Inside, many products were missing price labels or were labeled so poorly it was hard to tell what anything cost. I shouldn't have to hunt for a price or guess at the register. La Conner deserves a grocery store that takes basic cleanliness and clear pricing seriously. I hope management addresses these issues, because right now it's hard to recommend.

And on the countertop behind the register tons of croissants! I said, there they are! The two ladies working were not impressed. I asked for the flavors and the lady said, there is a menu right there. Ugh, not fully awake I realized a line had formed behind me. This is the spot to go before getting in a ferry. The sign was not clearly visible and I felt overwhelmed with the decision so I quickly decided on a raspberry almond. This is clearly a place for locals. Their vegan, organic, etc selection is surprisingly expansive as well as reasonably priced and their bulk bin section is so well-organized. Veggies always look great and are high quality. It's nice having locally grown sprouts and mixed greens available as well. They even have some lovely locally produced soaps, salt, and other items if you're looking for good gifts. Employees are friendly and helpful, check-out lines usually move pretty quickly, most of the time there is ample parking, and the restrooms are clean.

The bakery is fantastic so is the deli we love the ice cold beers in the beer cave! It's very obvious the owners of the market very competitive to the mainland prices or even better at times, but obviously their items that are going to be more due to the transportation cost of getting things here. The muffins in the bakery and the giant cookies are some of the best you'll ever have!

The market is large and offers just about everything a grocery store could carry, including both indoor and outdoor machines for refills on spring water (a must on the island, particularly if you make your own coffee). Most impressive is the staff in the meat and fish department. They men and women working there always seem willing to answer questions about stock and are even happy to offer advice about preparing the day's fresh seafood. We've also been pleased with the entire staff. They're available and can point you to the right aisle when you're in a rush. The store can get busy, and when only a couple of checkout lines are open there's sometimes a good wait, but remember this is island time.
