was friendly and food came out quick. It's a small business with a tiny driveway and a little parking lot, so be careful. The store is cozy and clean. It's a must visit. read more

Well I can start with the obvious..the Chopped Chicken tray for $5 is phenomenal in so many ways..taste, portion, value! I got an extra and deboned to make chicken salad. Omg!! The place is very clean, the staff was welcoming. Will be back! Side note: I also got a side of crab salad. Never had it before and was curious. Either it's not a flavor I like, or it may have been old. I love crab anything, usually. But this salad had a sour taste. Not rancid, so that's why it may be the seasonings.
